  • Mom's Laser Battle! Song 17
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms! We love you and are grateful for all you have done for us! Will you hear the song I made for my Mom a song in FL Studio 12 to wish her a Happy Mother's Day? Last night I was asking my wife what I thought would be best for a mother's day present for my mom and hoping my wife would drop some hints about what she wanted too. In a world of stuff, how do I give my mom a great gift to thank her for being my mom without spending more money on something that will take up room in her house? What can I do to show her I love her in a meaningful way and am thinking of her without also cluttering up her house with something she honestly does not need or that will get thrown away quickly like flowers? While I make calls every week to my mom and think of her most every day, I found myself not knowing what to get her for mothers day 2017 after having got most of the usually gifts as recently as easter where I got her an edible arrangement to previous mother's days when I spent close to $100 each year on flowers. My wife suggested I make a song for her and so here we are!

  • #1 Lesson I Learned Investing in Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dash!
Investing in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dash, Litecoin, and more is a huge chance to make money AND by definition an opportunity to spend a lot of time, energy, and capital only to end up breaking even or losing money. After three years of investing, trading, spectulating, obsessing, buying, selling, guessing, analyzing, and predicting, what have I found today that works to get the very highest return with the lowest amount of risk and the least amount of problems? Take the complete class on Skillshare at http://skl.sh/2ouggew or hear the short version in this video where I share the value of a buy and hold strategy done every month which I learned in MONEY Master the Game by Tony Robbins which he learned by interviewing many of the world's top financial gurus and billionaires. I translated the advice for me into first buying one cryptocurrency named Dash which I believed was way undervalued because it provides dividends every month when holding a masternode. To take action, I bought over 1,000 Dash to make a masternode at the end of December of 2016 and the beginning of January 2017. As soon as I did this, I started talking about Dash on my YouTube channel and podcast when the price was under $20 with the total to get a masternode under $20,000. As I continued to talk about Dash and get more involved in the community over the next few months, the price spiked to over $100 for a Dash meaning over $100,000 for a masternode. Today the price is currently around $85 and I am planning to hold my masternode indefinitely. The success of the masternode investment has tempted me to fortunately make the same mistakes I already made except on a bigger level. On several days I have been tempted to sell the masternode and then try and trade with it to make even more money. When I review the prices, I also see that the original $10,000 that is now $85,000 I could have turned into over a million dollars if I had made the right buys and sells. The problem is how do you know when to buy and when to sell? Unless you have an explicit insider advantage, which often is illegal, it is extremely difficult to accurately predict what will happen. At the same time, it is easy to get lucky and feel smarter than everyone else. With all of this in mind, I have been asking how can I consistently invest in these digital currencies online and build a retirement portfolio that profits from the gains and minimizes losses? What I am doing now and quickly explain in the video is doing a buy and hold strategy each month the same way as I have done previously with retirement accounts. Every month I pick a day to invest about 0.5 Bitcoin on Bitfinex buying everything there except Dash which allows me to invest in most of the top crytos. On that same day I put another 0.01 Bitcoin into the top 50 Poloniex currencies excepting those I already have on Bitfinex and Coinbase where I buy $10 a day in Bitcoin and $10 a day in Ethereum. Get $10 on Coinbase when you sign up with my link and fund your account with $100 at https://www.coinbase.com/join/53f220834b1a7fd652000013. This strategy eliminates the majority of the problems I have faced so far investing and allows me to essentially bet the entire market without having to care what the price is day to day. In fact, I get excited if the price drops because then my USD is worth more BTC, ETH, DASH, and anything else I buy. If the price goes up, I get excited that my investments are worth more and making money. The foundation of my strategy is a belief that user managed currencies are the future and even when they have setbacks, in the longer term the value will continue to rise. To provide more money to invest, I have liquidated all of my other retirement accounts and am putting the money into crypto for the foreseeable future each month with the idea being this is where I will build my retirement. This strategy is balanced with my wife's ultra conservative approach of keeping money

