  • Part Two of the Conversation with Therapist Paige Olson, MA, LPC

In part two, we explore the topic of caring for elderly parents with Paige Olsen, MA, LPC. We examine how boundaries play into this issue, and how we can both cope with it better if we are currently in this position, or better prepare for the eventuality of this position.

Tip from Paige: The earlier you can arrange a conversation about care preferences during ages, the better it will be. This goes for parents with their children, as well as children with their parents!

Tip From Mary: There is a major fork in the road during the years of the 40s and 50s- the choices you make can result in the fork of sickness and suffering or increased health and wellness. Choose wisely!

  • Three's a Crowd

In our inaugural episode, we explore the saying, “Three’s a Crowd” and how this idea affects our mindset and willingness to engage in the process of finding friends.

    Tips for Three’s a Crowd:

From Mary: Since recent studies have shown that one of THE MOST important health factors is having good relationships, take time to build healthy relationships just like you might take time to exercise and eat healthy foods and get good sleep.

From Katie:Yoga is about building connection and community, not about how flexible you are. A yoga class can be a great place to begin looking for friendships and healthy connections.

From Hope:Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) encourages you to change your negative thoughts, but a really good starting place is to simply notice when and how often you are having negative thoughts about a situation.

Meet the angry therapist, the cheating vegan, and the stiff yogi!
How a joke turned into a podcast idea...

Once upon a time, three friends started joking about challenges they faced despite their roles in the helping profession. The therapist got angry when she was too stressed, the PA who recommends a plant-based diet sometimes “cheated”, and the yoga teacher experienced body stiffness. If you struggle to be your best, but often fail, you're not alone! We want to help you as we honestly share about us.
