We're taking a deep dive into one of the stories in The Silmarillion and looking at the nitty-gritty details. We also nerd out about the different maps in Josef's super cool, super fancy copy of The Silmarillion. Don't forget, you can get more bonus content like this by joining our Patreon! Today the SibNerds are talking about Chapters 1 - 6!

We're excited to see how the magic system will develop and to learn more about the art of tea magic! And we're already endeared to Ning and her family! We both utilized the audiobook for this week and had a hard time tracking with the narration, so we'll both be leaning heavily on the physical copies of the books in the future. Next time we'll be discussing Chapters 7 – 12! Happy Reading!

Today the SibNerds are talking about Chapters 11, 12, & Epilogue!

In addition to discussing the last section of the book, we also give our general thoughts on the book.

The ending felt rushed. We both would have liked to spend some more time in Sabetha's POV—mostly because that could have better explained her final move.

That Epilogue though. Oh boy, that Epilogue.

What were your final thoughts?

Our next read along is A Magic Steeped in Poison by: Judy I. Lin! Happy Reading!

Today the SibNerds are talking about Chapters 9 & 10!

Holy cow, that Locke reveal has got us reeling. Is it real? Can Patience be trusted? What do you think?

That tension between Locke and Sabetha is back… but they seem to be making some adult steps in repairing their relationship. Time will tell! (But not too much time, this book is almost done!)

Do you have any theories on how this story is going to wrap up?

Today the SibNerds are talking about Chapter 7!

This chapter is all about Jean and Locke getting onto the jolly boat and away from the ship Sabetha put them on. It's always fun to watch our boys work! And the interlude was a fun little look at the theater troupe…and a glimpse at Locke and Sabetha's budding romance!
