Jules is busy over the summer filling the family schedule with all sorts of activities. All the while, her daughter needs to meet a summer reading requirement and Jules is taking her foot off the gas to let her daughter make the decision of when to read on her own. 

Meanwhile, Jules is filling her own reading tank with Preston Perry's book, How To Tell The Truth. She's ahead of Carmen and they are both enjoying the things he has to say on speaking with other faiths and the Holy Spirit.

Carmen and her husband made the decision last night to cut the cable. After sharing that we heard from a listener who is using the money saved by cutting the cable to support the station. 

Dave's wife was ready to have a tree in the backyard cut down, thinking it was dead. Dave found signs of life on the tree in the eleventh hour. 

Carmen's got a poinsettia that she has yet to name and she needed help coming up with names that would make the cut. 

Today is Juneteenth honoring the end of slavery in America. Bill took some time to acknowledge the federal holiday. 

Our voice guy, Dan, got a public thank you from Carmen for a gift that helped her cut the cost on an unusual gift. 

Dave gave us an update on season 4 of The Chosen as he and his wife have caught up on the episodes. 

Swiss researchers have discovered that a part of the cocoa plant that is usually cut away is actually beneficial in making a healthier version of chocolate.

Fatherhood, Freedom, Faith and Flying were all a part of today's show. With Father's Day being yesterday, Dave and Bill told us how they were celebrated. Carmen shared how she and Pete were able to share some history with their girls yesterday as well.

The possibility of bear encounters and words of wisdom were a big part of today's show. 

Dave told us about a bear encounter in Vermont. Carmen is a bit more worried about the bears she might see while on vacation in Banff and is looking into bear spray. 

Fathers are often looked to for words of wisdom. We heard a few thoughts on fatherhood from Brandon Lake and Brandon Heath this morning. 

Bill shared some thoughts on wisdom and prosperity in leaders. 

Carmen found a high-protein recipe for a One Pan Turkey Taco Skillet. Dave thinks it would be a smarter move to replace the ground turkey and replace it with ground beef and he also shares why it is smart to try the recipes you write down. 

Jules thought she would be smart and enlist the help of her mother in making a meal for her mother-in-law. She almost got away with it.

With Father's Day coming up this weekend, we've started to share some stories and inspiration from some of your favorite artists on fatherhood. The role of fathers is to lead their children and teach them the ways. Dave and Bill shared what they learned from their dads to teach their own sons. 

Carmen has seen a lot of ads on Instagram for a certain product. She wasn't exactly sure what the product was for, but she took their lead and did a little research to find out more. And we all learned a little something from her experience. 

Angel Studios has been leading the way with faith-based entertainment. They have a new movie coming out called Sound of Hope which tells the true story of a rural Texas church and their efforts to adopt 77 kids from the foster care system. 

Also leading the way in faith-based entertainment is The Chosen. Bill shared what he learned from watching an episode from Season 3 last night. 

8 Teams have led the way to the College World Series which happens this weekend. Dave gave us an update on the teeams we might have interest in watching. 

Carmen shared how Kentucky's baseball coach has been leading out with his team after a rough season and the turnaround that led to their winning lately is due in large part to what the Lord has shown the coach. In a recent press conference, he shared a song that you may be familiar with that he says describes what the Lord has shown him. 

One of the leading Christian artists peformed her hit song on The Kelly Clarkson show and it had both Bill and Carmen gushing. Dave joined them after watching the video for himself. 

Preschool teachers often go above and beyond to help the little ones learn. But one preschool teacher is leading out in a way that will help one of her former students live a healthier life.

We had such a banger of a time with Darren Mulligan of We Are Messengers yesterday that we started the show by resharing most of that conversation along with a couple of conversations we recorded with him after the show. We had our own version of summer school on the show today as we discussed the importance of and memories from Vacation Bible School. Carmen spent some time this weekend in Traffic School. And she also celebrated her 20th work anniversary today!
