In this episode I interview Dr. Laura Koniver, MD, author of The Earth Prescription. This episode is your chance to go deep into one element that nature or Earth connection offers you – the chance to ground. Dr. Koniver describes how we never question plugging in our phones when their battery is running low, and yet, so many of us run ourselves into the ground before we stop for a recharge. So take this time to learn to recharge regularly, to ground – and of course, enjoy the chance to nerd out a little bit on the amazing science behind this practice.
What is covered in this episode:
>>How being outside and connecting to the Earth can be beneficial and comforting to us psychologically and physically
>>How we can incorporate grounding into our daily lives by taking things we’re already doing inside and bringing them outside
>>What is conductive: trees, plants, grass, flowers, weeds – anything that is living and growing out of the Earth can be grounding but even brick, patio, concrete and cement can be grounding
>>How even just a pinky finger off the edge of a mat, touching a blade of grass, while we’re doing yoga outside can be grounding
