About two hours ago, Police Minister General Bheki Cele addressed the media on the breakthrough regarding investigations into the murder of Senzo Meyiwa. Cele confirmed that five people have been arrested with more arrests expected to follow. The late Orlando Pirates captain was shot at the home of his former girlfriend, singer Kelly Khumalo, in Vosloors, East Rand in October 2014. Today marks 6 years since Meyiwa was shot and killed.

A coalition of liquor traders in South Africa has written to President Cyril Ramaphosa and government to immediately lift the existing restrictions on the sale of alcohol. Under current regulations, the sale of liquor for home consumption is allowed only on weekdays 9am and 5pm. The coalition says the move will ensure the livelihoods of workers and ensure job security.

South Africa is estimated to have about 7.5% or about 4 million people with disabilities with about 2 point five of those having mild difficulty in walking while 1 percent reported having severe difficulty in walking a kilometre or climbing a flight of stairs. They often struggle with exclusion and marginalization, particularly access to their homes, facilities and buildings. Well today we are discussing the technology that has been developed by the Tshwane University of Technology that aids people with limited ability to walk by using the person’s own movement capability to help improve and restore mobility.
