The Liberal Dan Radio Program episodes

  • Ferry Tolls, Education, and Untested Methods
On the August 22nd episode of Liberal Dan Radio:
Well, the New Orleans City Council made a decision on what to charge for tolls to cross the river on a ferry. Thank you to the "stop the tolls" folks for screwing the ferry riders over. I will rant about that for a bit and why they couldn't simply find an alternate way to fund the ferries.

The past few weeks I have said that I would talk about education in New Orleans and why the charter school model is failing many different people. I will go into that topic as well.
Finally, I will be having Eric from Untested Methods on the show to discuss the new album that is dropping soon. This is a Liberal Radio exclusive, you won't want to miss it.
All that plus headlines, words of redneck wisdom, tweet of the week, and more tonight on Liberal Dan Radio: Talk from the left, that's right.

And remember, there are 9 days left to the Liberal Dan Radio Kickstarter. So make sure to contribute what you can. Anything is appreciated (even $1).

  • Income inequality, the maximum wage, and Rodeo Clowns
On the August 15th 2013 episode of Liberal Dan Radio:
It was bound to happen since I do not always agree with my fellow liberals. On this show I am going to touch on several subjects where I will be critical of some liberals.
The MSNBC show All In With Chris they are requesting stories about income inequality and are labelling the campaign "#maximumwage". It sounds like they are trying to solve the problems of the income inequality that happen in our country with setting a limit on how much someone can earn. I will go over some examples of what maximum wage supporters propose and why they absolutely will not work to solve income inequality.
On last week's show I really was unable to get into education as much as I should have. So I will be going over some of the problems that Orleans Parish is having with delivering services to children with developmental disabilities.
Finally, everyone is talking about the Obama clown. I will explain from the liberal point of view why everyone is completely overreacting about this.
Those topics, Words of Redneck Wisdom, Tweet of the Week, Headlines and more, tonight on Liberal Dan Radio: Talk From The Left, That's Right.
And remember, please help the show expand and contribute to the Kickstarter.

  • Steroids in Baseball, Ferry Tolls, and more...
On the August 8th episode of Liberal Dan Radio:
Alex Rodruiguez was just suspended through the end of the 2014 season and many others have also been suspended for their alleged use of prohibited substances. Is this right? Does Major League Baseball have some hypocrisy on the impact that these substances have on the game when other things that they do allow have extreme impacts on the game?
New Orleans is playing around with a horrible idea to fund the ferries. How could this have been stopped? What other examples would be better for ferry users? And what little nugget did I find on the stop the tolls website do I find most ironic?
New Orleans has some major failures when it comes to education. I will go into some of them as well.
The Liberal Dan Radio Kickstarter is still underway. Consider sponsoring the show or supporting it with contributions as low as $1.
Those topics, headlines, words of redneck wisdom, and more all tonight on Liberal Dan Radio: Talk From The Left, That's Right!

  • Miss Me?
After a week off Liberal Dan Radio comes roaring back.
What is going on in New York? Will Weiner surge back up in the polls and win the mayoral race? Does individual morality matter when it comes to elected office?
Another white man shot a black teen, this time in New Orleans. Why are people comparing Merritt Landry to George Zimmerman. Are there similarities? Are they different?
When are people going to get fed up with Fox News and their horrific bias? If they got any closer to jumping a shark, the hosts would all wear leather jackets and say "Ayyyy".
First Enron got a sweetheart deal, now Halliburton? Why would our government take it easy on them?
And finally I will go over what happened in one town when an individual decided that she didn't want to sit on a jury.
All that, Words of Redneck Wisdom, Headlines and more, August 1st at pm on Liberal Dan Radio, talk from the left, that's right!

  • Standing our ground against stand your ground laws
On tonight's episode of Liberal Dan Radio I will be discussing the verdict in the George Zimmerman case.
Was the ruling right or wrong? How bad did the jury mess things up?
Are the Florida self-defense statutes Constitutional? Do they satisfy the requirement of equal protection as guaranteed by the 14th amendment? Wasn’t it Trayvon Martin who stood his ground?
What would I have done had I been on the prosecution? What arguments would I have made in my closing statement?
Why are Conservatives going so crazy trying to make excuses for the ruling? Are they tripping all over their privilege?
How can I tie Bobby Jindal into all of this?
Is this a case where the justice system both worked as it should while also failing miserably? I will go into that seemingly contradictory statement as well.
Those topics and more, plus Words of Redneck Wisdom, headlines, and tweet of the week tonight on Liberal Dan Radio: Talk From The Left, That's Right!

