Welcome back to another very exciting episode of The Modern Apes Podcast, with your favorite co hosts Daniel Bridge-Gadd and Tristan Bowling.
This week the boys are talking "Bad Medicine, and no not the smash hit Bon Jovi song! We got some bad doctors, some would say one is arguably the worst of all time.
Daniel kicks us off with the true story of how former SNL star Dana Carvey had what should have been a routine bypass surgery....but based on his unique anatomy the doctor cut the wrong valve in his heart and sent him home. Carvey showed up a week later with more chest pain and a lawyer this time. Long story short and 7.5 million dollars later Dana walked away with a clean bill of health and the doctor walked away with just a bill.
Now Tristan came in with what some call next to the big H himself the most diabolical person in the German army. He is talking Josef Mengele, or as he was known in the camps as "The Angel of Death". With a weird interest in twins and people with different color eyes, lets just say stuff got hairy when the boys showed up. Welcome back to another glorious episode of The Modern Apes Podcast with Tristan Bowling & Daniel Bridge-Gadd.
We wanted to thank you for making the last two weeks (the Luis J. Gomez ep/solo ep after) a huge success. We are growing this thing one member of the Apes Army at a time.
This week the boys are talking warriors. After last week with the Cartoon Wars we thought it would be good to bring it back to the OG core of the pod and do some ANCIENT APES. That and we both really like the show the "Deadliest Warrior".
Daniel pulled up with a pound for pound top ten warrior of all time. King Leonidas leader of the famed Spartan 300 army. We take a brief look inside the childhood of a king and what it took to make it in Spartan culture. Then obviously we jump right into the battle from the film where the Spartans faced a situation where the only way to move is forward, and there is nothing more glorious then a heroes way out. All in all if you like Ancient Greek history and big battles you should like this ep.
Tristan comes in with a person so cool it knocked Daniel's hair back.
Have you heard of Yasuke, well you are about to, and no he's not Afro Samurai….Daniel asked that already so you don't have to.
Yasuke is looked at as the First Black Samurai on record. After showing up in Japan in 1579 he swore his services to Oda Nobunaga and fought during the Sengoku period. Dude was known for legendary fights and probably had something to do with why chocolate youths are all the sudden into Anime.

Best of 5 is how the game gets decided, and its off of who has the best argument, not just whos bird is best outright at the highlighted skill set.
