  • What I do when facing criticism and attacks.
What is the best thing to do when people are getting mad at you and criticizing you? When I am faced with criticism I will take note because it is often the universe trying to provide me with some useful information, and it is usually nothing personal. If someones criticism turns in to frustration and anger, it's usually an indication that they are already frustrated themselves, and they are simply expressing that externally. I hope this power thought is helpful for you, and i appreciate your feedback!

  • Rather than trying to control others, I focus my energy on what I can do better.
It takes a lot of time and energy to try and control other people, and today I try to use all that time & energy to focus on what I can do better. I was inspired to talk about this idea after playing a League of Legends game where everyone was trying to tell each other which champions to pick, how to play the lane, and where to be on the map rather than focusing on their own play. Needless to say, people ended up getting frustrated with one another, and we ultimately lost the game. Today, I am thankful to be in position in my life where I can focus on my own actions, and trust that those around me will do their best. I hope you find this power thought useful, and I appreciate your feedback!

  • What will you need in the future that is being prepared today?
What you will need in the future is already being prepared for you today. In other words, the assistance you require, in this moment, is available for you right now. A perfect example of this was when I finally decided to seek help with my alcoholism. When I attended my first AA meeting I learned that many members had been part of AA since before I was born. The help was always there, I just needed to reach out for it. I hope you enjoy this power thought, and i appreciate your feedback!

  • Just because nobody is around, doesn't mean you are alone.
Just because there is nobody around, does not mean that you are alone. Most of my life I thought that if another person was not next to me physically, then I was alone. This was especially painful when I was struggling to deal with something or someone in my life. I often felt isolated and alone from the rest of the world. Today, I see the life in things around me. Even though I haven't seen anyone in person today, I feel one with the world around me. I hope you enjoy this power thought, and I appreciate your feedback!

  • Acknowledging a problem exists is the first step to a solution.
Acknowledging a problem exists is the first step to finding a solution. Coming out of denial is one of the biggest things I have struggled with throughout most of my life. This was especially true with my past relationships. Even if I knew that a particular relationship was headed in the wrong direction, I would continue to tell myself and those around me that everything was okay. To be able to find a solution to your problems in life, you must first acknowledge that one exists in the first place. I hope you enjoy this power thought, and I appreciate your feedback!

  • Embracing the fear of failure.
Today, I get excited to have the chance to fail at things. I am excited each day to have the opportunity to experience new things. For most of my adult life I often avoided trying new things for fear of the unknown, however I wasn't always this way. As a child I was always eager to try new things. So, today I try and embrace failure as a potential outcome because it is the only way to properly learn new things. I hope this power thought was useful for you, and I appreciate your feedback!

  • Breaking big overwhelming tasks into small parts.
Breaking big overwhelming tasks into small parts. Life is filled with big overwhelming tasks that seem almost impossible to accomplish. Things like obtaining a college degree, locating a great job, and finding a person to date often seem like too much to handle up front, and it's almost better to dive into to these tasks not knowing how much work is involved. Today, I breakdown big tasks into small individual components I can complete each day. I hope this power thought is useful for you, and I appreciate your feedback!

The "I will be happy when..." trap. The idea will form in my mind that I will be happy once something happens, with the underlying assumption that I am currently unhappy because I do not have it. I hope this power thought is helpful for you, and I appreciate your feedback!

  • Attacks and criticism give me everything I need to improve.
For much of my life I resented the attacks and criticisms people put on me. When a teacher would give me a bad grade on a paper, I resented that. When someone made a negative comment regarding my work, I felt as if I was being attacked. Today, I take attacks and criticism as a blueprint for how I can improve. I hope this power thought is helpful, and I appreciate your feedback!
