How do we feel when we know that just trying is enough? I used to think I was not good enough to do most things in life and my only chance was to specialize at one thing to be an expert and then I could do it. What if it is a lot easier? Why do many of the people we view as "the best" often admit there are many people better than them? If I do not have to be the best musician, then is just trying enough? I am shocked that after starting to learn the very basics of making music in 2017 with no previous experience outside of being a consumer of music mostly produced by major record labels, I now have 12 songs published many of which at least one person has enjoyed! What does that mean for the entire way I think of the world?

The number one thing I have learned as a parent in the first year and a half is that I teach by example as an equal. This means that I am not better than her because I am more grown up. In fact, she knows things I have forgotten. As a year and a half year old child, my daughter is very much a like a zen master or enlightened spiritual present each moment completely focusing on what is happening. How many people are sitting in workshops today hoping to remember this? As she grows up, she watches and learns from me. What I say is nearly irrelevant if it is different from what I do. When she sees me get mad, she learns anger. In getting upset because things do not go my way, my daughter learns the same. If I tell her to act differently than I behave, the true lesson I teach is hypocrisy where it is okay to say one thing and do something that is the opposite. What is the most effective investment strategy with cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dash, Ripple, and Litecoin? How can a cryptocurrency portfolio on an exchange like Poloniex be used to build an incredible retirement savings? Watch this video to find out! In summary, the best method for making the most money with the least risk seems to be to bet the entire market and HOLD ON instead of trying to trade or speculate. Imagine if you had a chance to invest in the stock market when it first opened. Just betting the entire market would virtually guarantee success regardless of which individual stock performed well. In 2016 I tested this strategy and was very happy to watch the Bitcoin roll in as many altcoins I invested small amounts into grew rapidly. If I had simply left everything in there instead of making a typical new investor mistake of trying to trade and make even more, I would have many 3 to 5 times more than I originally invested with very little risk. The one big win I did get was betting it all on Dash which to date has changed my $10,000 investment in a masternode into what today is worth $72,000 AND pays out $100+ every week! What if I had choose poorly on another currency and lost all my money? What if instead I picked PIVX where I could have made 100 times my money and turned $10,000 into $1 million? Today I am ready to begin a long term strategy that will allow me to participate in all the greatest gains while minimizing my risk in any one digital currency. As I am listening to Unshakable and Money Master The Game by Tony Robbins, he consistently emphasizes the value of a balanced index fund as one of the most effective ways to invest for the average person interested in making a profit because this requires no skill with trading, no need to continuously watch the market, and makes holding on during a down time easy. In accepting reality, I see I have no time or energy to do trading. With all honesty, I am not smarter than you reading this or the other traders. I do not want to just compete and fight. I want to put my money into something I believe in and just leave it there indefinitely as a retirement investment package. The simple strategy I am starting to execute is to invest .5 Bitcoin into the top 100 currencies on Poloniex and other exchanges with whatever masternode rewards I get placed into Bitfinex which just has the very top of the digital currencies. Over time this should allow me to pay the least tax and get the highest reward with the lowest risk. Would you hear the story of how far out I was when I got my first massage at Massage Envy and hear the difference in my life two years later as I now get massages at Massage Luxe (closer to my house now) every week! In summary, I was REALLY stressed out for a lot of my adult life and found relief like many of us do in taking a drink or two. Soon this turned into all night benders to get a vacation from my mind and the honest realization that alcohol did so much for me I had become dependent on it. Thank God for Alcoholics Anonymous because I went there in 2014 to get help with the drinking problem because I had failed so many times to stay stopped that I knew there was no point in even trying to just not drink on my own. After three months of not trying, my entire body was so tense and full of pain that I KNEW I would be getting relief one way or another. A lady in AA one day shared that massages helped her get stress relief but I did not think much of it at the time. A few days later, I was so crazy that it felt like there were two of me. The angel and the devil or the drunk and the sober Jerry. Both of us agreed that going to the shopping center in Sarasota on University Parkway where a Massage Envy and a Publix Liquors sat next to each other would be the right move. As I looked at the liquor store, I understood why I was afraid. What made no sense was I felt that same fear looking at the Massage Envy. The idea of spending $50+ to get a massage from someone I did not know terrified me nearly as much as the thought of a certain death from more alcoholism. In a moment of clarity, I realized that my one true God was fear. Every part of me believed in that absolutely and I was ready for a switch. It what felt like a huge leap of faith, I walked into the Massage Envy to get my first massage. When I went in to get the massage, I was shocked at what happened. What have I learned in reading hundreds of thousands of comments online about the best strategy for responding to viewers on YouTube, comments on Facebook, discussions on Skillshare, reviews on Udemy, and the chat on Twitch, Hitbox, and Beam? To summarize, everyone is here to help me. My policy now is to allow everyone to share whatever they want and for me to receive what is said in a loving way. This means I avoid banning people because of anything they say in the chat and I am curious as to what prompts a reaction out of me now. For the first hundreds of videos I did on YouTube, I often and obsessed about comments getting into arguments and frequently hiding comments I did not like. As I built my Facebook page, I took the same approach banning people completely from that page that posted anything I did not like which thanking people for saying things I did like. I made a video about how I cried after posting a picture of my daughter at around one year old where a profile on Facebook commented back with “Ugly POS.” Clients often asked me for their Facebook pages what approach to take and I generally recommended the same as what I did with quickly banning people.

