New Zealand born Fiona Christie is an author and coach, and hosts her own podcast. 

As a newborn Fiona was sick and put into intensive care for 6 weeks, at the same time as her mother was moved to another hospital for cervical cancer. Fiona believes this lack of early connection lead her to never quite feeling like she belonged anywhere until much later in life. 

Suffering with learning difficulties Fiona didn't read her first book until the age of 21, and started her personal development journey at 25 after discovering Louise Hays book Heal Your Life. 

Because Fiona was overly protected growing up she felt she wasn't capable in her younger years and this lead to her marrying a man that wasn't right for her and made her feel like she wasn't good enough, even had her questioning it as she walked down the aisle. 18 years later his infidelity and lack of commitment had her wake up and realise she was settling big time. 

Fiona has realised that she has settled in layers throughout her life including jobs and careers she did. Husband no 2 came as a result of blind dating and not wanting to be single. Getting married too quickly resulted in divorce number 2. 

The pivotal and very metaphoric moment came when there was a massive earthquake near where she was living. She had to evacuate her house and as she sat on the top of a hill with her cats looking down at the shaky ground, she realised that was mirroring her life. In that moment she realised she did not want to keep on settling, took the decision to sell her house, and buy a 'Tiny House' on wheels so she could decide where she wanted to plant her roots. 

She quickly meant her now perfect partner, and having made a decision to significantly reduce her corporate career hours, is now back to coaching and helping mid life women who want to start their next chapter, having previously given up on themselves and their identity.

Katie Morgan, now a qualified coach, hypnotherapist and RTT practitioner apportions her lack of belonging and boredom as a child to her mothers post natal depression and parents spending all their time building a business. There is no blame, just reasons why she struggled with certain things through her life.

A budding fashion designer, her course at University left her feeling flat and not as creative as her peers. Somehow she didn't fit in so headed off on her travels which was great until she started a relationship with a VERY narcissistic partner that kept her feeling trapped for too long until an inspiring book gave her the strength to get out. Katie knows everything happens for a reason but it took her 10 years to fully heal from that time.

Katie suffered low self esteem and battled with bulimia for years, until a chance event with an amazing hypnotherapist took her to San Diego on a weekend she hardly remembers, but stopped her being sick instantly from that day till this. The seeds were sown as to how easy and painless it can be to shift and release the blocks that sit within our subconscious, not accessible in every day living, to create a healthier and happier life.

From fashion, Katie found recruitment which she was good at and stayed in for 10 years, even becoming self employed and earning more money than she ever had before. In the end it was the game playing politics that she had no interest in, and didn't understand, so January 2020 saw her quit that very lucrative job.

What Katie then realised was the amount of coaching she had done for candidates through her recruitment years had really honed her listening skills and she'd loved that part of the job. So it seemed obvious to re train and become certified in coaching, health coaching and then hypnotherapy and Rapid Transformational Therapy. 

Katie is a real advocate of energy work and working with the subconscious believing that when we are vibrating at the right frequency we attract the right clients. Her passion is working with entrepreneurs who have blockages that are preventing their success, and people suffering with anxiety. I am an advocate for Katie as she did wonders with blocks I didn't know existed.

Sylvia Baldock hosts the Becoming Significant Podcast, and is an author, consultant, coach, speaker, and business woman.

From the age of 13, from a strict Baptiste family, she ran a youth club with her brothers in Glasgow for disadvantaged teenagers. 

It wasn't long before Sylvia felt left out at school because of her strict upbringing and eventually started to rebel. She was allowed to go the disco and within no time at all met guy and fell in love at 15, married him at 19, and realised she'd made a mistake on the honeymoon. He became very controlling and she essentialy was his property. Over whelming shame and shrinking herself, she did not feel significant at all. This experience made her want to help others who were suffering with low esteem , and help them break out their patterns.

Trained as a nurse, serious health problems kept her ill for months and she eventually realised she didnt want to continue as a nurse. Fast forward into pharmaceutical sales which gave her a great grounding in sales, marketing and business. 

Over the last few years Sylvia has ran network groups, studied psychometric tests, and achieved accreditation in coaching. The more you learn and grow the more you can offer your clients. Sylvia also joined a professional speaking association, which was scary and stretched her, but now Sylvia teaches people how to publicly speak. Her motto is recognise the fear and rise above it, if you feel scared thats a good thing. 

When in her high powered sales job, she realised she still had glandular fever in her system. A nasty flu developed into ME and she had to completely stop working . A naturopath helped her get 70% healthier. and then she got married again and started a family. After a few years a friend asked her to work for her, and said you need to go networking. Sylvia loved it and when they offered here a franchise which she bit their hand off. 

