This week on The Gralien Report, as the results of the Iowa caucus are rolling in, we turn our attention to news pertaining to the Zika virus outbreak in South America, as well as possible discovery of a real “Planet X” much further out beyond our Solar System. Then the very controversial subject of gene editing raises its head, as British scientists are being given the green light to be able to conduct such studies on human embryos.

The discussion continues in the vein of concerns about such controversial technologies as these, as we examine new technologies that could allow speech for those otherwise unable to do so, with the help of electrodes implanted directly into the brain. However, what happens when you pair this with such things as wi-fi? We take things one step further with an examination of one scientist’s belief that by the end of this century, many people will be able to exist indefinitely thanks to digital technologies. This leads us to the discussion of transhumanism, described as, “an international and intellectual movement that aims to transform the human condition by developing and creating widely available sophisticated technologies to greatly enhance human intellectual, physical, and psychological capacities.” What will such technologies mean for humans of the future, and will we really be able to call such hypothetical trans-humans “human” at all?

On the heels of this story, during hour two we are joined by a panel of researchers that includes blogger Red Pill Junkie, writer Joshua Cutchin, and podcaster Seriah Azkath as we continue to weigh the pros and cons of far-out “transhuman” future technologies. Then, as we consider the varieties of human experience of the future, and the kinds of modes through which we may eventually coexist with intelligences other than our own, we examine the controversial claims of a researcher named R. M. Santilli, who claims to have used a special telescope of his own design to uncover evidence of a new kind of presence in Earth’s skies. Can this “discovery” be confirmed independently, or is it purely the stuff of pseudoscience? Or, could this somehow fall someplace in between, in that Santilli’s pseudoscience may lead to an actual discovery of some legitimacy?

This week on The Gralien Report, while many in the the Eastern US have been snowed in during the blizzard that hit over the last few days, here in the bunker we’ve been deep into research regarding the UFO phenomenon, which has seen a fair amount of attention coinciding with the re-launch of the popular UFO-themed television series The X Files. In fact, in advance of the program’s debut over the weekend, the CIA decided to begin posting information on its website about its own involvement with the UFO phenomenon over the years… but have we learned anything new?

Later, we also look at items in the news that include whether or not alien life could be affected by climate change… as it might occur on other planets, that is. We also examine the mysterious disappearance of a Bolivian lake, and a nuclear incident that, according to some, may be evidence of a U.S. Air Force cover up.

Finally, as we pick up the discussion of UFOs once again, during the second hour of the program we look at two incidents in the upper regions of North America that involve not only multiple witness observation of large unexplained aerial phenomenon, but also radar tracing of unusual objects that further suggests their size, and presence. Some of these cases do appear to involve massive aerial objects for which no simple explanation has been offered… do they represent real technologies, and if so, what is their origin? Maybe there is a good argument for keeping “X Files” on the subject, after all…

Couldn’t there be room for both evolution, and our concepts of a universe with a creator, and why must the two subjects always be met with such contrast?

Looking at the news, we touch on new evidence of humans living in ancient Siberia, and what this has to do with the discovery of a wooly mammoth in the region. Also, with the eventual creation of technologies that may allow the cloning and recreation of an extinct creature like a mammoth, will the Earth of the future become a home to life forms that are very unlike ourselves… or even, the “end” of what we call the human era?

Speaking of those things not quite human, discussion of a possible “megastructure”, evidenced by a star’s gradual dimming over the last century, has advocates of alien life talking (again). Is this the best evidence of alien life that we have found to-date, or has one popular astronomer already deduced what the cause of this stellar “anomaly” might be?

Finally, X-rays were used in the recent discovery of an element long hidden in a famous painting of John Dee, the controversial Tudor polymath and occultist. What appeared under X-ray analysis has shocked a few art experts, and occult historians alike.
