  • BOOK GIVEAWAY
    ENTER TO WIN
Hey friends! Hope you’re all well. Next Monday (January 22, 2018) we’re releasing our 106th episode, featuring author Mark Ward. The conversation will be on the King James Bible – asking the question: what do we do with it today? In anticipation of his new book on this subject – Authorized: The Use and Misuse of the King James Bible – his publishers, Lexham Press, are graciously giving us 5 copies to giveaway. Endorsed by scholars like D.A. Carson and John Frame, you’ll definitely want to get your hands on this book.

So, here’s the way you can enter to win 1 of 5 copies!
Share, Retweet, or Repost Episode 106.
On Monday, January 22nd at 10am PST we will be releasing our episode as we normally do on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. All you have to do is share our post on Facebook, retweet our post on Twitter, or repost our post on Instagram, and somehow include #indoubtgiveaway. Doing this on all three platforms does not increase your chances, by the way. Then, on Thursday January 25th at 9am PST we will stop collecting names.

Upon collecting all the names/users who properly followed the instructions, we will place them in a chart and have them numbered. Once that’s complete, we will simply use a random number generator to select the 5 winners. Those who were randomly selected will be contacted by us to congratulate you and obtain your shipping information. We will then provide Lexham Press with your information and they will send it to you directly.

Please review our official document pertaining to our rules and regulations for contests.

  • Episode 105: Abortion and Christianity (with Stephanie Gray)
Approximately 100,000 abortions happen a year in Canada. The subject of abortion can be difficult to talk about – including within the church. Many Christians are quite apathetic towards the whole issue. Sure, with their lips they’ll say, “I’m pro-life and don’t believe in abortion!” but their actions wouldn’t prove this. But when we discover what exactly abortion is, it would be completely necessary for every Christian to be zealously against it. With us this week is author and speaker Stephanie Gray. Stephanie has been all over the world (including, recently, Google Headquarters) to speak, debate, and present on abortion. She chats with us generally about abortion, as well as helps us, as Christians, stand up for truth.

    Who’s Our Guest?
Stephanie Gray is an international speaker who began presenting at the age of 18. She has given over 800 pro-life presentations across North America as well as in other parts of the world.  She has spoken at many post-secondary institutions such as Yale University, George Washington University, the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Sussex in England. Stephanie spent 12 years as executive director and co-founder of the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform, a ministry that took her to Alberta and Ontario.  In 2014, she returned to her home province of British Columbia and now speaks on behalf of her ministry Love Unleashes Life.

Stephanie’s book is called Love Unleashes Life: Abortion and the Art of Communicating Truth.

  • Episode 104: The Reliable Bible (with Andreas Köstenberger)
Many questions arise when one considers the Bible. For example, “Why are there contradictions?” “If this is really the Word of God, why isn’t it clearer?” and “Why are we putting so much trust in these books when they’re not even the originals, but copies of copies of copies?” These are valid questions that many people ask. They’re also questions that many get hung up on. We get it. That’s why we wanted to go to a scholar for the last two weeks to help us work through them. Dr. Andreas Köstenberger joins us this week to help us think critically about these skeptical questions. You can listen to our first conversation with Andreas here.

    Who’s Our Guest?
Dr. Andreas Köstenberger (Ph.D., Trinity Evangelical Divinity School) is Senior Research Professor of New Testament and Biblical Theology and Director of Ph.D. Studies at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is the Founder and President of Biblical Foundations, an organization devoted to encouraging a return to the biblical foundations in the home, the church, and society. He has also authored, edited, or translated over twenty books.

This week and last week have been based on Andreas’s book Truth Matters: Confident Faith in a Confusing World. You should definitely check it out. It’s a short and important book.

  • Episode 103: Does God Even Care? with Andreas Köstenberger
“How can God be good if there’s so much suffering in the world?” This is an age old question that’s caused much conversation over the years – and we want to add to it. This week we start a mini 2-week series with Dr. Andreas Köstenberger. The purpose of these two weeks is to take popular skeptical and atheistic assertions that seemingly “debunk” God, the Bible, and Jesus, and see if they’re legit. This week we tackle the issue of God and suffering, as well as the question “Who picked the New Testament books, and where’d they come from?”

  • Episode 101: Engaging the Historical Jesus with Heart and Mind
It’s Christmas, which means people will (hopefully) be thinking about Jesus. What do the majority of Canadians (Christian or not) think about Jesus? What can we know about Jesus that’s not from the Bible? What’s so important about His death? Is it true that He really rose from the dead? These are some of the questions that Christian apologist Logan Gates will be answering this week. If you’re a skeptic or hold any other worldview different than Christianity, then allow Logan to make you think. If you are a Christian, this is a great conversation to encourage and challenge your faith. Logan also gives some things to think about when your non-Christian family member or friend visits you this season.

    Who’s Our Guest?
Logan Gates is an Itinerant Speaker with RZIM Canada. He earned a master’s degree in theology at the University of Oxford alongside two years of study at the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics. Logan’s passion is to help others encounter God by speaking on the big questions in life.

Logan mentioned the 2013 report called Hemorrhaging Faith. Click here to view it!

Also, Logan works for RZIM Canada (make sure to check it out!). This is the ministry of the popular Christian apologist, Ravi Zacharias.

By the grace of God and lots of hard work, indoubt has made it to 100 episodes. We couldn’t be more grateful for all those who’ve been on the show and all those who’ve listened. We hope you’ll celebrate with us! This week on the show we feature Isaac, Brittney, and Jake (the original guestcast participants), along with a few special guests, as they celebrate and talk about a theological subject that needs some clarification today – sin. Consider this week’s episode a “special edition.”

*Below is an edited transcription of the audio conversation.

Hey. Welcome to indoubt! My name is Isaac, and with me today are two very, very special guests. Firstly, we have the delightful Brittney, and secondly, but not less important obviously is …

    Just as delightful.

    Just as delightful, is Jake.

    Hey, guys. How you doing?

    Good.

    Doing well.

That’s awesome. So, the reason why we’re doing this is because … Drum roll please.

indoubt has, by the grace of God and lots of hard work, reached 100 episodes.

    Woo-hoo!

We are gonna put in one of those fake cheering-

    Cheering?

    Yeah, cheering.

    Are we really?

    Yeah, we’ll do that.

    Okay, okay.

That’s good – and some horns, too.

    Yeah, exactly. 100%.

Today’s episode is less of a product or resource in the sense that you might listen to a couple weeks ago when we talk about God’s omniscience and you listen to it, sort of a timeless episode. It’s less of that and just more of a conversation, more of a celebratory kind of remembrance in all these different things. In fact, we’re going to be making a couple of calls throughout the show to have some more conversations with people as well.

To all of our listeners, we couldn’t have got to 100 episodes without you, so thank you so, so much. It means a lot.

Anyways, before we talk about something at least of a little bit of substance, I’m interested to hear first how you guys have been doing. Britt, I mean, you and I are married if people didn’t know that, but hey, for those who don’t know, what have you been up to, how’s it going?

Well, I think, I don’t want to speak for Jake, but I’m pretty sure last time we were both on here we were both in school, and now we are not. So that’s a good feeling.
