Today, I talk about how your purpose overcomes cynicism. If you always think of the worst-case scenarios, you will start talking yourself out of trying new things, but failure helps you learn to grow. Defeat is the best teacher! The mental process of choosing not to TRY something because you THINK you will fail is why most people never do the things they desire to do. Just show up. Emma Barnett graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in nursing. She graduated completely debt free, and Emma is a dear friend of mine that I've known for 7+ years. She runs a nearly  $1 million sales organization with the Southwestern Company and is an incredible young leader in the world!  We had an incredible discussion about why purpose is more important than your job, money, or major. In fact, it's so important that Emma didn't go into nursing even though that was her major, and she said no to more money in order to help others. Interviewing Emma was a total blast!  Remember, your major doesn't matter. Instead, it is a tool for your life. Your major doesn't run your life. You decide your life. And if you know your purpose, you will know what you should spend your time doing.
