  • Manifesting Magic

In this week’s podcast episode, ‘Manifesting Magic’ I talk about manifestation and the law of attraction and how only last week was a great example of how it happened in my life.

It is a really interesting (and slightly out there) topic which often divides people. All I can show you is real life examples of how I and my family have manifested experiences into our reality and show how you can do it too.

I want you to be open minded to the concept of the law of attraction and ask and it is given mentality. It is not difficult, it is actually pretty easy but it takes conscious thought and consistency. It is a path of least resistance that works best as I share with you excerpts from the book, ‘Ask and It Is Given’ by Esther and Jerry Hicks

This is why children are extremely good at manifesting magic and being magical beings. It is an uplifting episode that might just get you thinking and acting in a different way.

What do you truly want from your garden design and/or landscaping business? And if all you had to do was ask and it was given, what would you ask for?

  • The Importance of Being Inspired For Your Business

In this week’s podcast episode, ‘The Importance of Being Inspired For Your Business’ I talk about an experience in my life that demonstrates just what one inspirational speaker did for three people and two businesses in the space of two years.

In 2021 I attended a local business show with my (then) business partner and stumbled into a talk given by an inspiring motivational speaker. Following this talk a few decisions happened and business changed considerably.

Fast forward to the same event 2022 and I attend with my husband Mike. Same inspiring motivational speaker, different talk but still more decisions made and businesses change.

It got me thinking about what it was about this speaker and these two talks that create such a change in our businesses and our lives and I believe it is because it is an opportunity to think and reflect on life and business and actually take on board an outsiders perspective. So I wanted to share a few takeaway’s from the talks here with you:

    1. Beware of how you spend your time topping up your energy and depleting your energy
    2. Make decisions quickly
    3. ‘Buy the Lurpak’
    4. Only you can help you
    5. Remember what or who you are doing all this for
    6. What is your why?
    7. Are you the past you, the present you or the future you?
    8. There are so many inspirational masterclasses and talks available to all TLC members on the Grow membership or above just check out www.thelandscaperscircle.co.uk/grow/

We also have another fantastic episode on this very podcast that should motivate and inspire you, a chat with Bryan M Clayton discussing how he took his landscaping business to 125 employees and sold it in 2013 https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/landscaper-to-tech-founder-with-bryan-m-clayton/id1501152607?i=1000559578146

    9. It's A 'S' Show

In this week’s podcast episode, It’s a ‘S’ Show I am discussing three factors that can move your business forward when the sh*t hits the fan and in normal circumstances too!

I am sharing a bit about what is happening in my life right now and how this has impacted on my businesses and what we can do to keep moving forward. It can be difficult to stay on track when external factors happen that you have no control over but there are three things that I did this week that ensured I did stay on track and has kept me in a positive frame of mind.

      1. Show up - keep showing up for your business in whatever way feels good for you
      2. Get supported - whether that be by family, friends, business coach or peers
      3. Get Sh*t done - exactly what it says just start getting stuff done
      4. There are always going to be problems that need navigating in life and business and the key is to focus on possible solutions not problems. The only way to get the space needed to do this is to get the support in order to show up, solve the problems and get sh*t done. Simple!

This leads me onto an important element of this topic - mindset. How do you get your mind back in the game? DECIDE to! That’s it. You just have to decide to show up, ask for or invest in the support and get sh*t done. You get to decide if you make a success of your

Listen in for much more on why these things are so important for your landscaping and garden design business.

      5. Distraction & Commitment

In this week’s podcast episode, I am discussing two important factors for your life and your business - Distraction & Commitment.

Beware this episode could be triggering but it will definitely give you food for thought!

I am sharing with you a calculation that will seriously challenge you, get you thinking about your distraction level and how managing distractions can seriously improve your landscaping and garden design business.

Whilst discussing distractions I touch upon boundaries and a previous episode goes into more detail click here to listen to the boundaries episode: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/setting-your-boundaries/id1501152607?i=1000558869942

Controlling your distractions is key to building your business and creating a life you love. This feeds into the thought that what you focus on grows and I go into more detail on this concept in the following episode, just click here to listen: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/what-you-focus-on-grows/id1501152607?i=1000576928801

This leads me onto the issue of the commitment. When we do not control our distractions and focus, then we can quickly begin to feel overwhelmed and stressed. This then impacts on how we show up for our commitments. Commitments can be anything from a 1:1 coaching call to group coaching sessions to completing that course you purchased to going out with your friends to finishing work early to see your family and much more. When you don’t show up for your commitments you are not fully committed to the decision you made.

Listen in for much more on this and why it is so important for your landscaping and design business to fully commit to your goals and your actions and reduce your distractions.

The Landscaper’s Circle doors to membership are now OPEN but the offering has changed significantly! Go check out: https://www.thelandscaperscircle.co.uk for a look at our ‘Business Roadmap’ and see where you fit.

      6. Fear, Patience & Relationships

In this week’s podcast episode, I am discussing my takeaways from being at The Landscape Show last week.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent exhibiting, attending, networking and speaking at The Landscape Show 2022 at the NEC Birmingham.

I find that attending these industry shows allows me to build on existing relationships, meet people in person, create connections and find new and exciting opportunities! But many can look upon these events from the ROI or return on investment perspective and make quick judgements.

When looking at the ROI for attending and/or exhibiting at an event like this you need to treat it like a customer of your own design and landscaping business. People will not make buying decisions immediately or quickly. It will most likely be months before you see the true ROI attending and exhibiting at an event like this brings.

