The Beauty of the Grand Tetons

Some places are beautiful in pictures. Others make you stop, look around, and simply say, wow.

Our time in the Grand Tetons was filled with those moments—standing beneath the mountains, riding the tram to take in the view from above, exploring Wyoming with the whole family, searching three different times before finally finding a moose, and fly fishing Flat Creek in the National Elk Refuge with my son.

And then there were the moments when we couldn’t see the mountains at all. Smoke from the Canadian wildfires settled in and covered much of the view. But the mountains hadn’t moved. They were still there—we just couldn’t see them.

Sometimes faith feels that way too.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

This week’s Sunday Coffee is about the beauty we see, the beauty we sometimes miss, family, waiting, faith, and learning to slow down long enough to appreciate what’s right in front of us.

There are few places in Yellowstone National Park as incredible as Grand Prismatic Spring.

The brilliant blues, oranges, yellows, and greens. The steam rising from the hot spring. The sheer size and beauty of it.

It draws you in.

You want to get closer.

You want to reach out and touch it.

But you can’t.

And maybe that’s part of the lesson.

And sometimes the things we can’t touch, control, or possess are the very things that teach us the most about God.

Some trips change your perspective.

My recent journey through Yellowstone National Park was one of those trips.

From the incredible terraces of Mammoth Hot Springs to the power of Old Faithful, the mountains, rivers, wildlife, and quiet mornings with a cup of coffee reminded me of something simple:

Creation has a way of pointing us back to the Creator.

What does it really mean to follow Christ?

In this week’s episode of The Lost Meander Podcast, we talk about what Jesus meant when He said to take up our cross daily and follow Him. Faith isn’t always easy, but it’s in the moments of surrender, humility, and sacrificial love that our faith grows the most.

Do one act of sacrificial love that reflects the heart of Christ.

In week 4 of Sunday Coffee Lent series on The Lost Meander Podcast, we take time to talk about something many of us avoid... repentance. During this season of reflection, Lent invites us to slow down, really examine our hearts, and turn back to God. 

Scripture reminds us in 1 John 1:9: that "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Repentance isn't about shame, its about restoration.
