  • Untitled Horror Movie (UHM) 6-9-2021
Come meet the incredible filmmakers and actors behind the Untitled Horror Movie, a comedy about making a horror movie, in The Locher Room. Joining me for the show are writer / director Nick Simon, writer / co-star Luke Baines (Declan), editor Don Money and actress Katherine McNamara (Chrissy).

The film is from the director who brought you, Truth or Dare(2017), Nick Simon. When six co-stars learn their hit TV show is about to be cancelled, they decide to shoot their own movie - after all, how hard can it be? Stuck for a plot, they unintentionally summon a demonic spirit with an affinity for violence that starts picking them off, one vapid actor at a time.

The film was made during quarantine without any actor or the director ever meeting…each actor set up his / her own lights, did their own makeup, and ran their own cameras. The film will have its worldwide live stream premiere on Saturday, June 12th and will be available for everyone on June 15th (Digital / VOD).

The film stars Luke Baines (Shadowhunters), Darren Barnet (Never Have I Ever), Tim Granaderos (13 Reasons Why), Claire Holt (Vampire Diaries), Katherine McNamara (Shadowhunters), Emmy Raver-Lampman (The Umbrella Academy), Kal Penn (Harold and Kumar go to White Castle), Aisha Tyler (Friends), Kevin Daniels (Council of Dads), Lesly Kahn (Quantum Leap), Sohm Kapila (Jane The Virgin).

Please join Tyler Parks, the star, co-creator and executive producer of the new dystopian web series, Indemnity: The Rabbit Hole in The Locher Room. Joining Tyler for the interview will be his co-stars actresses Candice Coke and Jacqueline Nwankwo.

“Indemnity: The Rabbit Hole” follows Austin Ellis (Tyler Parks), an off-grid tech wiz and self proclaimed ‘reality-theorist’, as he races to find his AWOL parents before vaccine mogul, Delilah Green (Zoë Yeoman) forces their return, using nothing but his memories from childhood and stolen Indemnity Points.

Tyler Parks is an American actor, singer-songwriter, and dancer best known for his appearances on Westworld (HBO) , Dear White People (Netflix), Ride (Helen Hunt), and indie acclaimed film The Perfect Sacrifice. Tyler can also be seen in national commercials for Sprint, McDonalds, Nissan, Old Navy, and Range Rover. In addition to his acting career, and after years of writing and recording music for other music artists, Tyler released his first music album titled REHAB in which he takes his listeners through the healing process after his traumatic breakup.

Candice Coke began her career dancing in the states and internationally for icons like Michael Jackson, Prince, Biggie Smalls, Ricky Martin and many others. After booking over 20 national commercials and finding her way into the Independent Film world, Candice eventually made the transition to Los Angeles where she has been successfully working in Film and Television. She was featured in the iconic opening scene of the Oscar winning movie La La Land, she had a recurring role on the hit FOX show Proven Innocent, and is now currently co-starring in Kevin Can F*** Himself with Schitt’s Creek’s Annie Murphy for AMC.

Jacqueline Nwankwo is a Nigerian-American actress and model. She graduated from Temple University majoring in Theatre with a secondary concentration in African American Studies. Jacqueline has performed in several plays across Philadelphia as well as off Broadway in New York’s Strawberry One-Act Festival. In 2012, Jacqueline moved from Philly to Los Angeles to pursue a career in television and film. • It's Not A Burden - The Humor and Heartache of Raising Elderly Parent 6-4-2021
Please join me for a very special episode celebrating the release of the beautiful new documentary, It’s Not A Burden: The Humor and Heartache of Raising Elderly Parents in The Locher Room.

Joining the conversation are Emmy-nominated filmmaker Michelle Boyaner (Writer / Director), Executive Producer Aaron Lustig who played Dr. Tim Reid on The Young and the Restless along with two of the film’s subjects Maxine Lapidus and Brother Ken Curley. In the film, Maxine’s mother Esther is a larger-than-life entertainer who still has a lot of performing up her sleeve and her daughters Maxine & Sally do everything they can to make sure she has an audience. Brother Ken cared for his mother, but he also cared for a group of retired brothers at the Holy Family Community. Brother Ken also performed with Maxine’s mother Esther and has known their family for decades.

Rounding out the show will be pop-folk singer Danielle Ate The Sandwich who will perform one of the featured songs from the film.

    ABOUT THE FILM:

Emmy-nominated filmmaker Michelle Boyaner (HBO’s Packed in a Trunk) shares her complex and devastatingly tender journey caring for her long-divorced aging parents– her mother Elaine, who abandoned the family and left then 19-year-old Michelle to help raise her 5 younger siblings and is now faced with dementia, and her father Morris, once a brilliant Aerospace Engineer and now a hoarder unable to navigate his own world. A diverse mix of other families are woven in, each with their own unique challenges. Among them, you’ll meet Esther, an entertainer whose daughters bring love and laughter to her last act, and Mike, who helps his mother Florence while raising teenagers as a single father. With humor and heart, the film explores not only the frustrations and fears, but also the transformative bonds that happen when familial roles are reversed. Is it a burden or a blessing? Maybe a little of both.

  • Conversations with Alan - BD Wong and Jose Llana 5-26-2021
Please join me for the eighth episode in the Conversations with Alan series in The Locher Room for an in-depth discussion about Asian / Pacific American Heritage Month and the rise of violence, xenophobia and bigotry against the Asian / Pacific community resulting from the COVID19 pandemic. Joining me for this conversation are well known actors Jose Llana and BD Wong.

Both of these talented men are outspoken about the rise of violence aimed at the Asian / Pacific community and are staunch supporters of the Stop AAPI Hate campaign. In March, Stop AAPI Hate released a report examining incidents that took place over roughly a year during the coronavirus pandemic. It revealed that the number of incidents reported surged from 3,795 to 6,603. Verbal harassment made up the vast majority of reports at 65 percent. Shunning, defined as the “deliberate avoidance of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders,” was the second most common form of discrimination at 18 percent, while physical assault comprised the third largest category at 13 percent.

I hope you’ll join BD, Jose and I for this important conversation about a topic very close to all our hearts. We must come together as one to understand the varying experiences other people go through. Let us open our eyes and our hearts to other people of varying races and religions.
