These days it is hard to find anyone who is prepared to admit they are a fan of using fossil fuel energy. So deeply entrenched is the false idea that CO2 is the great evil and that the planet will be destroyed unless we all switch to renewables. No rational debate is heard in the mainstream media because the pros and cons of various different sources of energy are not honestly appraised. Furthermore, assumptions of doom and gloom climate scenarios from discredited computer models are endlessly repeated in order to frighten people into accepting changes that are not the solution.

Fossil fuel energy is not the enemy

Alex Epstein has written a fabulous book called “The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels”, in which he presents a refreshingly logical and rational way of approaching the issue. He refers to the environmentalist movement as ‘the anti-human movement’ due to their relentless emphasis on reducing the impact of humans on the environment. Alex states at the outset that his ‘come from’ in weighing the best form of energy is to determine the very best possible outcome for human flourishment.

Don and Alex are colleagues at the CIP where they work to bring about a new industrial revolution and bring sound thinking to the debate. In their own words…

Meaningful Environmental Awareness

From the perspective of a rational thinker, the whole concept of environmental awareness needs revising in the minds of almost all of us. It needs to be updated so as to separate the issues of CO2 and pollution. Pollution is undesirable that is clear, but more CO2 looks more likely to be beneficial.  Meaningful Environmental Awareness. means being aware of the toxicity within your body for a start. Then it should sensible extend out into the home and the environment with concerns for what ever may be poisoning us or compromising our health.