Stepping into running the business networks she really saw womens vunerability who'd had corporate jobs, then a career break with kids, who then tried to launch their own business's, and loved helping them and see them flourish. Naturaly this lead to coaching and then developing the 6 week Becoming Significant program. 

If funds are not an issue Sylvia strongly advises everyone to spend time with a coach or mentor, but if money is tight see it as a transition, so youre gradually building skills for something else that you enjoy and want to do for yourself. Remember when were you the most fired up, most in flow, and that must be a great start if you don't know what to do. Psychometric tests reinforce your core values, take what resonates for you matched with your core values and this will define what is perfect for you to do. We hear from 4 very inspirational women in todays podcast. I asked them all the same question: 'What was the pivotal moment in your life when you realised you were settling for second best?'

For Sylvia it was when she realised on her honeymoon at 19 years of age that she had made a mistake. The next 10 years of having her light dimmed, being emotionally abused, and suffering serious health issues, saw Sylvia begin to rise from the ashes and at 29 after finally leaving her husband, she really started to fly in her career. Next we have Tenae Stewart, also known as The Witch of Lupin Hollow, who realised she was settling when she was doing a job she loved but didnt feel fulfilled. There were a few serendipity moments when the Universe was certainly giving her a nudge, and after a series of illnesses and being rejected for jobs in her chosen field of art she finally realised she needed to Trust and Believe. Once she had let go, 2 amazing opportunities landed in her lap that she did not go looking for. A Witches blog she had written in her spare time lead to a publishing deal, and a part time job came out of the blue working in Art. Francesca Moi a successful coach, business strategist and author realises that she has settled a lot in her life and possibly could be settling right now. A different slant on things, Francesca believes that settling is a good thing, because you have to know what you don't want before you can know what you do want. And I agree. Its only after the event in hindsight when you can look back and realise you were playing too small in your business or career, or with someone that is not right for you in a relationship. Last but not least Dana spoke to two occasions where she knew she was settling. A classical soprano, artistic director and professor Dana realised early in her career that live gigs were not paying the same as the teaching work she was doing, and with thoughts of her future in mind, she chose to do a more regional career and focus less on performing. Another occasion when she worked in an academic voice faculty she quickly realised her teaching and values did not align with the curriculum she was expected to teach other musicians. So she began to focus on building her own studio with high level students and has found this far more fulfilling and fitting with who she is. Born from a Greek family who moved to S.Africa and then the UK with no money was very inspiring for Dino as he saw his parents go from Zero to successful, whilst still being well cared for. This inspired Dino to want to give back in some way.

As a young adult he wanted to be a rockstar and entertain, but his real heart was from a charity perspective to earn lots of money and give it back to others. Enjoying a gap year after Uni, with a business plan in property prepared, Dino's life changed after a call from his brother telling him mum has been diagnosed with motor neurones disease. So complete chaos ensued with the person closest to him at that time. His plan blown into smitherines, and he went from being super confident to unconfident and a mess. 

Instead of doing what he'd dreamed of he joined IBM as a consultant. Then a man said come to finance and sales thats where you can earn the most money, his ambition lead him into the trap. Then headed up a European company and got to travel, where the money was unbelievable earning six figures at 27. When he told family he was unhappy, they blamed it on his mums illness but he was physically throwing up before going to work with stress. 

His mum passed away 5 years after diagnosis which was pivotal in Dino realising he needed to change, as he hadn't found a way to be truly authentic. So in walks Alex Eastman who shifted Dinos world 180 degrees. He allowed the possibility of opening himself up to a level where he could find his true purpose by knowing himself better.  Uncovering his core values, and realising his vision and mission has been the turning point for Dino. It allowed him to feel held and be patient. 

It was then that he had a big shift in thinking and realised he could impact people now. So he joined a charity to build it from a local one to a nationwide one. This was a massively more aligned role than corporate sales. He also took a massive pay cut to do it which weirdly given his previous ambitions wasnt a big deal. 

This work then started opening his eyes to how his other values could be realised and coaching started to surface as a deep desire that was massive for Dino in terms of fulfillment.  He realised he needed to step away from the charity and  be true to where he was aligned and threw himself into some additional studies at Cambridge and Oxford to develop a framework that could help others transcend the same chaos that he had been able to do. 

This work allows you to uncover the confidence of who you are and what you really want to do and gives you a reference card to work from. UCU was born and the next step was to grow it and add value to people. He had no idea where the money was coming from but people are just joining and it's grown from 1 to 80 people in a short time and he is now tapping into the 20 year old him for the first time. 

