In summary, $18,575 in total income with $12,594 in expenses and $5,981 in profit with about $2,093 going to taxes leaving me an effective salary of $3,888 for a month of doing what I love! I use Quick Books Self Employed or QBSE as listed at https://jerrybanfield.com/resources/ to automatically track all of my transactions in my business bank accounts. In march I continued to work to lower my expenses to maximize profit while at the same time giving more of my courses away free at https://jerrybanfield.com/freecourses/ to reduce customer service emails and help my partners more effectively build their students. My largest expense was $5,923 in contract labor which included some payments for multiple months for help with making new books and blog posts out of my videos as well as payments to coinstructors. Advertising was my next largest expense at $5,148 paid in the largest single lump sum for a loop and sample bundle to use for making music along with $1000 to Google AdWords and about the same to Facebook to fulfill my Dash budget proposal. Nearly all of the income came from my online teaching business selling video classes online and related services such as my mastermind group on Patreon at http://www.patreon.com/jerrybanfield. One new source from the two masternode voted and funded Dash budget proposals also incurred large expenses in advertising which increased the overall income and expenses while taking a lot of work and resulting in almost no profit. The single largest income was from selling courses on my website which I am now moving away from to focus completely on Skillshare and Audible which are the second and sixth largest regular sources of income. Stackskills again came in third with over $2,000 paid from selling now 20 or 30 courses on their many websites. Patreon filled in at fourth with over $2,000 again while Google via AdSense paid in at fifth with over $1,600 from YouTube and ads on my website collectively. Amazon Video Direct, Amazon Kindle, and CreateSpace continue to pay amazingly small amounts given the work required to get the books published. Being able to use books to publish on Audible with ACX is making it all worth it. I believe going forward Skillshare and Audible and Patreon will be my my trio soon accounting for over $100,000 a month from collectively about $6,000 to $10,000 a month now. My new business idea as explained at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKybrvfAx7w aims to bring all of these together for maximum performance with the potential to have the same person contributing on all three on a regular basis and gaining tremendous value from them. With maximizing discovery on Audible, using YouTube to bring into Skillshare, and crosspromoting all as effectively as possible, my vision is to consistently create new audio books and classes that save a lot of time while teaching valuable skills. Those most interested in collaborating with me then will be attracted to Patreon to build a deeper relationship. As each builds, all collectively will help fuel each other part faster because a rising tide lifts all ships. Will listen to my 14th song in my first month of making music online live as I try using the FL Slayer plugin successfully to make beautiful (or at least not terrible) electric guitar sounds matched with fun drum loops? I created this in FL Studio 12 live with help from hundreds of viewers on Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, Beam, Hitbox, and Twitter/Persiscope. For the drum loops, I used FPC with four metal patterns and FL Slayer.
