This week we continue our study through the book of Judges looking at Judges 7:1-25. The story encourages us to humble ourselves as we see God work by grace and for His glory.

As we continue our study through the book of Judges, this week we look at Judges 6:1-40. The passage shows us that God is with His people and the story invites us to trust in God's Word and rest in His promises.

We continue our study through the book of Judges this week looking at Judges 5:1-31. From the passage, The Song of Deborah and Barak, we see the proper response to experiencing God's victory - joyful praise.

This week, as we continue our study through the book of Judges, we look at Judges 4. From the story we see that God is faithful to His Word and that the story points to the ultimate promised salvation in Jesus Christ.

We continue our study through Judges this week looking at Judges 3. From the story we see the abounding grace of God and the reality that God delights to save His people in unexpected ways.

This week we look at Judges 2, the second half of the introduction to the book. From the story we see that the key to growth in the Christian faith is identifying the idols of our hearts and believing that Jesus is better.

This week we begin our study through the book of Judges looking at Judges 1:1-36. William lays the foundation of our study and presents our set of three questions we'll seek to answer from every passage:

1) What does this story proclaim about God and His relationship with His people?

2) How does this story connect to the Bibles larger story or meta-narrative?

3) What admonition or exhortation does this story offer?

On our Elder Affirmation Sunday Gathering, Pastor Andrew Arthur, from The Hallows Church, teaches a message on the importance and beauty of a plurality of church leaders from Acts 14:21-23. Pastor Andrew shares four convictions concerning pastoral leadership:

1) Pastoral leadership in a local church is to be a plurality not a singularity

2) Pastoral leadership in a local church is to be collaborative not competitive

3) Pastoral leadership in a local church is to be a privilege not a right

4) Pastoral leadership in a local church is to be a service not status

In the final week through our study through 1 Peter we look at 1 Peter 5:1-14. From the passage we see that:

1) The gospel creates a humble community

• A community that is led by servant leaders called elders who serve the flock of God as under-shepherds to the Chief Shepherd

• A community that daily clothes themselves in humility toward one another and humbles themselves under the mighty hand of God

2) The gospel creates an alert opposition against the devil and his schemes

3) The gospel creates a loving family

• A family who greets, relates, and lives together in love

This week we look at 1 Peter 4:12-19. From the text we see what Peter means by suffering and how a Christian should respond in the midst of suffering for the name of Christ.
