The panel will discuss the recent school shootings and the psychological / emotional impact it is having in America....

The panel will discuss the mental impact these shootings are having in our schools in addressing or not addressing the impact in such high profile violence. This panel will discuss some solutions that are not being addressed and procedures that need to be in place across America. We will pay respect to the known and unknown Heros who work hard everyday to keep our schools safe.

The panel of Lt. Sam Clark- retired police Lt,  Newark, NJ, Expert Court witness in police matters, and author, Dr. Elbert Smith - retired NJ school Princpal, former NJ school board President and administrator, and Capt. Andrew Selby - retired Fire Captain Paterson NJ and 9/11 first responder, will discuss the history and current state of Black American People.

The panel have all fought against injustice in their professional fields and are on the record in court hearings and news artilces printed and televised fighting for equal rights of Black Americans. Americans because of the color of skin have been the target of slavery and then discrimination past to present!

This will be a discusion on the impact of how slavery and the laws, policies and procedures have all caused economic woes in Black areas of America, and very possible solutions to real problems!

Chief Rufus Jackson, (Chief of Newark, NJ) joins our panel (Ret.P.D. LT. Sam Clark, Dr. Elbert Smith, and Ret. FD Capt. Andrew Selby) will discuss the future of the fire service and Chief Jackson's vision to guide New Jersey's largest city.  The impact of public safety, consent decree, and career choices will be just some of the many topics, ideas and solutions that will be discussed and applied throughout the program!

Additionally the Justice Department report stated, concerns that the NPD's current suicide prevention, policies, practices, and training create an unacceptable suicide risk to future Green Street detainees if not corrected.

 

Why did so many high salaried members of upper management fail to detect serious misconduct that was a pattern and practice of the department. Who has been held accountable for the wide spread misconduct? Will effective changes be made to make certain these problems are not repeated?

According to published reports the U.S. Justice Department announced a federal monitor will watch over the Newark Police Department. The announcement followed the culmination of a three year review of the police department.

The review found several serious problems that were reasonably believed to be a pattern and practice of the department. Among the problems uncovered were violations of citizens Constitutional Rights, thefts by police officers, and excessive force.

Why did so many negative and unlawful department wide practices go undetected and unreported for such a lengthy period of time? Who has been held accountable for the wide spread misconduct? Will effective changes be made to make certain these problems are not repeated?

According to published reports, Jonathan Fleming served more than 24 years in prison after he was wrongfully convicted of a murder.

Compelling documentary evidence was presented that established that Jonathan Fleming was in Orlando Florida on vacation when the murder occurred. This documentary evidence was in the investigator's case file. Could this also be a case of police misconduct, or misconduct by the prosecutor?

According to published reports, two Bloomfield Police Officers were indicted after a dashboard video raised doubts about what they claimed occurred during an arrest.

The officers were charged with conspiracy, official misconduct, tampering with public records and false swearing. The charges were the result of an arrest incident that occurred in June of 2012.

According to published reports, Acting Police Chief James Behre spoke at a Bloomfield Municipal meeting and complained that Bloomfield Councilman Bernard wanted to allow two Hispanic officers to take the sergeant's examine early.  The acting chief also alleged that Councilman Bernard wanted a ticket fixed in order to solidify his position as police chief.  Acting Chief Behre has asked the city administration to call for an investigation by the  Attorney General's Office of New Jersey.

Less than 48 hours later he was placed on administrative leave and allegedly has been scheduled to take a psychological examination to determine his fitness for duty.

Is this action by the city administration an effort to obtain the truth and protect the citizens of Bloomfield, or is it an act of retaliation and an effort to hide the truth by discrediting the person making a complaint?