Dino and I both agreed we didn't want to play the game of corporate, or the game of relationships, but until we did this work we didn't have the confidence to play our own game, and had no idea what we wanted it to be. What we realised is you don't need to play another person's game, and you can create your own within the environment you're already in with fun, joy and meaning. 

Values are the things that determine our behaviour. Whats most important to us can be out of alignment when external factors close in and we can act out of integrity. You need to know your whole array of core values to be in integrity, otherwise your are too biased in one direction which may not be serving you or others in your life. If you want to change your chaos Dino's advice is to look inside, clear some space and build your own game. And to do it properly you need a coach who will help guide you through your own core values, vision and mission statement. Then you will be aligned. Sophie is a very tenacious and driven business owner, coach and mum to 3 young children. 

Having done the usual travelling after University, Sophie came back to Austrailia engaged with her fiance and joined the corporate world in digital advertising and marketing.  8 years later and with child number 2 on the way she took redundancy as the job could not be flexible to her being a mother. Looking for another job proved challenging to get the right balance for home and something she enjoyed so she took a lower paid role.   

Within weeks she knew it was a mistake and kept thinking she could utilise her skills in her own business. Her redundancy package and husbands bonus paid for her digital marketing education and a new Macbook, and she was good to start her new business. And then destiny partnered her up with another woman and they started their own marketing agency. Within a year it was clear things were not balanced in their relationship but her steely resolve kept her going on her own. 

Sophie got her first client from a post in a community group, and believes that when she talks to people and describes what she does she will always get the business. And since then she has grown from referrals, great communication and being proactive.

Still living in Sydney at this point didn't feel right anymore, it felt like it wasn't their lives and they were there for others and job ties. So not wanting to settle within 2 years they decided to leave Sydney and moved more into the country, with a larger house, open space and a much better quality of life.

More recently coaching has become a natural extension to her work, and she loves seeing people light up at their own possibilities. Sophie's coaching offers the Ultimate Contribution Uncovered framework having been through the program herself and finding it life changing.

We also discuss throughout the interview about having children, juggling them with work and the continual feeling of guilt when mums want time out for themselves.

Sophie says if you want to change your situation just put out there what you want and be proactive. Make sure you write your CV or intention for what you want to do not what youve already done. If you try and it doesn't  happen how you want you can always go back to what you know , but you will have learned a lota along the way.

Today's chat is with Megan Gibson who has already been featured on this podcast before. Megan is a friend and coach of mine and works in the same facilitation program as myself called Ultimate Contribution Uncovered. This program allows facilitators like us to reflect peoples values back to them allowing them to fully realise their Vision for themselves and the world, and how they can make that a reality through their mission statement and goal strategy. 

To really live this work we have to concentrate more on being intentional about aligning with our core values and embodying them every day. 

Megan started this pathway originally from a business brand perspective, but quickly saw it was more important for people to be in alignment with who they are first and see themselves from the inside out. This makes for a winning formula to be better in business and better in life. 

Doing this work and having the self realisations allows you to recognise when your core value's are out of balance or being ignored in favour of another value. My top value is honesty and yet I was dishonest to myself for many years. Until we go through the discovery and uncover what we can't see for ourselves, and actually have the language for it, it is almost impossible to keep on the right aligned path. 

Knowing our core values gives us frame of reference, and then we can get called out on it when we are not living into our values, and do something about it with a clear direction.  

In the chaos of the Covid world people are finding it even tougher to deal with experiences, and differences of opinions. When you don't know the core of who you are, you can't bring yourself back into balance when chaos ensues. We always need to come back to our values. 

Megs suggests if you're feeling in confusion and want to do something to move out of it, a great way to start is journaling or writing your thoughts down. It always helps to get things out either verbally or through writing. 

Also ask yourself 'what is important to me?' Contemplate that. Its really hard to answer this on your own without someone reflecting your thoughts  back to you. We never want to see ourselves as wrong and it's too easy to brush things over and lie to ourselves. We need to stop looking externally for answers or blame and look internally.

Dr Jaz is of course a doctor but also a BTL investor, marketing enthusiast, and coach and teacher. 

As a British born Sikh Punjabi there are expectation's to prosper academically either as a Lawyer, Doctor, Pharmacist etc. Age 23 Jaz had graduated as doctor. He had a big sense of completion and felt like the king. No more learning, and happiness will be inevitable. 

But actually working as a doctor was a rude awakening for many reasons. Responsibilities grow and you have to do night shifts and long days. It wasn't long before he started to feel burn out and empathy fatigue with patients pushing efficiency over empathy.

