New social media updates:
New Instagram Search tool - allows you to search by term (information in captions). With this, you need to be putting your hashtags in the caption and not in the first comment.
Link Sticker - Replacing the Swipe Up feature, Instagram are rolling out a Link Sticker. This is a button on your stories to link to external web pages. They haven’t confirmed whether this will be added for everyone under 10,000 followers.
LinkedIn are removing stories - You may want to save your stories so you don’t lose them.
Sensitive Content Control - You can go into your Instagram settings to turn on sensitive control to stop showing you posts which may affect you.
Captions Sticker - In your stickers when you post a story you can automatically generate captions if you are speaking in a video. (this will allow your followers with sound turned off to see what you are saying)
Reshare sticker - There is a reshare sticker where you can share posts (that you have recently viewed, saved or posted) on your story. You will need a base story, you could create a background in Canva or use the Instagram colour gradient background. (Note: This is being tested on accounts so not everyone will have this at the moment)You can reach a new audience by asking them to share and tag people in the comments.
Also you could collaborate with another account to reach their audience by saying Follow @me and @ to enter this giveaway and tag 3 people in the comments.
How to do an effective giveaway:
You need a marketing goal - do you want to grow your following? Promote a product? Give back to your community? Increase engagement? Collaborate with another brand? Boost brand awareness?
Prize - make sure your prize is attractive to your followers.
Entry Criteria - how long will your giveaway be open before? A few days to a week is advised. Specify closing date and time zones as you may have followers from around the world. Is there an age limit? Also include Instagram terms and conditions.
Promote- Go BOLD with the graphics, make it clear it’s a giveaway.
