Thoughts from your host…
Today is Thanksgiving here in Canada, and I have much to be thankful for.
I’m thankful that I have a family and a spouse that encourages this little ongoing craziness of mine.
I’m thankful that I have friends and acquaintances who are willing to give up a few hours of their time in the name of creating new episodes.
I’m thankful for the entertaining and inspiring films that give me fodder for these discussions, that I have the opportunity to share those discussions.
And I’m thankful for anyone who takes a moment to tune into these little audio snapshots of mine and keep me hungry to create more.
For these, and for so much more…I am deeply thankful. Pass the sweet potatoes.
Thanks for tuning into episode one-hundred-forty-four.

Thoughts from your host…
It’s good to be back.
I mean, the TIFF dispatches were an awesome way to get back in the swing of things and all, but it’s great to get back to the full show with a full discussion and all the the trimmings.
What’s more, I actually owe a great debt of thanks to today’s guest – Mr. Gorman – because he was nice enough to invite me into his home to record even though we’d never actually me face-to-face. That’s true community right there, and certainly going the extra mile to make a fellow podcaster feel special! The result is a conversation I think went amazingly well, and one that you’ll hear almost completely unedited, save for a moment or two when the early morning call got us tangled-up in our words.
Those moments are few and far between though, so it’s sorta giving me a grin right this moment to see what happens when podcasters get together and roll tape.
Thanks for sticking around.

And we’re back!
Sometimes when you get out of a movie that seems like an experience unto itself, you need to pull up a chair and talk about what just happened. Of course, as has been the custom this week, my guest and I also turn our attention to the experience on the whole. Specifically, what it’s like to be a festival goer for more than ten years and how that changes the effect and the approach.
Elbow your way through the crowd and pull up a chair!

Look at that – six weeks away and here I am with the second podcast episode in as many days. When it rains it pours!
For a long time – not just at TIFF, but throughout the year – I’ve wanted to record some of what goes down at our pub nights here in Toronto. While I couldn’t possibly capture the boisterousness, animation, and pure volume that takes place at those tables, I think this captures the spirit of what goes on…moving about the room, talking to different people, and overall just catching up.
Pour yourself a drink and pull up a chair!

Hey, remember when I used to host a podcast? Me too, and I’ve dearly missed it so what better time than TIFF to get back into the swing of things?
This year we’re changing things up slightly by choosing not to focus on just one movie for half of the episode, and instead just rapping about all sorts of titles for a moment or tw… along with how our week on the whole is shaking down.
Last night I got things started over dinner with a dear friend who has returned to TIFF after a three year absence, so it’s returning forces all around for your Monday morning!