When I was teaching courses on Udemy, the reviews drove me insane. I would alter the entire course based on negative reviews often removing parts other students liked. I demanded in the Udemy studio Facebook group with thousands of instructors that they add the ability to reply to reviews which they soon did. Instead of answering student questions, I spent hours fighting with people posting 1 and 2 star reviews working diligently to make them look bad and make myself look good in a clever way without restoring usually to name calling. Every “bad” review I hoped to use to convert sales by tactfully eliminating the relevance of what the usually paying customer had to say. Not long afterwards I got banned from Udemy removing $20,000 to $90,000 a month of my income. I realized it might be in my best interest not to approach the “final Udemy account suspension" the way I had everything else with fighting back and trying to win. Instead of posting 8,000 videos explaining why Udemy wronged me, I simply shared what they said and started learning to dominate less while responding with more love. While on Udemy I grew a huge ego about how great I was and felt anyone else was full of it if they disagreed, after the Udemy account was lost I found it easier to proceed with a sense of humility which also makes it much easier to respond to comments now.

In the video I share with you today, I show the comments that were posted nearly a year after I made this big change in how I respond to people online. I hope this is useful for you in developing a strategy for responding to the people you encounter whether offline or online especially in YouTube comments, Facebook posts, reviews on your online courses, discussions on Skillshare, the Twitch chat, or anywhere else people are willing to share with me. Would you like to learn how and why I write video descriptions like this for YouTube, Facebook, and posts on my blog with WordPress at https://jerrybanfield.com/blog-posts/ during my quick tip video #5? In summary, I take the time to write this because the organic search benefits on YouTube and Google are huge. Most YouTube videos lack a great description which makes it challenging for Google to understand exactly what is in the video unless many people watch it. Without this basic data, YouTube has no idea the ideal user to watch the video and makes nearly no effort to show the video. Unless the video has shocking or amazing viral video content, uploading a video to YouTube without a well crafted title and making description is mostly a waste of time if having people watch it is a priority. While it seems like a lot of extra time and energy to write a description like this, it also guarantees viewers will have the chance to find the video in YouTube search, suggested video, and browse features. If the benefits on YouTube alone are not worth the time, writing this description for Facebook posts makes a gigantic difference because most people simply scroll past most newsfeed items on Facebook. Writing this is one of my few opportunities to tell you a short story and share something that might be helpful if you are not in a position to watch the video explaining the rest which according to the data is likely to be the case. I often will not take the time to watch videos as long as I make but I often may take a minute to read the text about it which then sometimes raises my interest level to where I do want to watch the video. With every post I make on my Facebook page reaching thousands of people, the description I write is actually seen by 10 times as many people on average as those that watch the video. When all this still is not enough to share the value of why I write these video descriptions, the final part of the masterpiece is publishing this as a post on my blog. Given all the time I have devoted to writing this (about ten minutes), I want to get the absolute most out of this effort possible. At nearly 400 words, I have enough for an entire blog post here on this topic which I can literally make in WordPress by copying the YouTube video title and pasting this description. The one problem is a thumbnail which I can quickly get by grabbing a screenshot from the video. In just an extra five minutes or so, I can reflect this effort to write the description on my blog which then gives my website the chance to get Google organic search traffic which is absolute gold for internet marketing. On top of these benefits, when you visit my blog at https://jerrybanfield.com/blog-posts/ and see that I have hundreds of blog posts that all reflect my voice (not guest posts or outsourced writers), you are very likely to trust what I have to share and become a more active follower online. Blogs on websites of companies and people I am interested in working with are consistently where I can view the show and tell. Regardless of what the sales page says, I will really get to know you on your blog. I consistently avoid websites without an active blog because this is an easy way for me to predict my customer experience. I am quick to sign up with companies where an active blog has been maintained with hundreds of posts explaining what they do and related items. At 600+ words now, I have a description that has a high probability of ranking well on YouTube on a video, in Google both on the blog post and video, and being read on Facebook to the point of learning something new or reinforcing an existing habit.