I look at the following when I reflect on an event:

        1. Connections - what connections did I make at the event that I need to follow up on
        2. Building Relationships - what existing relationships did I build upon at the event
        3. Opportunities - what opportunities were created or could be in the pipeline
        4. Personal development - did I build upon my personal development journey by stepping outside my comfort zone or facing a fear?
        5. The other reason I like to attend these events is to support the industry. Without these events there are no opportunities to meet the people behind the zoom camera, social media profile or website. These events give us a fantastic opportunity to connect, collaborate and build our businesses and ourselves.

I spoke at the Landscape show this year, my first public speaking gig EVER. It was scary, it made me anxious for days before and it filled me with fear whenever I thought about it. BUT everything you have ever wanted is on the other side of fear. So, I faced my fear and did it anyway. Nothing bad happened, people actually listened and I felt a huge leap in my own personal development journey had been achieved. So much so that I have said yes to next year!

The point is there will be something in your life today that you are scared of facing or doing and I challenge you to face the fear and do it anyway! Take a leap of faith in yourself today! If you do need support in your business then drop me a DM or email. As I said in this episode am not here to hard sell anyone the services and benefits of joining TLC I just want you to know that I am here if you need me and the right people will become part of the TLC Tribe ;)

        6. 9 years, same issues

In this week’s podcast episode I am sharing with you the difference 9 years makes …or not!

Do you ever feel like things haven’t changed? Well, I stumbled across some team meeting notes from October 2013 and the stuff we discussed then is still being discussed now! It got me thinking what stuff doesn’t change from one year to the next in your business? Who is responsible and why doesn’t it change?

This episode attempts to answer these questions!

Although it was was entertaining looking back on the notes from 9 years ago, it was quite interesting to look at why the same issues are still occurring. Now don’t get me wrong, many companies have recurring issues, and when you listen to this episode as a landscaper you will almost certainly have encountered these or relate to these problems. But how do we go about changing?

There really is no-one to blame but ourselves! We are the business owners and leaders and we need to lead our teams into success. This starts with three things beginning with ‘C’:

          1. Communication
          2. Consistency
          3. Consequences
          4. There should be good comunication around expectations and results, consistency in that communication and consequences should expectations not be achieved. Simple really. Yet I have struggled to set aside the time to communicate on a consistent basis and I have held back on delivering the consequences sometimes through fear of staff backlash.

Let this episode be a reminder of why you need regular, consistent communication with your team.

          5. The Art Of Letting Go

In this week’s podcast episode I am talking about the art of letting go.

Do you often get stressed when things seem to be going wrong for your business? Have you gone through a period of change which has caused you to feel ‘out of sorts’?

This episode promises to be a good one.

Over the last few weeks/months I have navigated a huge period of change in both my businesses; Aura Landscapes and The Landscaper’s Circle. People have left the businesses and I have had to let some people go in order to save my business. Both create an element of turbulence in your life despite if you are certain it is for the best.

When you are making decisions like these in your business you need to then let go. Let go of the increased responsibility and expectation that will fall to you, let go of the decision itself and the comebacks, let go of the fear, let go of anything that doesn’t work for you and let go of the stress that will inevitably follow.

          6. Time Management Aaarrrggghhh

In this week’s podcast episode I am talking about time management and some tips on how to manage your time more effectively and increase productivity.

Do you often  feel like you have no time to work on you business? Do you feel like you struggle to manage your time properly? Do you get overwhelmed with the tasks that pile up being a business owner?

If you said yes to any of the above you NEED to listen to this weeks episode.

This week I planned my week (as I do on the regular) however, I have now realised being that it is Wednesday I have planned it unrealistically. I truly thought I could get more done than I can and getting back into the back to school routine is hard!

Here are some tips for you (and me) on time management:

            1. Plan your week on the Sunday before and the tasks you need to complete within the week.
            2. Once you have planned your week, you need to prioritise the tasks which need to be done for example payroll has to be done on a certain day of the month.
            3. You need to avoid distractions for example I turn my phone on aeroplane mode when I am doing something needs my complete focus so that I don’t get distracted with an email or message notification.
            4. Can you outsource or delegate any tasks which you cannot do quickly or that will free up your time doing something else that brings the money in?
            5. You need to be mindful of YOU time, this could be going to the gym, going on your daily hour walk, reading, seeing friends etc (the list is endless). This is an activity which makes you feel good to improve your wellbeing, which in turn will improve focus in order to run your business better.
            6. Time is money and you need to utilise your time to the best of your ability.

            7. Want Faster Results in Your Business?

In this week’s podcast episode I am talking about how easy it is to get quicker results in your business.

Focusing on what you can control is going to help you move forward instead of dwelling on the things you cannot change.  There are a number of ways to get quicker results in business:

Work with a coach or mentor

I personally have a business coach who understands my business and me who has the expertise and experience to help me in my business. I find working with someone who is outside of the business, super valuable as they can make you think about your goals, give clear guidance and offer ideas and new ways to get there.

              Join us!

The Landscaper’s Circle is a community of like minded people and me who are here to help you with your business and give you guidance when needed. Check out the waitlist link below to be the first to know when we reopen our doors (not long now!)

              Put yourself out there!

You have to get in front of your client more than once for them to really know who you are in order to buy. They need to know, like and trust you! Don’t worry about being too sales either.

              Respond quickly & professionally

Are you responding to all enquiries when they come in, do you have a auto responder set up when you don’t answer or are on holiday? If you do not reply to an enquiry quickly then the potential client has most probably found another landscaper and started their journey with them.

              Follow up always!

Have you been following up open quotes consistently? These follow ups can start the conversation again (if it’s gone quiet) with you and the client to book in their dream garden or they can let you know where they stand with you so then you’re not wasting your precious time.

RECAP: If you’re looking for faster results then look to find a coach or mentor to help you, find your people, respond quickly, follow up consistently and show up everywhere!

Our brand new course From The Ground Up is now available to join, it is perfect if you need help starting up your business and building a brand new business.

              Early bird offer ends tomorrow!
