  • Guiding Light - Nicole Forester Interview 5-12-2021
Actress Nicole Forester was my guest in The Locher Room on May 12, 2020 to reminisce about her time playing "Cassie" on Guiding Light and fill us in on what she's been up to since leaving the soap.

Nicole spent 13 years in Los Angeles, acting in television, commercials, and film before moving to the Big Apple. Within her first 3 months of arrival, she booked 3 national commercials and was offered the coveted 3-year contract to play “Cassie” when actress Laura Wright left the show and headed to the west coast.

During her 3 years on Guiding Light Nicole worked on over 300 episodes covering a variety of storylines, including the tragic death of her daughter "Tammy," for which she earned a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2008.

Shortly after her contract on Guiding Light ended, Nicole got married, moved from NYC to her (and her husband’s) home state of Michigan, and gave birth to a daughter, then, 20 months later, a son. Their family of four are thriving in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where they are surrounded by family and friends, and Nicole gladly commutes to film and tv sets near and far.

Since leaving Guiding Light, Nicole has continually worked in primetime television and movies. She can be currently seen in the recurring role of "Christie" on Chicago Fire. She starred opposite Kelsey Grammer in the Starz critically acclaimed series, Boss, opposite Richard Gere in The Double, opposite Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher to name a small few.

  • Conversations with Alan - My Father's Story 5-5-2021
Please join me for the seventh episode of Conversations with Alan where I will share my father's story of survival during the Holocaust in The Locher Room on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 (Liberation Day). The truth about the Holocaust is that I am lucky to be alive. My life story could have turned out so differently if not for some very brave men and women who risked their lives and the lives of their families to save both my mother and my father when the Nazi's began rounding up Jews in Holland during World War II.

Tonight, I will share my father’s personal story which I didn't know much about. All I knew up was what my father shared in his interview with the SHOAH Foundation back in 1996. Tonight, you will hear some of that interview from my father - in his own words. 61 years after the war ended we received a phone call from Johan DeBoer and learned that Johan’s family gave refuge to my grandparents risking all of their lives. The DeBoer's family were also responsible for reuniting my father with his parents when he arrived by train through the underground. Johan called our home in 2006 to tell us about the story his family had written about my family's experience during WWII and to share that story with all of us. You will hear some of that story in this episode.

  • Mike Shoreman - Crash and Rise From Victim to Thriving Survivor 4-29-2021
Please come and meet the inspiring Mike Shoreman, "The Unbalanced Paddleboarder," in The Locher Room. While on a trip to India, Mike Shoreman stood before the Ganges River, and awakened his passion of inspiring others on the water. He returned home and became a professional paddle boarding coach, teaching stand-up paddleboarding and running a successful business. His dream of sharing his gift with students became a reality.

Then one morning, his world changed and a sudden neurological condition called Ramsay Hunt Syndrome woke him up in excruciating pain. With a collapsed face, extreme vertigo, and the inability to walk properly, Mike thought his budding paddleboarding career had come to an abrupt end. Hopelessness enveloped him as he began to grieve his old life.

Instead, Mike Shoreman channeled his pain into purpose. He used positive thinking to reverse the fall he was taking . He got back up and stepped bravely into a life that looks nothing like the one he had originally planned. He wrote “Diaries of The Unbalanced Paddleboarder: Crash and RISE: From Victim to Thriving Survivor” to highlight what it truly means to crash and rise again by transcending mental and physical limitations in order to share his light with the world.
