In this episode with Jah Washington we gain insight into the many highs, lows, and many surprising opportunities that arose from being a personal trainer and entrepreneur in Harlem, NYC during the COVID pandemic.
Jahkeen (Jah) Washington is the CEO & Co-Founder of JTW FIT, the first and only black owned strength & conditioning studio in Harlem. As a Harlem native, Jah has made it his mission to provide quality and affordable fitness to his community. He believes fitness should be fun, accessible, and results driven. With this in mind, he has provided his members with a variety of training modalities that allows them to become proficient and well rounded. Jah’s love for kettlebells has become infectious as his members have fallen in love with them. Now he has everyone “uptown” swinging, cleaning, and snatching. Jahkeen just recently won Men’s Health Magazine’s “Next Top Trainer” and has been featured in their magazine and on their website.