  • More on Jindal's vetos (pt 2)
On Liberal Dan Radio for July 11, 2013:
Bobby Jindal has not only cut the budget when it comes to individuals with developmental disabilities, he has also cut funding for domestic violence and is draining the Elderly Trust Fund. Tonight I will speak with Bambi Polotzola (one of the grassroots supporters of the effort to override the veto). I will mostly focus on the funding for individuals with developmental disabilities. However, I will be making some comments on the other cuts.
I will also go into some of the issues I am having with the George Zimmerman trial.
Finally, even though the first Kickstarter failed, I have already turned around and started another one. You can back the Liberal Dan Radio Kickstarter here.

  • More on Jindal's veto (and more)
This week's Liberal Dan Radio will air on July 3rd at 8pm.
I will talk about several issues. At the end of the hour I will be talking with another member of the grassroots movement to override the Governor's veto of services for persons with developmental disabilities.
I will also be discussing the Algiers ferry with someone from Friends of the Ferry. The service hours of the Algiers ferry has been reduced significantly. Some people are thinking a lawsuit might be what is needed to stop this from happening.
If there is time I will also be discussing the sheer insantiy that is sweeping throug the GOP at the moment. They are obsessed and they cannot help themselves.
All that, headlines, words of redneck wisdom, and more on Liberal Dan Radio: Talk From The Left, That's Right!

  • More SCOTUS, Jindal Veto and... ENRON?!?!?
Thursday June 27th, 2013 on Liberal Dan Radio
Jeffrey Skilling, former Enron executive, was given a reduced sentence last week. You won't believe why.
A huge week for the Supreme Court this week. I will go into the issues of voting rights and marriage equality and point out the highs and lows of this week's rulings.
Also, I will be discussing the line item vetos that Louisiana Governor Jindal made to cut needed funding from Louisiana's children with special needs. On the show I will have activists from the grassroots organization Override The Veto.
Those issues, headlines, words of redneck wisdom, tweet of the week and more, this week on Liberal Dan Radio: Talk from the left, that's right.

And please do not forget to back the Liberal Dan Radio Kickstarter to help fund the show through the end of the year.

  • SCOTUS Recap
This Thursday on Liberal Dan radio I will be discussing the myriad of Supreme Court decisions made after the myriad decision. Many rulings were revealed on Monday. Of those I will at least discuss the ruling on voting rights in Arizona and on 5th amendment rights.
At the time of this posting there has been no ruling on prop 8 or DOMA. However, by the time the show airs on Thursday, many are speculating that those rulings will come down as well. So obviously I will be discussing those cases as well.
I will also be spending some time discussing the GOP obsession with Abortion bans. Just when you thought they couldn't get any more crazy...
I will also talk about David Vitter and both his amendment to the farm bill and his freudian slip about it.
Finally, I will be updating everyone on the Liberal Dan Radio  Kickstarter project that I created. Several new funding levels were started to give people a wider variety of options. So please, take advantage of it while it is still open for backers.
All that plus Words of Redneck Wisdom, Tweet of the Week, Headlines and more on Liberal Dan Radio: Talk from the left, that's right.

  • Kickstart My Heart
    Whoa! YEAH!
On tonight's show of Liberal Dan Radio I will discuss Edward Snowden. Is he a traitor? Is he a hero? Is he even relevant and is there a bigger story here? Is there a difference between Facebook collecting your data and the US Government doing it?
Also, the privatization of prisons is big money. As it turns out, it is also big money for the judges who send the kids there. Find out what (finally) happened to a judge in PA who did just that.
And finally, I will discuss the Liberal Dan Radio Kickstarter. What it means for you and how you can help the show.
All that, headlines, tweet of the week, words of redneck wisdom and more, tonight on Liberal Dan Radio: Talk From the Left, That's Right!
If you listen to the show on the podcast, comment at liberaldan.com.
UPDATE: SCOTUS made a ruling today about the ability to patent DNA. I will definitely be discussing this ruling as well tonight.