So he Googled 'how to be a multi billionaire' and came across Robery Kyosaki's book 'Rich Dad Poor Dad'. This was his frist insight into how we are all trading time for money.  This led to lots of seminars, books and podcasts but too much knowledge is bad when you are not implementing what you have learned.  

From 27 he started implementing his knowledge into medical coaching and teaching for under graduates, as well as focusing on solutions for particualr niches.  He also had an aesthetics business which he sold in lockdown and more recently a coaching business to hep people who are stuck in a rut, to understand their values nd vision in life. All of this and property investment which he advises everyone to do.

In July 2019 the hosptial said couldnt be contractor anymore due to the expense, so following the money he started to do medical disability assessments for insurance company . The role needed him to conform 100% with no creativity and no team environment. He hated it and realised how good it was to be a doctor.  It wasn't long before anxiety started in the oppression of the role and 45 days without a day off sent him over the edge and he became ill with stress and anxiety.

Eventually he resigned and though leaving the building was very liberating the anxiety lingered. At this point he realised he needed to do some work on himself to understand how he got to that point and went through a program that completely changed his outlook on life. 

So he went back to the NHS in lockdown , changed his framing, and now is there to help patients from a holisitc point of view and not just give tablets. He enjoys meditation and yoga and makes sure he invest's in all of this on the good days as well as the bad as chaos will still come from time to time. 

Great advice from a mentor is to add one new revenue stream per year.  His Fomo has gone now as he wants to be aligned to his actions and has left the old 'make it by the time your 30' attitude. Success is time choice and freedom and to fill his life with interesting conversations. 

He lives by quotes such as 'Happiness is the byproduct of doing something meaningful', Viktor Frankel and 'We have built prisons for ourselves' - Dalai Lama.  The 3 things for success and happiness are knowledge, the right habits and the right mentors.

Todays episode is a share of a fabulous webinar I was priviledged to be asked to attend and participate in. 

The Game of Values is an introduction into the role our core values play in life. How they allow us to create our vision for ourselves and the world, and we can achieve this. 

There are different ways we obtain core values. Some from our parents and authorities growing up, some from our peers or interests we are drawn to, but mainly from our life experiences. 

The majority of people do not know the complete array of their core values, and therefore when living out of alignment, or feeling unhappy or confused, its impossible to pinpoint why. 

Knowing the core YOU gives you back the power to recalibrate yourself when needed, and follow a career or life path that is in complete alignment with who you truly are.

Cordelia is a shining example of a woman that does not want to settle. 

She met her 'to be' husband at the age of 15, had 3 children, but after 12 years in that relationship it became clear to Cordelia that she needed to change her life. 

As a student nurse and pregant with child number three Cordelia decided they needed to start an online business they could do together to light her husband up. That business didn't really pay well and didn't encourage her husband and Cordelia was left to do everything. After 2 years of hard work she gave up.  However this experience lead Cordelia into finding SFM (Six Figure Mentors) which accelerated her knowledge and online marketing skills. 

A few months into this new journey, wanting to be at events and not at home and after a life changing retreat in the Dominican Republic, Cordelia realised her marriage was holding her back and not letting her self express in the way she needed and wanted to. 

Although scared to end her relationship, a conversation with her mentor was a pivotal moment of waking up and realising she couldnt hold her self back any longer. Her partner didn't want to share the growth or her journey , so it was inevitable. A big argument later and Cordelia packed all her things in the car grabbed her children and went to her mums. Luckily her step dad had just bought a caravan which became home for the next 6 weeks. 

But then the magic started for a while. She found a new house after being rejected by 2 landlords, and third time lucky she found the perfect home. There was no furniture but it was her own place. 

The scariest part for Cordelia was admitting she was single mum but once she did, life was great albeit it fast and hectic. Then with a new boyfriend in toe she had a serious car crash. The next 6 months of recouping made her realise she hadn't even grieved for her lost marriage and in slowing down she was able to process the changes. 

By early 2019 she was single again, in £60k of debt, and seriously needed to get finaincial stability. So after doing a lot of business coaching for SFM and running webinars, she realised she could start her own coaching business. Cordelia loves entrepreneurs who have a real passion about whatever their product or service is. 

By early 2020 she decided to put her parachute on and jump into her own business. Coaching anyone and everyone she built her confidence up and took a coaching accreditation. Through sound advice she then started to communicate with her existing network rather than paid advertising and got paying clients. 

And of course then Covid hit so she asked the question 'how can I add value to people right now?' With that the Rebellious Network was born, which has become her passion and she frickin loves it. 

On reflection and quoting Tony Robbins Cordelia states that 'Most of the time spent agonising is building up to the decision, actually making the decision happens in a split second'.