  • Day 158! Does asking "What Less Can I Do" work better than "What More Can I Do?"
Let me tell you a story about asking "What more can I do?" Last week I saw a woman at a twelve step support group meeting I go to daily asking "What more can I possibly do?" and it reminded me of my experience with asking the same question. She seemed really stressed out and frustrated because she was doing everything she could think of and then asking for ideas of what to add to that. Since last week I have not seen her all week and she missed her commitment for the group this week. In trying to do more, the result might be that she ended up doing a lot less or maybe nothing. How many times did I do this in my business? I had financial fear and insecurity which drove me to keep hustling for more. Hunting around the Internet for work to do in online marketing, I would keep asking "What else do I need to do to make money?" and "How can I get more clients?" After doing this a while, I would get so frustrated that I would just give up for a while. All client emails would go unanswered and I would crawl into a hole of loneliness to hide from my business. The shame of feeling like I was not good enough would drive me out again suddenly asking "WHAT MORE CAN I DO?" and the cycle would repeat all over again. The result was consistently working really hard to end up back where I started. How could I stick with doing any one thing when I was trying to do everything? Burn out happened frequently and distinguishing between what I loved doing and what I was just doing for money became difficult. Finally at the very worst financial point of my business where I was over $100,000 in debt from credit cards and personal loans, I started thinking about the worst case scenario. IF I did go out of business, what would I want that to look like? Quickly I realized that if my business was going to fail, I would like it to still be useful. Fortunately YouTube made for a simple way to do that. Given that the odds of me going out of business and having to declare bankruptcy were high anyway, why not just do whatever I thought would be most helpful and give the best of my knowledge away for free? What was the point in picking up one more client? That client was unlikely to fix my desperate situation. To be able to have time to teach online, I gave up my entire business of accepting clients and gave up doing nearly everything that did not consist of making new videos and classes online. I looked at my business and my life while asking "What can I cut?" and "Where am I wasting my time?" and "How do I make more time for doing what I really want to?" With what seemed like a miracle given by you and the people alongside you, I earned over $600,000 teaching online within the next year and a half from eliminating the rest of my business. As my business in teaching online grew, I entered in the same mistakes as before asking again "What more can I do?" The answers I got to what more I could do quickly pushed me from making good money to a race to the very top and making a business that was once again full of too many activities. Soon the website I made the majority of the money on solved that problem by banning me and it has taken nearly a year of continuously asking "What less can I do?" and "What can I cut?" and "Where am I wasting time and money?" to get to a place today where I have a small to do list that allows me to take a day off, relax, and just enjoy teaching online. What if trying to do more all the time IS the problem? What if the answer to being most useful to others involves eliminating areas that are not contributing? The challenge with this is to still do trial and error at a slower pace. Just picking one niche and sticking to it is not necessarily the most effective way to find gratitude or have a great business. Selecting a niche that initially looks fun but was picked for a means to an end might mean wasting all time instead of just some. Today I try to take a bit more playful approach to my business and my li

  • Magical Space Carpet! Song #16 Produced in 1 Hour in FL Studio 12!
Will you listen to this electronic dance music track I made in FL Studio 12 in just one hour? To recreate this beat in FL Studio 12, here is how. On track one I used two kick drum samples including XF_KickBig28 and XF_KickHuge40. Track 2 included two hi hats came from Deadmau5 Xfer XF_HatAmp106 and XF_HatAna15. Butterfly is what I put on track 3 using Sawyer to make the basic chords of the song. Ploc preset from Sawyer is what I used for the riff. LED Nordic Chord MC comes in through the Morphine Additive Synthesizer as the bass. I added a variation on the riff with Trance pluck 2 with Sytrus and a variation on the chords with LED Aggressive Oddysey FG from Morphine.
Thank you for reading about how I make a song in an hour using FL Studio 12 starting from a blank track! Prior to 2017, I had no experience making, creating, or playing music outside of banging on the keys randomly with my Yamaha keyboard because after giving my music teacher the finger in sixth grade, I figured I had no musical talent. My hope is in my attempts to share my songs with the world, you will be inspired to do the same! I appreciate you joining me on this journey and hope to see you with me in my studio on the live chat during my next live stream!
Thank you to the following viewers for watching and commenting on YouTube, Facebook, and/or Twitch during the live stream to help me compose this track!

