Come meet one of The Young and the Restless’s newest cast members, Kelsey Wang in The Locher Room.Kelsey joined the cast in March of this year as Allie Nguyen, the granddaughter of Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).

Kelsey was born in Beijing, China. She lived in Beijing and Singapore before moving to the United States at the age of seven. She is a graduate of Duke University and attended the Yale School of Drama’s YSD Summer Conservatory. Her theater credits include the role of Liuli in the U.S. Premiere of “Chimerica” (2014 Olivier and Evening Standard Award for Best Play) at the Studio Theater in Washington, D.C. and the lead role of Daiyu in in Pan Asian Repertory Theater's production of “A Dream of Red Pavilions”. Television credits include the recurring role of Daisy Kwan on “General Hospital”, Netflix’s “Daredevil” and the dual language pilot, “Journey to the East”.

Kelsey and I go back a few years when we worked together at On Location Tours, a TV & movie tour in NYC. I’ll let Kelsey tell you what tour she hosted and have a little fun to see if she remembers her trivia questions from the tour.

She accepted a scholarship from New York University at 15 to pursue a major in dance.

Actor Frank Grillo and I sat down for an interview in The Locher Room to discuss his latest project Paradise Highway currently in theaters now. He is best known for playing Crossbones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His incredible body of work spans decades and highlights include WARRIOR, DISCONNECT, END OF WATCH, THE GREY, INTERSECTION, EDGE OF DARKNESS, ZERO DARK. His new film Paradise Highway stars Academy Award® winners Juliette Binoche and Morgan Freeman leading this riveting thriller set in the trucking industry and its seamy underbelly of human trafficking. To save the life of her brother (Frank Grillo), Sally (Binoche), a truck driver, reluctantly agrees to smuggle illicit cargo: a girl named Leila (Hala Finley). As Sally and Leila begin a danger-fraught journey across state lines, a dogged FBI operative (Freeman) sets out on their trail, determined to do whatever it takes to terminate a human-trafficking operation — and bring Sally and Leila to safety.

The film is about the power of human connection – about the damage that can be done when children are disconnected from the rest of society, and about the goodness that can prevail when it is rekindled.

John joined the cast of Ryan’s Hope as neurosurgeon Dr. Seneca Beaulac in 1975 and earned a Daytime Emmy nomination for that role in 1980. John and his wife, actress Sandy Gabriel (All My Children) were married in 1968 and would have celebrated their 53rd anniversary on June 23. John passed away on June 11, 2021.

Joining us to look back at John’s career are Ryan Hope’s cast mates Michael Corbett (Michael Pavel, Jr.), Ilene Kristen (Delia Reid), Kelli Maroney (Kimberly Harris), Geoff Pierson (Frank Ryan) and Louise Shaffer (Rae Woodard). In addition to his former castmates, John’s two daughters Andrea and Melissa Gabriel will be here to share their memories of their dad.

Emmy Award-winning actress Kristen Alderson will join me in The Locher Room to look back at her time playing Starr Manning on One Life to Live, and for playing Starr and originating the role of Kiki Jerome on General Hospital. She was most recently seen as Abigail in the campy serialized drama Mélange presented by LOGO TV.

In addition to her roles in daytime, Kristen has enjoyed a career on stage in Broadway’s Annie, Off-Broadway’s The Marvelous Wonderettes playing opposite real-life boyfriend Taylor Crousore and most recently, the real-life couple appeared in Newsical The Musical at the Majestic Repertory Company in Las Vegas.

Please join Emmy-winner Beth Maitland in The Locher Room to celebrate the 40th anniversary of her debut as Traci Abbott on CBS’s The Young and the Restless.

Beth made her debut in 1982 and in 1985 she was awarded a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She received a second nomination for her work in 2019.

Beth recently appeared in the film, Number Two. She appeared in an Emmy-nominated episode of Criminal Minds, and she portrayed the deaf school principal both signing and speaking her role in Mr. Holland’s Opus with Richard Dreyfuss and Glenne Headly.

Another highlight of her career was appearing with Carol Burnett and Hal Holbrook in an ABC production of Plaza Suite, and an opera singing episode of the Love American Style reboot with Tony Dow.

This June, The Young and the Restless marked the 40th anniversary since Y&R fans were first introduced to Traci and her sister Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson).

Jennifer Herrera is the chief communications officer for the National Women’s History Museum, where she oversees all public affairs, marketing, and media relations efforts. In this role, Herrera leads the Museum's work with external partners, the NWHM National Coalition, and other key regional and national stakeholders.

Artist, Author and Actor Leigh J. McCloskey will join me in The Locher Room to look back at his acting career that spans four decades.

Leigh is known to daytime audiences for his roles on Santa Barbara (Ethan Asher), General Hospital (Damian Smith), The Young and the Restless (Dr. Kurt Costner) and One Life to Live (Drake Faraday).

In addition to his daytime TV roles, he starred in three primetime series, the hit show Dallas where he played Mitch Cooper for two seasons and returned to the show as a guest star numerous times. Leigh also appeared in several feature films, including Inferno, directed by the Italian master of the macabre, Dario Argento. He starred in the popular cult classic, Bermuda Depths, and many others.

Leigh guest starred on numerous primetime shows including, Bones, Third Rock from the Sun, Star Trek Voyager and Deep Space Nine to name a few. He also starred in a number of made for television movies, including playing Kris Kristopherson’s son in Troubleshooters: Trapped Beneath the Earth, Terror in the Shadows with Genie Francis, Accidental Meeting with Linda Grey and two of the highest rated TV films ever, Dawn: Portrait of a Teenage Runaway and Alexander: The Other Side of Dawn (in which he played the title character).

Leigh was also the spokesman for the Max Factor fragrance California for Men working with Jaclyn Smith and Jane Seymour. His last theater performance was in 2006 playing the role of Trigorin in The Seagull by Anton Chekov, at the Odyssey Theatre.
