  • Michelle Danner - Interview 8-11-2021
Subscribe to The Locher Room: https://bit.ly/TheLocherRoom

Michelle Danner is a director, a performer, a teacher, a storyteller and an entrepreneur and she will join me in The Locher Room to discuss her incredible career.

The legendary acting teacher and co-founder of the Edgemar Center for the Arts and the Los Angeles Acting Conservatory, Danner’s also now well-established as a successful feature film director. Danner’s recent film “Bad Impulse,” is a psychological thriller about family secrets and modern technology, starring Sonya Walger, Grant Bowler, and Paul Sorvino. The film recently won Best Narrative Feature at the 2019 International Independent Film Awards and the Best Director Award at the 2019 Culver City Film Festival.

Her upcoming film “The Runner,” was filmed before the pandemic started. The action thriller and true-life coming of age story stars Cameron Douglas and newcomer Edouard Philipponnat as a troubled teenager forced to go undercover to expose a drug kingpin.

A dedicated mom (with one son who is an aspiring filmmaker), Danner still has her “day job” – overseeing the faculty of the Los Angeles Acting Conservatory, and conducting her weekly acting class. Danner’s list of students has included Christian Slater, Salma Hayek, Gerard Butler, Seth McFarlane, Penelope Cruz, Chris Rock, Gabrielle Union, and Zooey Deschanel. A longtime student of legendary acting teachers like Stella Adler and Uta Hagen, Danner’s eclectic approach (which she calls “The Golden Box”) allows actors the freedom to employ a wide variety of techniques.

Raised in a show business family and with a deep appreciation for all of the performing arts, Danner also continues to run the boutique “Cinema at the Edge” film festival and is currently preparing to direct a new one-person play, Bonnie Culver’s “Norris,” starring Anne Archer, based on the memoirs of the widow of writer Norman Mailer.

Simply put, there’s almost no one in the business who knows as much about acting and success as Michelle Danner – and her continued success in multiple creative fields makes her one of the most successful women working in the industry today.

  • Voice Legend - Rob Paulsen 8-6-2021
Subscribe to The Locher Room: https://bit.ly/TheLocherRoom

Rob Paulsen, one of Hollywood’s busiest, most talented, and most passionate performers who specializes in the art of voice acting, a career that has earned him a Daytime Emmy, three Annie Awards, and a Peabody Award will join me in The Locher Room.

You know Rob Paulsen? You probably grew up with Rob Paulsen. Your kids are growing up with Rob Paulsen. Name not familiar? What about Pinky from “Pinky and the Brain”? Yakko from “Animaniacs”? A martial-arts expert turtle named Raphael? That’s Rob!

Not only that, but Ron's own story over the last few years has provided him with new inspiration: after a startling diagnosis of throat cancer, followed by an aggressive treatment and recovery regimen, Paulsen is cancer-free and back doing what he loves, with a deep appreciation of what he almost lost.

His recovery is marked by some remarkable news regarding his most beloved projects. Rob will be back on the road with “Animaniacs in Concert!” a raucous celebration of animation, music, and comedy where the show’s best-loved songs (by composer and fellow “Animaniacs in Concert!” performer Randy Rogel) are performed alongside the cartoons in concert and symphony halls across the country and new “Animaniacs” episodes will begin airing on Hulu late last year.

With his new lease on life giving him an even deeper perspective on the meaning of his work, Paulsen has rededicated himself to bringing joy and happiness to his fans, particularly the ones who inspired him along the way. Having made hundreds of friends among sick children and their families over the course of his career, their stories provided him with great hope and determination during his recent health scare, and he’s already finding more ways to give back. He talks about this in his 2019 memoir, “Voice Lessons,” from Start Publishing.

Join soap industry legend Michael Fairman in The Locher Room. Michael will be here to tell us about his new single, “Better Late Than Never”, the fun new virtual game show he created, Soap Opera Know-it-All, and the duality of working on a career in the music business and in daytime.

“Better Late Than Never” builds on Michael Fairman’s previous releases, “Thing About Me” “Can’t Let You Go” and “Other Side”; four songs about the seemingly insurmountable challenges faced by the underdog, whether at love or in life. Michael’s songs are often-anthemic in nature and while they reflect on the harsh realities of the human condition, they offer positive messages of inspiration that can fit into listeners’ own life stories, encouraging them to feel and know that they are not alone. Check out the dance remix out now.
