Christine Blair has never backed down from a challenge. From Hawaii to the Air Force she has always wanted to do what needed to be done no matter how much work it took. She shares her journey from yoga to traveling the country after quitting her job and downsizing everything she owns. There are plenty of gems 💎 from Christine. Aloha! 🤙🏽
Christine's poem:
I've touched the ocean
Inside myself
So many times
I can't recall them all.
I've waited on shores
Looking out,
Looking in,
Looking out
For the courage to take
The first step into
The wide open blue
Take up all the spaces that are
No longer me
And deliver them to the deep,
It will.
No one can know
But I'm asking anyway,
"What's on the other side of this?
What must be given over?
And, how long will it take?"
Have you noticed the brave ones
Cliff diving?
They make it look so effortless.
I wonder if pulling your knees to your chest like that
reminds you,
only pain and contraction
Can birth you from a womb.
I'm here
Watching the tide
Moving in,
Moving out,
Moving in.
I feel like that hermit
Retreating back to his comfortable
But too small home.
The ocean stretches out
It will force me to take up space,
To kick and breathe and float
and open
and open
and leave the heavy to sink.
And open.
But I'm not ready,
I'm not ready just yet.
Right?
Departing becomes arrival,
Becomes departing
And so it goes.
And I have touched the ocean
Inside myself
So many times
I can't recall them all.
