Jeff talks about the non-profit he founded to build water wells in Rwanda, and reflects on what has inspired him to continue traveling the world. He then talks about his entrepreneurial journey and founding his brand “Chubby Diaries” to empower plus-size people to travel the world. He explains how plus-size travelers are an underserved niche, and he provides specific tips and hacks for plus-size people to travel the world and life their life to the fullest right now. He also talks about how he monetizes his brand, explain what his primary sources of income are, and describes how he has pivoted during the pandemic and had his best business year yet in 2020. Jeff then shares his “budget travel” hacks and techniques for traveling the world on much less money than most people think is possible. He also talks about co-founding the Black Travel Alliance and explains their mission of holding the travel industry accountable for their lack of diversity. Jeff then shares his tips specifically for Black travelers at the earlier stage of their world travel journey.

Ahmad shares her story of growing up in northern Nigeria, desiring to travel the world, and leaving home at the age of 16 to go study in Ghana without telling her father.  She explains how she navigated her family dynamics in pursuit of her dream life, joined the Model U.N. in college and traveled outside of West Africa for the first time.  From there she shares her experience working in the corporate world after college and then quitting her job with minimal savings and co-founding her business Fainajs Express Limited as a trade-facilitation agency based in West Africa.  Fadila explains how she transformed her local business to one with a location-independent infrastructure that she could run from anywhere in the world, and how she set off on her digital nomad journey to travel the world.  She tells stories about her first road trip across Europe, her first time seeing snow, why she loves Brazil so much, and why Swaziland is the most under-rated place in Africa.  She then provides specific tips for solo-female travelers, Muslim travelers, and African travelers.  Fadila then talks about founding “Africans Living Fully” as an online travel community to support African digital nomads.  She shares specific tactics and paths for Africans to become location-independent and shares tips for traveling the world on a Nigerian passport.  And, finally, she talks about her history of social justice activism, her work with NGOs across West Africa, the current human rights struggles in Nigeria, and she offers suggestions for how digital nomads can get involved and stay grounded in struggles for justice.

    Irina Papuc takes us through her upbringing in Chicago, her experience living and traveling through Europe, and her decision to move to Taiwan for a year to teach English.  She shares her lessons from her time in Taiwan including living with Buddhist nuns and learning the value of minimalism and simplicity.  She then shares her experiences on her travels through Asia, including water-gun fights on Buddha’s birthday in Myanmar and the Holi Festival of Colors in Vrindavan, India.  Next, she takes us on her motorcycle trip through Nepal, including her experience living with a Shaman in the mountains and learning Nepalese Shamanic rituals.  Irina then shares her journey slow-traveling the Silk Road without a phone, and detaching from the outside world.  She tells stories of staying in yurts and drinking hot horse milk in Kyrgyzstan, attending a Tajik wedding near the border with Afghanistan, sleeping on rooftops in Uzbekistan, and crossing the Caspian Sea on a commercial ship.  She then shares her experience hitchhiking around Georgia, avoiding mines in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region, traveling to the Syrian border in Turkey, touring the town of Hasankeyf before it gets submerged under water.  She also reflects on the conclusion of her journey when she eventually made it back to Romania to re-connect with her roots and meet some of her family members for the first time.  Next she talks about co-founding Galactic Fed, a multi-national digital marketing agency, and explains how she selected the right business partner.  She explains why she founded it as a fully-remote company, how she differentiated her business and scaled it to nearly 100 staff in 3 years, and explains the biggest mistakes businesses are making today with their SEO.  She gives tips on managing a fully distributed team and shares her personal productivity, nutrition and fitness routines.
