Melissa Bowen - MeBo Media
If you've joined us at an in person Grill The Marketer event you'll know Melissa Bowen as our MC. But she's WAY overqualified to MC for us...so this time we're going to have her as a guest! Melissa Bowen is a working journalist with more 20 years experience in Television, Radio and Print. She has held senior editorial roles in some of the biggest newsrooms around the country and continues to do editorial project work for both Australian and international media companies. Melissa also served as General Manager of Marketing for Seven West Media, overseeing all trade and consumer marketing and communications across the group in WA. She started MEBO Media in 2011 to advise and train companies, govt and individuals on how to strategically navigate the media landscape in good times and bad. She has a special interest in crisis communications having seen it done extremely well and extremely badly from the other side. MEBO Media also produces engaging and creative video content for local and national clients across a variety of sectors including Mining, Health, FMCG, Government, Education, Events and NFP.
Tracy Hansen - Marketing & Communications Consultant
Tracy is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in delivering strategic marketing communications strategies. Over the past 20+ years she has assisted a broad range of clients across a variety of sectors including research & development, education, healthcare, financial services, tourism and the arts. A skilled media trainer and crisis communications specialist, Tracy collaborated with the HK & Australian governments in developing a risk assessment policy and community response, as the political unrest in Hong Kong intensified last year. In November 2019, with the oncoming threat of the Coronavirus pandemic, Tracy was invited by the Australian Chamber of Commerce to develop new marketing and communications strategies, as well as policies and procedures in response to the increasingly challenging environment. Tracy is now happily residing in Perth and is available on a contract basis over the coming months.
Kate MacKinnon - Kinn & Co
Kate is a consummate marketing and communications professional with over 17 years experience in the arts, culture, tourism, entertainment and media. She's accomplished in these multi-disciplinary, multi-project environments and is driven by her passion for communications, event development and marketing exceptional brands. Kate's worked with small and large entities including; Seven West Media, Mellen Events, LION Nathan and Tourism Western Australia, before starting her own agency KINN & Co in 2017. Kate's highly regarded and known for her relationships across the creative, events and media sector - working with clients to creatively and effectively deliver their marketing and communication objectives. She's worked with a variety of clients on marketing and communications projects, large scale events and place-making activations including; City of Perth, City of Karratha, City of Fremantle, City of Stirling, City of Mandurah, 20th Century FOX, UWA, Quay Perth hotel, Accor Hotels, Art Series Hotels, Scarborough Beach Association, Hibernian Place, PEET Limited, RAC and Healthway. KINN & Co produce a number of their own events including Winterworld Fremantle and the Scarborough Sunset Markets