  • March 2017 Business Income and Expense Report for JerryBanfield.com
Would you like to see my income and expenses for my business at https://jerrybanfield.com/ in March 2017? In summary, $18,575 in total income with $12,594 in expenses and $5,981 in profit with about $2,093 going to taxes leaving me an effective salary of $3,888 for a month of doing what I love! I use Quick Books Self Employed or QBSE as listed at https://jerrybanfield.com/resources/ to automatically track all of my transactions in my business bank accounts. In march I continued to work to lower my expenses to maximize profit while at the same time giving more of my courses away free at https://jerrybanfield.com/freecourses/ to reduce customer service emails and help my partners more effectively build their students. My largest expense was $5,923 in contract labor which included some payments for multiple months for help with making new books and blog posts out of my videos as well as payments to coinstructors. Advertising was my next largest expense at $5,148 paid in the largest single lump sum for a loop and sample bundle to use for making music along with $1000 to Google AdWords and about the same to Facebook to fulfill my Dash budget proposal. Nearly all of the income came from my online teaching business selling video classes online and related services such as my mastermind group on Patreon at http://www.patreon.com/jerrybanfield. One new source from the two masternode voted and funded Dash budget proposals also incurred large expenses in advertising which increased the overall income and expenses while taking a lot of work and resulting in almost no profit. The single largest income was from selling courses on my website which I am now moving away from to focus completely on Skillshare and Audible which are the second and sixth largest regular sources of income. Stackskills again came in third with over $2,000 paid from selling now 20 or 30 courses on their many websites. Patreon filled in at fourth with over $2,000 again while Google via AdSense paid in at fifth with over $1,600 from YouTube and ads on my website collectively. Amazon Video Direct, Amazon Kindle, and CreateSpace continue to pay amazingly small amounts given the work required to get the books published. Being able to use books to publish on Audible with ACX is making it all worth it. I believe going forward Skillshare and Audible and Patreon will be my my trio soon accounting for over $100,000 a month from collectively about $6,000 to $10,000 a month now. My new business idea as explained at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKybrvfAx7w aims to bring all of these together for maximum performance with the potential to have the same person contributing on all three on a regular basis and gaining tremendous value from them. With maximizing discovery on Audible, using YouTube to bring into Skillshare, and crosspromoting all as effectively as possible, my vision is to consistently create new audio books and classes that save a lot of time while teaching valuable skills. Those most interested in collaborating with me then will be attracted to Patreon to build a deeper relationship. As each builds, all collectively will help fuel each other part faster because a rising tide lifts all ships. As the income continues to grow, I hope to continue paying my debt down faster and giving more back to you and the people watching along side you each day. Thank you for reading about my March 2017 income report and I hope you enjoy it!

  • Jerry's Dance! Song #15 is EDM from FL Studio 12 with Violin Ensemble 2, PoiZone and Misty!
Will you listen to my 15th song in my first year of making music set in electronic dance music created in FL Studio 12? To make this song, I did a live stream on Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, Twitter with Periscope, and Hitbox using what I teach in my 80+ Skillshare video classes online at https://jerrybanfield.com/freecourses/ with the resources listed at https://jerrybanfield.com/resources/. Thousands of viewers watched with a a few actively collaborating by suggesting how to arrange elements in the track, which chords to use, where to put silence, and stacking each element in the chorus to fit together. Tomas George, a music producer and sound engineer from the UK, helped me to understand exactly how to make this song harmonious and was kind enough to share 30 to 50 live comments guiding me as to where to put each note. His classes on Skillshare are helping me create better music and I recommend starting with Music Theory for Electronic Music Producers at http://skl.sh/2oc3tiF. If you would like me to listen to your music and naturally share about what you do, would you become a partner today at at https://jerrybanfield.com/partners/.
If you are hoping to recreate parts of this beat, I am happy to help because my mission is to communicate with everyone in the world using music and inspire you to share your songs along with me! To make pattern 1 with the main chord, I used Misty which is preset on the Sytrus plugin. For pattern 2, I used the same chord with PoiZone set on ARP Interpolation ToTc with the arpeggiator up 3. For the kicks, I used two Deadmau5 Xfers XF_KickProc041 and XF_KickProc039. Two hi hats came from Deadmau5 Xfer XF_HatAmp011 and XF_HatAmp021. Introducing this track is a 3x Osc with a square wave, sawtooth wave, and a rounded saw. When the beat drops, you will hear violin ensemble 2 from Sytrus. Entering in the second part of the beat is PoiZone #2 with ARP It Wasn't Tim ToTc and Nice & Harmless from Harmor synthesizer plugin. Finally, I used an automation loop to slow the tempo down twice because I love how Tomas George uses that in this Angel's Prey song at https://soundcloud.com/tomasgeorgemusic/angels-prey. Watch the video where I finished this song live at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poG0Gazrzrc.
Thank you for reading about the fifteenth song I have released within my first month or so of live streaming my music creation with FL Studio 12! • Breaking Ice! Song 14 My First Metal Instrumental With FL Slayer!
Will listen to my 14th song in my first month of making music online live as I try using the FL Slayer plugin successfully to make beautiful (or at least not terrible) electric guitar sounds matched with fun drum loops? I created this in FL Studio 12 live with help from hundreds of viewers on Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, Beam, Hitbox, and Twitter/Persiscope. For the drum loops, I used FPC with four metal patterns and FL Slayer. The solo guitar was POWER RYTHM GUITAR with a CMaj pattern clicked in with the mouse while the lead guitar was POWER rock played with my MIDI controller alongside the drums and solo to finish. Tomas George suggested the name "Breaking Ice" which I laughed at and chose for the winner! Thank you to thanasis03, BassAndBeard, KhemicalMynd, xJEDIx_Z, YukoLife, and spacebryan for commenting on Twitch! Thank you Tomas George for watching on YouTube and Facebook with live tips from your years of experience as a music producer and sound engineer as seen at https://jerrybanfield.com/partners/. I appreciate Martin Törnell for making so many comments on Facebook. On YouTube, thank you
