If knowing, living with, and fulfilling your purpose is an integral part of making a man a 'Man' (which, of course, it is!), how do YOU define Purpose?
This is yet another question with seemingly infinite answers but today we're going to bring it home and make it much smaller and more impactful than perhaps you've considered in the past.

What makes a man a 'Man'? When do YOU feel like a man, and what keeps you from fulfilling your purpose as a man?
While this is an endless rabbit hole (great bourbon, by the way!) we could go down, you'll see inside this episode that being 'The Man' - while not easy - is very simple when you get clear about one thing - your VALUES.

EP112 - How can you as a man or woman support your partner who struggles with mental health issues?
I could not think of a better human being to ask than the one human being who has had to manage my mental health more than anyone, my partner, Jennilee.
I can honestly say that I would not be having this conversation with you had it not been for the countless conversations and the seemingly infinite mental and emotional spots JL has given me over the years.
I am so fucking blessed to be able to share her voice with you as I know the words contained within said voice will Ignite the Impact you wish to see in your world as it relates to your mental health.
Here are just a couple of the jems we be tossing around today:
👉🏾 What are the struggles your partner faces as a woman living with a man with mental health issues?
👉🏾 What should you do when all you want to do is fix your partner's problems but doing so will only make the problems worse?
👉🏾 Do you know your own coping mechanisms so that you can share those with your partner?
👉🏾 What's the best thing you can do when your partner is having a mental health breakdown?
👉🏾 Does it help to know where your mental health issues stem from?
👉🏾 If you yourself don't struggle with depression, anxiety, or panic attacks how can you empathize with someone who does?
👉🏾 Do you need to look outside yourself for the solutions to your mental health issues or is it a combination of getting a spot and spotting yourself?

EP111 - What if opening up about your mental health issues took you years to accomplish? Would it even be worth it, and where do you begin if you struggle to open up to the people you love and trust the most?
Those questions and so many more are going to be addressed in today's episode with my dear Brother Blake Rivers from the_happysadclub.
Here are just a few of the other incredible questions we will be addressing today:
👉🏾 What’s the first step in opening up and facing the truth about your mental health struggles?
👉🏾 Blake’s experience with different forms of therapy and medication
👉🏾 Why suffering can be both a safe and dangerous place to dwell depending on why you go there
👉🏾 How to use the gym to develop confidence outside the gym and your ability to embrace uncertainty in life
👉🏾 Mediocrity
👉🏾 What has Blake replaced happiness with that allows him to feel more purpose in life?
👉🏾 How we can compassionately judge others to help us appreciate them even as we judge them
👉🏾 Does suffering come from not hitting your goals or having the wrong goals to hit?

Is self-awareness really the first step in transforming any area of your life, or is there something that comes even before self-awareness?
While this could be a solid chicken and egg conversation, as you'll soon hear from my Brother DP, there is an argument to be made for something needing to be practiced as the prequel to self-awareness.

EP110 - What is it going to take for more people to become aware of, accept, and act on the fact that men's mental health is a societal pandemic, not simply a challenge men face by themselves and need to solve by themselves?
This concludes the 6-part Men's Mental Health Awareness Month podcast series, and I could not have asked for three better guests to help me bring it home.
George (aka @thetinmen), a filmmaker and men's and boy's advocate who first appeared on EP084, Susie Bennett, PhD researcher exploring male suicide at Suicidal Behaviour Research Lab at the University of Glasgow who first appeared on EP086, and Blake Rivers, a biomechanics researcher at Kingston University who will be making his solo debut on EP111.
This was the first episode I was ever brought to tears, and pretty much all four of us had to fight them back at some point as we discussed a topic that unfortunately can't be openly discussed without receiving ample negative kickback from some people who simply believe that men aren't worthy of help, compassion, and the same level of sympathy and support as the rest of the world.
Here are just a few of the incredible questions we will be addressing today:
👉🏾 If awareness is always the first step towards transformation, how can a man start to become aware of his mental and emotional levels of well-being so that he doesn’t become another sad statistic?
👉🏾 What is the emotional Tank of Pain and how does it influence our mental health?
👉🏾 How will becoming the researcher of your own life be a life-saving skill every man should develop?
👉🏾 Can success and a hardcore dedication to your craft be a warning sign for beneath-the-surface depression?
👉🏾 What are the symptoms you can be on the lookout for so you can spot mental health issues when they arise?
👉🏾 Why there is no before and after in both transforming your physical and mental health so stop fucking looking at it like that
👉🏾 Why do certain sectors of society and government vehemently refute the idea of men’s groups, ministers for men, and anything to do with lending support to men and boys?
👉🏾 What is the difference between loneliness and being alone, and what is the fundamental component that keeps those who feel loneliness from reaching out?
👉🏾 What are the laws we need to change if we are to change the stigma around men’s mental health, rape, and the core challenges facing men today?
👉🏾 Why should everyone strive to be an imposter?

EP108 - What are the best principles we can take from inside the gym and apply them outside the gym to become fit as fuck in every area of life?
This is one of many questions we will be answering today with a spot from what I call my Aussie Connection as we have two returning guests - Danny Kennedy (EP070) and Jai Bazevski (EP072) - along with an IBI virgin, Kate Bazevski, all of whom are Personal Trainers who have taken what they do as trainers far beyond the walls of the gym.
Here are just a few of the topics we be tackling today:
👉🏾 What’s the difference between working out and training both in the gym and in life, and which is better for you?
👉🏾 What is a One-Take-Tommy and how is it so useful for getting over procrastination?
👉🏾 How do you go from being an introvert to an extrovert with one simple shift in mindset?
👉🏾 How to cut down on the number of fucks given in your life
👉🏾 How do you balance being your true self with who you think the world wants you to be?
👉🏾 What is the fuel for our mental health that is either building us up or breaking us down?
👉🏾 Is it possible or even necessary to have tangible and measurable metrics for your everyday life to make sure your relationships, mental health, and sense of purpose are getting stronger?
👉🏾 What is the metaphorical scale you can use to weigh your mental health to see if you’re getting into better or worse shape mentally?
👉🏾 What are the three Aussies’ favorite exercises outside of the gym that help them strengthen their mental health?
