  • 030 How to Craft an Offer and Sell It Fast - Part 1 Creating an Online Group Program

If you're ever wondered about creating an online group program you can run alongside your consulting or coaching practice, this episode will help. Working with clients 1:1 is great and can be very rewarding, but it doesn't have to be your entire business model.

Ideally you should have a mix of offers so you can work with more people. There are plenty of customers happy to get access to your knowledge in other ways, either because they love group programs or because they aren't yet at the point of affording or needing your personal attention.

When you only have a high-end consulting offer, you're limited to how many clients you can serve. When you create an online group program, there's no cap on your income, because you can design it to cater for high numbers. When you create an online group program, you're able to leverage your expertise and offer that package as many times a year as you want. You're able to work with more people while still having a premium option for those who want to work with you on a deeper level.

Create a profitable online group program by including a variety of courses, resources and peer support, and your expertise can be delivered in much more flexible and interactive ways. If you're ready to start serving more people, here's what we'll cover in part 1:

-- Ideation and Clarifying the Audience

    -- Packaging a Compelling Offer

    -- Navigating the Delivery Logistics

    -- Content Planning and e-tivities

    -- Mapping Your Implementation Workflow

First, we'll look at it from the perspective of your target market and talk about why people love group programs. • 026 Scalable Client Business Models for Transitioning 1:1 Consulting to a 1:Many Group Program

Scalable client business models are an increasing trend in the consulting and coaching industry. That's come about partly through forced digital transformation over the global pandemic, and also because working one-on-one with clients is one of the biggest bottlenecks in a consulting or coaching business's growth trajectory.

High-end 1-to-1 work is usually great income, as we're working at the top of the tree. Yet, over time that intense, high-end work can take its toll, especially with the added pressure to keep bringing in new clients or keep existing ones happy.

Leverage across various parts of your business, holds the key to finding work life balance and avoid entrepreneurial burnout. Last week, we revisited those themes and the different ways that leverage can ease the load, fuel our sense of joy and fulfilment and give us the freedom we seek through entrepreneurship.

With all the affordances and shifts in using digital tools, digital spaces, digital marketing and online delivery, many consultants and coaches and other expert service providers are looking to alternative ways to attract and work with clients. But it's not something you just flick a switch, it's a strategic change and takes a bit of planning and mental adjustment.

So with the backdrop of what we're aiming to achieve for our own work-life balance, working smarter not harder, in this episode, I'm sharing examples of how entrepreneurs are making that transition. In this episode, you'll hear:

Why dropping the one-to-one activities for client delivery and leveraging digital spaces, allows you to maintain revenue, influence and impact more people in less time, and still have time for yourself to enjoy your desired lifestyle.

How creating workflows is the first step to leveraging other people to help run your operations, sales and marketing, and onboarding.

What kinds of program design help create the most leverage so you can maintain the right balance of interaction with your participants without the intensity of done-for-you project work or individual coaching services.

How having boundaries enables you to land the kind of clients that are committed to working with your guidance to achieve the transformational turnaround they need.

  • 025 How to Avoid Entrepreneurial Burnout and Achieve Work-Life Balance

Are you controlling your business or is your business controlling you? How can you build a business and have a life outside of work? How we do achieve growth whilst avoiding entrepreneurial burnout and achieving balance?

Serving your purpose and generating great profits without stress, overwhelm and drama is the epitome of what I call a leveraged business. As an entrepreneur, working for yourself can be a tough and lonely gig and the pressure to grow the business doesn't stop even when you're doing well.

While being booked up and making multiple six figures may look great from the outside, if you're burned out on the inside, I wouldn't class that as success.

Even when you love your work, if your client work sets the schedule, when you're juggling lots of different balls, when life outside of work comes a poor second place, it may be time to rethink and remodel your work-life balance.

I'm on a mission to change that for consultants, coaches and other client-based practitioners who are looking to achieve better balance and avoid entrepreneurial burnout in their expert business.

In this episode, we're taking stock of what all this leverage is all for - what are we actually solving for? It's a taking stock, reflection on the different themes and topics we've covered so far on the show, looking into the different things you can leverage in your business architecture, and where the leverage points can be found in how you construct and run your business.

  • 024 How to Hire the Right Virtual Assistant and Use Outsourcing Strategies for Leveraged Business Growth with Selina Johnson

In this episode, I talk with Selina Johnson, founder of the VA agency Selina&Co, where we spill the beans on the outsourcing do's and don'ts.

Hiring a virtual assistant (VA) is probably one of the best investments you can make in your business. It's a key part of the SCALE model I talk about in my book as a way to build more leverage into your business. Having people in place who play a supporting role in your operations or do work that isn't in your wheelhouse (marketing, graphic design, copywriting etc) will free up your time to do the complex, high-end consulting or coaching work.

So, we're exploring why, how and when to hire a VA so you don't waste money or time getting it wrong and how to get yourself organised for a successful transition to managing a team. Because when you systematise your key operational processes, you augment both your solo work and the effectiveness of a team-based model for growth.

When you get hiring VAs right, the business gains are momentous. Benefits are an increase in quality and efficiency, because day-to-day stuff runs like clockwork by people who are good at those tasks and can keep a firm handle on marketing as well as standards and customer experience.

  • 023 How to Use Consultative Sales to Enrol Clients with Ease and Grace

In business today, the problem is not actually how to get the word out about what you do and what you have to sell; we have a multitude of communications channels and media platforms at our disposal, live and online. No: the problem is converting these audiences into great clients.

A lot of that depends on the "sales call". And how you think about sales and selling, even what you call that call in your mind's eye, can be really important to your success.

So in today's episode, I'm going to take you on a journey of how to lay the foundations for having a lovely experience in your enrolment conversations as well as mapping out a structure for the calls based on psychology of how people hate being sold to, yet love to buy.

When you drive sales with marketing content that's engaging and educational, and you take a consultative approach in the enrolment conversations you have with prospective clients, you will tend to always have positive discussions that lead elegantly to sign ups (i.e. sales).

Here's what you'll learn in this episode:

    • Why Expert Practitioners Hate Sales

    • Laying the Foundations for Sales

    • Client Dating and Asking the Big Question

    • Taking Consulting and Coaching into Sales

    • The Role of Coaching in Enrolment Conversations

    • The Mindset of Serving Not Selling

    • Focus on Eliciting Needs and Assessing the Fit

  • 022 How Your Professional Identity Can Make or Break Marketing a High-End Offer

Marketing a high end offer is closely linked to how you position yourself and attract clients to you. As a consultant, coach or other service provider selling your expertise directly to the marketplace, your professional identity is core to your success in business.

However, what a lot of consultants, coaches and service providers experience when they start a business is nothing short of an identity crisis. After a long and varied career, many of us find it SO hard to pin down what we're all about. Yet, this is a core piece of the marketing puzzle.

If you're feeling like a bit of a generalist or crafting a new kind of offer and want to get more clarity on this core dimension of marketing a high-end offer, tune in. These are all situations I've been in, seen others struggle with and helped my clients through.

And that's what we're tackling today on the show. In this episode, we dive into the big question of professional identity – the fusion between personal and business branding, it can be the missing link between marketing and making sales.
