Sen. Bernie Sanders lost the nomination for president, but the socialist-leaning independent’s sway is leading the nation into a single-payer health care system. Sanders chairs the Senate Budget Committee, giving him influence over Biden’s infrastructure bill. A huge chunk of Biden’s $3.5 trillion infrastructure bill is massive spending on government-run health care, putting the nation on track towards a single-payer system. Notably, Medicare is on the block for expansion as it marches towards insolvability in 2026.

Sanders and company want to include Americans under the age of 65 on the senior health program that covers dental, health and hearing benefits, items which are already covered in part.
