Poison in this universe seems to have a mind of its own, and it's super creepy. Kang made an appearance in this section… and boy was that an appearance. Did you see his betrothal coming? Today the SibNerds are talking about Chapters 25 - 31!

Maybe the princess is good after all? Maybe not? We're not sure. What do you think?

We get to see Ning step into her element and heal Ruyi using medicinal elements from her mother and her father's training. It was visceral and mystical, and very cool to finally see how the magic can work in the world.

And where in the world is Kang???

Let's take another jaunt down memory lane! Today the SibNerds are talking about some of their favorite PBS shows from when they were kids. Were you a PBS kid? Did you have a favorite show? Also, shout out to the "space kids" show Anna mentioned—it was Cyber Chase! And we also forgot to mention Wishbone! A gross oversight! And a small update on some Skittles lore! Today the SibNerds are talking about Chapters 18 - 24!

We're still debating whether Steward Yang is a reliable source of information. Is the princess or Kang more trustworthy? Who chose to reveal the emperor's death? So many questions! What are your thoughts?

We come to understand why Ning feels like everything she touches is ruined. She's insecure and has some mental blocks she needs to overcome—and boy do we feel for her!

Also, those food descriptions are making us HUNGRY!!!

Today the SibNerds are digging into the idea of evil races in Fantasy stories. Why has this trope developed? Is it good or bad? Is it morally neutral? Is it racist? Are there instances when it's acceptable? We're digging into all that and more! Let us know your thoughts in the comments! The book Anna referenced is called The Dark Fantastic: Race and the Imagination from Harry Potter to the Hunger Games by: Ebony Elizabeth Thomas. Anna is reading: - A Magic Steeped in Poison by: Judy I. Lin - Show Me a Sign by: Ann Clare LeZotte - Nimona by: N.D. Stevenson - Cloud Atlas by: David Mitchell - The Hobbit by: J.R.R. Today the SibNerds are talking about Chapters 13 - 17! Tea was spilled! (bahaha) We have more rules regarding the magic system, which helps us to better understand the world that Ning is moving through. This information also supports Kang's suspicion that there's something special about Ning… What do you think? Who is Ning's biological father? Does she have special abilities? Also!!! After looking up the storyline of Snow White, Anna wasn't totally off base! According to a quick Google search, Snow White was born into a royal family and then her father remarries a mean (jealous) queen. Her father suspiciously dies and Snow White is left alone with the Evil Queen. You probably know the rest from here! Next time we'll be discussing Chapters 18 - 24! Happy Reading!

Today the SibNerds are talking about Chapters 7 - 12!

So many things happened in this section! There's the first round of competition, and added layers of intrigue! So much intrigue!

We have some suspicions about Bo's role in some of these shenanigans… what do you think?

Also, a koi fish in the belly is our new fave way to describe the way anxiety feels!

Next time we'll be discussing Chapters 13 - 17!
