The Lore Lads

It is a common theme of European folklore that the beings which inhabit forests bear some resemblence to the stag. Be it the Leshy, the Europeanized Wendigo, or the Horned God Cernunnos, what drives us to depict some creatures in this way? We dive into the history of the Horned Beast, and the many iterations that we have seen. The disappearance of Stacy Arras is one of the more intriguing Missing 411 cases. Not because it is so baffling or inexplicable, but because it was handled in so strange a manner. Stacy's last words with her father, her choice of companion, and especially records of the incident, make no sense. Furthermore, the Department of the Interior maintains that this is an ongoing matter, despite the fact that it is not currently under any investigation. Is David Paulides being stonewalled, or do the accusations of his dishonesty hold water? Most people who know our guest today know them from their TikTok, howdyhowdyyall1, which chronicles life as a college student who also happened to be raised in a cult. Tonight, we dive into the reality of cults in the United States, and discuss how these strange - and sometimes dangerous - communities form, grow, and function. Tom Messick is out on a hunting trip, and he hasn't been home in a few days...2,436 days, to be exact. We covered the disappearance of Tom Messick for our very first episode of Into Thin Air, and there was quite a bit to uncover. We're breaking down our trip, what we learned, what was left out of the original story, and what is beginning to feel like a plausible theory regarding the Missing 411 phenomenon, or at least some of the cases: feral people. In the Book of Job, the Devil went down to Edom, he was looking for a soul to steal...from God. Often cited as a story of God's cruelty and indifference, Job is, in reality, far more complex than that. Possibly a compilation of an old Jewish story and later Greek influenced philosophical dialogue, the book details the trials of the most righteous man of the day, the wealthy and successful Job. Satan is  invited to tempt God's greatest servant, only to fail in breaking his faith. Aidan and Isaiah go deep into how this story of loss is really the story of salvation and growth in character.  Subscribe on Patreon to support The Lore Lodge for just $1 per month! https://patreon.com/thelorelodge Follow us in other places via https://aidanmattis.carrd.co Discord: https://discord.gg/233tjGj46z Shop at Target and support The Lore Lodge at https://goto.target.com/lorelodge Shop sustainable products at https://www.gaiaindustrees.com/ using code "LORE"

I have some thoughts on the confession of Brian Laundrie. In September of 2021, I received a snapchat message from one of my followers, asking if I could post about his sister, Gabby Petito, who had gone missing a couple of days prior. She was hiking with her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie. I immediately posted about it, using the story given to me by her younger brother, TJ. There were, at the time of posting, four videos using the hashtag I was asked to use. To say that the events which followed shocked me is an understatement. Within a week it was national news. It was not long, of course, before Brian himself went missing from his family home in Florida. The Laundries lawyered up and refused to cooperate, before eventually injecting themselves into the search effort and immediately finding what they claimed were the remains of their son. We posted a video, linked below, on October 23rd, giving our thoughts on the story to that point. With the release of "Brian's" confession, obtained from the FBI by the Laundrie family's lawyer, Steven Bertolino, I feel it is time to revisit things and give my opinion on the case once again.   Everything stated in this video is my own opinion, and does not reflect the opinion of the Petito family, their lawyers, or anyone else involved in the ongoing lawsuit. I speak on this topic with the permission of the Petito family.  Our initial video on this case: https://youtu.be/EuTUuoAAOLI To assist current and future domestic abuse victims in getting the help they need, please donate via https://gabbypetitofoundation.org/ Subscribe on Patreon to support The Lore Lodge for just $1 per month! https://patreon.com/thelorelodge Follow us in other places via https://aidanmattis.carrd.co Discord: https://discord.gg/233tjGj46z Shop at Target and support The Lore Lodge at https://goto.target.com/lorelodge Shop sustainable products at https://www.gaiaindustrees.com/ using code "LORE"

The story of Noah's Ark is one of the best known stories of the Bible, but are we taught the correct version? What of the "Sons of God" and the children they created with the "Daughters or Men"? Is the narrative we all heard in Sunday School really how the author of Genesis meant for us to believe, or were the "nephilim" deliberately obscured from our understanding? We're joined by  @InspiringPhilosophy  to discuss this and other biblical topics.

On May 21st, 2022, a strange looking creature was caught on camera outside the Amarillo Zoo. While many have suggested it is a Chupacabra, and alien, or something else entirely, we have a different theory, and we plan to explain. It all comes down to location, local folklore, and a bit pf a hunch. The boys are back with more Missing 411 content...on July 4th 1938, Alfred Beilhartz vanished while hiking to a fishing spot with his family. Despite being surrounded by his 9 siblings, nobody saw Alfred go missing, and the search that followed came back with more questions than it did answers.
