Abruzzo might not be the #1 tourist destination in central Italy, but it produces some fantastic wines. Kathryn talks about what makes this place special and the grape varietals that grow there. The baby is here! Kathryn & Tug have a new guest this week. He is a dreamy little guy - sleeping and eating all the time, which is more than can say about their middle child. Kathryn and Tug recount his arrival and the beginnings of life with 3 kids. They’re celebrating Kathryn’s return to enjoying wine with a bottle of Champagne. There’s never a bad time for bubbles, but this is the only thing to bring when gathering with dear friends, toasting to family reunions again, perhaps a college graduation, or just some holiday weekend fun. Tug is excited to finally talk about one of his all time favorite grape varieties, Grüner Veltliner! Austria’s claim to fame in wine, this white grape varietal is most similar to Sauvignon Blanc or Riesling, but has unique characteristics all its own.
