The Micah Hanks Program

As 2022 draws to a close, some have argued that the last twelve months were a "slow year" for developments regarding UFOs, or what the Department of Defense now even more broadly calls "unidentified anomalous phenomena." However, the reality is that this couldn't be further from the truth: 2022 may eventually be seen as a landmark year in terms of developments related to the Pentagon's ongoing investigations, as recent events make clear.

This week we look at the DOD's real-life "X-Files" with its ongoing investigations into unidentified anomalous phenomena, as we examine the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023 and its relevant UAP legislation, as well as a media briefing by the DOD's All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office and what it revealed, in this week's installment of The Micah Hanks Program.

Unidentified Aerial Phenomena have received renewed attention in recent years, following the U.S. government's focus on resolving incidents with anomalous phenomena occurring in air, undersea, and space domains. However, the underlying source of these unusual objects remains undetermined. While one popular theory holds that they could represent extraterrestrial technologies, another interpretation of the phenomenon involves the potential that time travel could account for the presence of unusual aerial technologies encountered by our military.

Could UFO occupants actually be "chrononauts" from our own future, and how likely is this proposed solution in the range of possibilities regarding UAP and its origins? Joining us to discuss this possibility is Michael P. Masters, Ph.D., a professor of anthropology and author of books that include Identified Flying Objects, which examines what he calls the "Extra-Tempestrial" hypothesis for UAP. Masters discusses this, and other theories related to the potential for time travel in relation to UAP in this holiday edition of The Micah Hanks Program.

Since the Cold War era, the United States has worked to build the world's most advanced stealth aircraft, which produced the famous U2 spyplane, the SR-71, the B2 bomber, and most recently, the Air Force's impressive B-21 Raider, the world's first sixth-generation-aircraft. However, for decades there have been rumors about other aircraft that have been designed at Lockheed's legendary Skunk Works facility.

Did programs like the mysterious and long-rumored "Aurora" actually exist? And could Lockheed engineers like the famous Kelly Johnson have even been inspired to build such stealth planes after he and several employees observed a genuine UFO? We look into all these questions this week on The Micah Hanks Program.

In recent months, reports of sightings involving unidentified aerial phenomena by pilots have been making news, involving a variety of observations of unusual luminous displays by aviators over the United States. While some of the sightings appear to have been resolved, a number of the pilot reports continue to perplex experts, and more broadly, point to challenges that aviation professionals face.

This week on The Micah Hanks Program, we look at several of the recent pilot encounters with UAP, along with similar incidents logged in years past that showcase the potential safety hazards these objects represent.

Since the late 1940s, people who have claimed to be UFO witnesses have occasionally come forward with strange stories of visits from "men in black," giving rise to an odd and unsettling subfield in modern studies of the phenomenon. However, historical researchers point out that the idea of visits from mysterious, dark-suited individuals didn't begin with the modern UFO era, and in fact, may date back centuries.

This week on The Micah Hanks Program, we look at the folklore surrounding the Men in Black and examine their mythic roots, as well as the modern claims of those who say they have had terrifying, real-life encounters with mysterious dark-suited strangers. Could there be more to some of the stories than mere myth, after all?

It was an otherwise ordinary evening for coworkers Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker were fishing at an abandoned shipyard along Mississippi's Pascagoula River, when Hickson was first to notice an odd, bluish light in the distance. Over the next few minutes, the two fishermen's lives would be forever changed... and one of the greatest controversies in UFO history would begin to unfold.

In this installment of The Micah Hanks Program, we examine the October 11, 1973, UAP incident at Pascagoula, involving the alleged abduction of Hickson and Parker, and details about the case that have caused it to remain one of the 20th century's most controversial UAP-related events.

In 1917, a curious discovery was made within an ancient cave on the island of Malta: several unusual teeth that did not appear to belong to modern humans. However, this could only mean that our ancient cousins, the Neanderthals, had been there much earlier than it was previously believed any type of humans had ever arrived in Malta. Could this mean our current understanding of the island's history is wrong?

Anthropologists have long recognized that the last Neanderthals likely disappeared from Europe around 28,000-30,000 years ago. However, tantalizing references from ancient traditions throughout the world might suggest otherwise. This week on The Micah Hanks Program, we look at folklore and history from around the world that could suggest one or more unknown humanlike species, known by scientists as "relict hominoids," could still be living in modern times.

For centuries, myths and legends have hinted at the existence of hidden chambers within the Egyptian pyramids and the surrounding Giza complex. From an alleged secret tomb of the Pharaoh Khufu, to a "Hall of Records" that has long been speculated to exist, the search for secret areas where ancient knowledge about the history of Egypt might exist has tantalized scholars for decades.

This week on The Micah Hanks Program, we explore how recent scientific developments led to the discovery of a mysterious void within the Great Pyramid at Giza, and look at how ancient history, as well as particle physics, might offer clues about what could await within.

In 1947, Pilot Kenneth Arnold observed a series of strange objects flying over Mount Rainier, Washington... and once the story made its way into American newspapers, a new cultural phenomenon was born. However, does the history of unidentified aerial phenomena really begin in 1947, or are there deeper historical threads that point to an earlier presence of the phenomenon?

Joining us this week are researchers David Marler and Barry Greenwood, two of the foremost experts on historical documentation of the UFO phenomenon. Along with a discussion about their studies of UFOs in the historical record, we also get an important update from Marler about the launch of a new historical facility devoted to the study of the phenomenon, this week on The Micah Hanks Program.

In May 2022, Representative Tim Burchett told reporters that he had been told about wreckage from UFOs that had allegedly been recovered in the past by the U.S. military. According to Burchett, he said that "multiple sources" had informed him of this fact, though he provided no additional details.

From the rumored crash of a UFO at Roswell, New Mexico in 1947, to modern efforts involving the analysis of alleged materials of unearthly origin, claims of material recovered from UAP encounters have circulated for decades. This week on The Micah Hanks Program, our guest is Tim Swartz, editor of a new anthology entitled Alien Artifacts: Incredible Evidence of Exotic Material From UFO Encounters, who joins us to discuss some of history's most controversial claimed recoveries of such material.
