Jon Gaunt is back.
After resting his podcasts for a few weeks Jon is back and firing on all cylinders.
He explains how lockdown has affected him and his mental health but now he is back and in true Gaunty style is laying into Boris, Harry and Meghan (the King and Queen of woke) and of course Dick of the Yard!
Should we wear masks? Will Rishi be able to get the economy going again? Are we really safe to venture out. Was the lockdown really necessary?
Jon wants your views too but make no mistake he is back and is taking no prisoners.
Jon catches up with Colin Heanes from Brisbane to learn how Australia imposed and is now relaxing it's lockdown over Coronavirus.
Colin was the original drummer in the pop band, King from the eighties and he has an interesting back story. After being thrown out of the band Colin left Coventry and relocated to Brisbane where he has established a very successful building business.
Jon and Colin discuss and compare the reaction to Covid-19 in Australia and in the UK.
Colin also talks about his recent visit back to Coventry and is quite clear that he feels he has a much better life in Oz.
This is a great listen.
Jon Gaunt say that Boris Johnson was too slow to act on Covid-19 and is now being much too rushed in lifting the lockdown.
Jon thinks that working class and manual workers are being used as "Lab Rats'" to test if it is safe to return to work.
Jon laughs at the "Jabberwocky" rules that make no sense that Boris has introduced.
If public transport is too unsafe to use why are we being encouraged to return to work?
Jon says that he finds it odd to be agreeing with George Galloway, Piers Morgan, the TUC and the RMT but he feels they are correct to urge caution.
This is Jon on top form.
Please tell him your opinion on Twitter and Facebook or by email.
Jon Gaunt is joined by Paul Ruane in Tenerife who gives us the low-down on the lifting of the lockdown in mainland Spain and the Canaries.
Paul has lived on the Island for 44 years and is just emerging from a 7 week lockdown.
He explains the difference between the Spanish lockdown and the UK one.
Paul says that the UK response has been hindered by political correctness. He believes that Boris should have been much harsher on March 12 and that the British public would have accepted a tougher lockdown.
Jon and Paul also discuss the effect the Coronavirus is having on the tourist and property trade in Tenerife.
This is a great podcast. Please share and tell us your views.
Jon Gaunt catches up with Mark who has been stuck in Sri Lanka for five weeks longer than he intended.
Now he needs to get back home but wonders what kind of country he is coming down to in Lockdown Britain.
He also tells Jon about the lockdown in the beautiful country of Sri Lanka.
Being a plasterer Mark doesn't even know if there will be work when he gets back to the Uk.
As a regular world traveller on a budget Mark also wonders if the whole nature of youngsters travelling the world will fundamentally change or even end when this coronavirus pandemic is over.
This is a really good listen.
You will find all of Jon's podcasts on his website Jongaunt.com
Jon Gaunt is in fine form as he discusses the relaxation of the lockdown in Spain and compares it to the UK with guest, Chris Marshall.
He also has plenty to say on the scandal of the deaths in UK care homes and compares our general treatment of the elderly in our society with what happens in Spain and Italy.
Jon and Chris also discuss their ideas on bringing back a form of National Service in the UK. Not square bashing but the concept of putting something back into our society.
This is a brilliant and engaging discussion and we welcome your views on Twitter or Facebook.
Jon Gaunt is in a reflective mood. He is very pleased that Boris Johnson is back in charge but just how does Boris get us out of this Coronavirus cul-de-sac?
Although Jon feels Boris made a major mistake in not locking down much earlier and much stricter the point remains how do we now release the population. Also how much more will the UK population put up with?
What kind of world will we all re-enter and will this period of self isolation make us better people.
For once Jon does not have all the answers, have a listen and see if you can help plan a route map out.
The only thing Jon knows for certain is that B Boris and his Government does need to start treating us like adults.
Jon catches up with radio presenter Maurice Boland in Marbella to find out what is happening with the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown.
Jon and Maurice debate the differences between Spain's attitude to this virus and the UK. They both ask the question, "where's Boris?
It is clear that we need a clear roadmap out of lockdown but it looks like the UK is still not clear on where to even start.
Let us have your views on Facebook and Twitter.
Australia has had 74 Covid-19 deaths and appear to be completely on top of this killer virus. Why?
Could it be due to the fact that they locked down, performed mass testing and protected their citizens.
Jon discusses how they did it with Brian Schaffer from the Gold Coast.
All Aussie airports are shut to passengers and if you do come in then you are quarantined for 14 days, whereas we still have planes flying in from Covid hotspots.
Jon states that our Government have been completely inept in their handling of the pandemic.
Brian can't believe that Boris allowed the Cheltenham Festival to go ahead on the very day that WHO classified Coronavirus as a pandemic.
This is a fascinating podcast and will make you consider if we can have faith in Boris and his scientists.
Let's have your views on Twitter and Facebook please.
