BREAKING NEWS: Counter Terrorism Police have now taken over the investigation into the brutal murder of Ann Widdecombe.

Only days ago, Nigel Farage argued that there were serious questions surrounding Ann's death and warned against dismissing the possibility of a politically motivated attack. His comments sparked fierce criticism from politicians, police figures and much of the mainstream media, who accused him of jumping to conclusions while detectives urged restraint.

Now everything has changed. Counter Terrorism officers are leading the investigation after what police describe as "new evidence", with the main suspect having been re-arrested under terrorism legislation while detectives pursue multiple lines of enquiry.

Britain is in shock. Ann Widdecombe has been murdered. A suspect has been arrested, and the police are investigating. They have urged everyone not to speculate about the motive—and neither will I.

But another question must be asked. Why, within hours of Ann's death, were some on the Left unable to show even the most basic human decency?

Peter Tatchell described Ann Widdecombe as a "bigot" before later deleting his post and apologising. Adam Boulton also apologised after describing the murdered Ann as "a spinster" and "an old maid". Imagine if those comments had been made about a murdered Labour politician. Would the reaction have been the same?

This isn't about claiming those remarks had anything to do with the crime. There is no evidence of that. It is about asking whether our political culture has become so tribal that opponents are no longer treated as fellow human beings.

This is also the third serving or former MP to be murdered in roughly the last decade. Jo Cox. Sir David Amess. Now Ann Widdecombe. Nigel Farage has recently warned about the security of politicians and the threats they face. Is Britain becoming a more dangerous place for anyone prepared to stand up in public life?

Today I'll examine the facts, challenge the double standards, and ask whether Britain has crossed a dangerous line where political hatred is replacing political debate.

England were magnificent last night. The passion, the determination and the quality of the performance gave the country something to smile about. Credit where it's due—this team deserves our congratulations.

But while we celebrate England's success, should we also be asking whether politicians are trying to ride that wave of national optimism? Andy Burnham is presenting himself as the man to lead Britain after Keir Starmer, yet he has never been elected Prime Minister and has not asked the British people for a mandate.

We still know remarkably little about the policies he would introduce or the direction he wants to take the country. Reports and political speculation continue over major issues, including Britain's future relationship with the Chagos Islands, proposals affecting political donations, and Labour's increasingly aggressive attacks on Nigel Farage and Reform UK.

There should always be proper investigations where necessary—but should politicians and sections of the media act as judge and jury before the facts are established?

Burnham is also talking about eye-catching ideas such as allowing drinking on football terraces and presenting himself as the optimistic alternative to Starmer. Is this genuine leadership with a clear programme, or is it political theatre designed to win hearts before answering the difficult questions?

Tonight I'll celebrate England's fantastic victory—but I'll also ask whether we're being distracted from far bigger constitutional and political issues. Should Britain be accepting a new Prime Minister without a General Election? Has Andy Burnham earned the right to lead the country? And are we getting substance—or simply bread and circuses?

Starmer and Burnham are full of empty rhetoric, but my viewers on Jon Gaunt TV have HAD IT. You're demanding real movement on deportations and justice for the victims of grooming gangs—not more excuses.

The news that we can't even deport the ringleader of the Rochdale Rape Gang, Shabir Ahmed, because of a 50-year-old legal loophole is the absolute final straw! The political class has sat on its hands while legal hurdles like the 1971 Act protect the indefensible. It's a total betrayal.

We've seen the "soft justice" from woke judges and the "two-tier" policing that ignores our borders while punishing the law-abiding. As one viewer put it: "Stop the boats and deport all illegals... it has got to be done!" Another hit the nail on the head: "Burnham needs to explain his position on rape gangs!" The victims have been forgotten for too long.

The question is: when did holding these opinions become enough for some people to label you 'far right'?" Wanting secure borders. Believing illegal immigration should be stopped. Supporting the police. Believing biological sex matters. Wanting criminals to receive tougher sentences. Believing in free speech, even for unpopular opinions. Being proud of Britain and flying the Union Flag. Wanting lower taxes and less government waste. Expecting newcomers to integrate and obey British laws. Believing democratic elections—not protests or courts—should decide political direction.
