Episode 16 - Sitting in the Unknown, with Eryn Johnson - I had the pleasure of speaking with Eryn Johnson recently and it was the most magical conversation. From following along with her story via the work she shares, I suspected our childhood stories might be similar. Little did I know, how closely the narratives actually ran between us. Being raised in evangelical Christianity, Eryn shares her way out of religiosity and her journey home. She shares what it felt like to grow up in a way that didn't allow for differences of truth and perspective and was full of spoken and unspoken agendas. Eryn shares what it felt like to have to lie about feelings, thoughts, and who she truly was. She opens up about how this created patterns of disembodiment and handing away her power. This week I am joined by the amazing Mimi Young of Ceremonie. Mimi Young is a Taiwanese Canadian shamanic witch and occultist, and founder of Ceremonie (shopceremonie.com), an esoteric brand that offers core shamanic and occult education and mentorship, Remote Shamanic Readings, and plant potions for skin and aura. Mimi works with a blend of modalities including core shamanism, spirit communication, ancestral wisdom, dream work, chaos magick, and other Chinese esoterics and divination practices to access the Unseen, while remaining embedded in Nature.

In our conversation we talk about religion and leaving the church. Mimi shares her personal story of Christianity and the church and her journey o-u-t and into freedom. It’s a deep dive into all aspects of walking away, as well as what it feels like and how we’re impacted (even in subtle ways) when systems of oppression are holding the reigns. It’s vulnerable, it’s real, and it’s incredibly important (and super helpful) for anyone that has roots of deep religiosity in their upbringing or even those of you on this path of deconstruction and returning, in any capacity. I personally find other women’s stories to be such a gift in the way that they allow us to tap into our awareness and get super curious about our own day to day choices. When we can begin to question, we begin to see. And it’s in the seeing, where truth lives. Mimi is a beautiful example of stepping into your power and choosing LIFE❣️🌱
