July 24, 2018Podcast 44: My worst condition health thus far - How did it begin? What's the progress and solution?Hey podcast fam, I want to share with you my past four weeks and my eye condition. Specialist have listed it as an inflammation of the eyelids of a condition called Blepharitis. I've been told that it's a chronic and not curable. It has been the first time at 30 that this has struck me.I initially blamed it on my contact lense, then a potential sensitivity or allergic reaction to something within my new apartment. But I truly believe now there is a deeper underlying cause, that is, my gut! To be honest, when I first moved in back in late May to June there was a period where I was eating out too regularly. Combine that and long days working (six days a week) with minimal sleep is a recipe for disaster.Anyways, tune in more to this podcast as I go into depth about more about my eye condition....more8minPlay
July 18, 2018Podcast 43: The unspoken diet that you won't do but will WORK! (For men and women)We all know we need to eat less to lose weight. But have you ever heard of eating more to lose weight?Although there is no scientific literature backing the concept of reverse dieting (the process of slowly increase calories over a period of time) there has been many anecdotal evidence to prove the concept works amongst many strength and fitness experts. Used commonly in athletes like Michael Phelps and fitness competitors I wanted to explain why in my opinion reverse dieting is necessary and relevant also to the everyday general population who does make a (serious) commitment to the gym.Of course, you cannot eat whatever you like. It's planned and it's structured. Listen more if I've got you interested.Peace and pancakes....more7minPlay
July 17, 2018Podcast 42: Health hack your brain for better strength gain and fat lossHey podcast fam! You've all seen the sloth who is super hard to motivate in the gym. You've also seen the crazy mad gym goer who brings the intensity like a heavy metal concert. So what differentiates the two? Or better yet the big four?We all have brain chemicals in our brain and depending upon lifestyle, food choices and values we all have established our own unique neurotransmitter profile. Below is the link to test and find out which profile you are. The next link is where you can read more information from the founding father himself, Charles Polyquin (a multiple time Olympic Strength Coach who uses this method to determine what training style suits the athlete the most). Of course, we're not all athletes, but we can certainly do this for ourselves to have the cutting edge to help improve our strength and body composition. June 29, 2018Episode 39 - Benefits of Strongman TrainingHey podcast fam! I'm lucky enough to be training in a facility that has strongman based equipment. I know that alot of gym's have difficult with storage or even their gym just only contains machines. But, we are seeing many gyms change their layouts and structure and incorporate a more functional area to train in. Anyways, I wanted to share in today's podcast the benefit of strongman training and why you should be doing it. For general pop, this program is known to be "modified strongman' as it is not true strongman lifting. Understand how it's a form of muscle building and fat burning and how it can also help your day to day functionality of moving heavy objects or being comfortable in "uncomfortable" positions.Enjoy and as always remember to share this with a friend who may be interesting in doing strongman training.
