  • #241 Andy Hahn: The One-Hour Miracle

    Show Notes

My special guest today, Dr. Andrew Hahn has just released a new book, titled “The One Hour Miracle.” And I must tell you… as skeptical as I am about such seemingly… shall we say, “far-reaching” proclamations, Andy has pioneered a process called Life-Centered Therapy that just might get you there.

You will soon discover that Andy is one of the smartest guests we’ve ever had on the show… maybe that’s why he’s a Harvard grad.

Andy Hahn got my attention when he told me that “our life’s work is about the revelation of who we really are.”

So, without any further introduction, let’s bring on Dr Andrew Hahn and talk about discovering a rich life of meaning and how we might find a way to manage, or even dismiss, our most limiting traumas and stresses.

You can contact Dr Hahn at andyhahn@ lifecenteredtherapy.com

  • #240 Cara Stewart: Into the Mind of Charlie

    Show Notes

Today is a dramatic departure from the normal format of our podcast. That because today my, friend Cara Stewart, will host the show as she interviews me as a guest on my own podcast.

Initially, I invited Cara to be a guest on the show but after she and I discussed possible topics she came up with the question, “Hey, Charlie. Has anyone ever interviewed you on your show? To which my response was, “Well, not really.”

After just a few moments of thought, I said, “Let’s give it shot.” So here we are.

Fortunately, Cara Steward in an excellent host: she is a former journalist, a frequent co-host of another podcast on OC Talk Radio, a serial entrepreneur, and the founder and CEO of Altalunas Media.

I have no idea what to expect.

With that, let’s discover just what Cara Stewart has in mind as today’s guest host of the Next Chapter with Charlie.

  • #239 Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino: The Change Guidebook

    Show Notes

My guest today, Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino, is the founder of The Best Ever You Network. What a business name… The Best Ever You Network. I love it!’

As she tells us in the interview, Elizabeth founded her company in 2008 and began her podcasts in 2010. I kind of view her as a bit of a pioneer in the field of understanding how self-improvement methodologies can result in in genuinely changed lives. Elizabeth is determined to produce actual results that make a real difference in the lives of the thousands of people she regularly influences. Elizabeth will challenge the way you think about living your life intentionally.

  • #238 Lindsay Davis- Spring Cleaning: Getting Rid of Things That Don’t Work

    Show Notes

I think most all working adults have experienced (or are experiencing) the sluggish malaise of a burn out. These are the times when our joy of life just feels stalled and all that remains is stress and anxiety. I, myself, am just emerging from that nearly paralyzing state of burn out.

For that reason, I am so much looking forward to our conversation today with one of my very favorite podcast guests: Lindsay Davis. Lindsay is a business and life coach for high performers. She “lives” in the success arena and fully understands one of the greatest issues facing high performers—burn out!

I have so much more to say but, instead, why don’t we just bring on our voice of sanity, Lindsay Davis.

You can contact Lindsay at [email protected]

  • #237 Terry Hershey: The Sacred Wounds of Brokenness

    Show Notes

This week on his blog, Sabbath Moment, Terry Hershey has been writing about the restorative power of brokenness.

Terry writes this: “In embracing our wounds, they become sacred wounds, because grace is alive and well in brokenness. It’s paradigm shift time. Time to move from a project-management view of life, to a “wade-in” view of life. Life, in its brokenness, is not to be contained, explained, or fixed.”

I really like the idea of moving on from a project-management view of life. It is so much better to view life as an exciting and unpredictable adventure, as opposed to a “project.” And, as we all know, with adventure comes disappointment and messiness.

Perhaps the messiness of it all is the key notion we will discuss in this show because messiness includes being wounded and broken.

  • #236 Zen Cryar DeBrucke: Your Internal Guidance System

    Show Notes

Our talk today is a most important discussion about how we can better “orient” our lives. Let me explain. For decades, I have believed in the idea that we all possess some sort of built-in internal gyroscope to align our daily lives with our personal values. As you well know, the technical function of a gyroscope is to detect the deviation of an object from its desired orientation. Isn’t that true for us as well? I truly believe that we have (or need) a personal internal gyroscope.

Well, our guest today, Zen Cryar DeBrucke, has devoted more than 30 years to exploring this very subject. She describes it in her book Your Internal Guidance System. Zen also founded and manages the Smart Soul Academy which encapsulates 30 years of exploring. The online Academy contains trainings and systems that will enable you to master the use of your IGS (or Internal Guidance System).

On today’s show Zen talks to us about accessing and implementing Your Internal Guidance System. I am very into this topic and can’t wait for Zen’s expertise.

Please connect with Zen’s Smart Soul Academy and learn how to discover and use your Internal Guidance System.

  • #235 Linda Olson: Connecting with The Story of YOU

Show Notes  Today we have on our show a favorite guest, master storyteller, Linda Olson. Linda has a brand-new book that demonstrates how to use the discipline of storytelling to, as stated in the subtitle, Empower Your Hope When Going Through Tough Times.

As I was chatting with Linda earlier this week, I came to the realization that there is a huge difference between your “stories” and your “STORY.” In our previous podcasts with Linda we talked primarily about developing tools necessary to tell your life “stories” in a lucid, yet concise manner.

We will continue that a bit in this show, but today I’d like to talk about the value of your “life story” or your “narrative” and how that story impacts your life. This will be fun.

Linda Olsen is a bestselling author, TEDx speaker and Founder of Wealth Through Stories. As former college dean, and marriage and family therapist Linda brings us deep knowledge of personal transformation through telling your own story.

You know, on this show, we talk a lot about your core self and about the importance of owning your personal values. Well, today’s guest takes the notion of personal values just a step deeper. • #233 Charlie: Everyone Has a Next Chapter

    Show Notes

Just recently we did a show with Terry Hershey on Creating Inner Space for Change. The idea was that in order for meaningful life change to occur, you must first “declutter” your mind and your activities. I believe it is show #231, so listeners might want to check that one out because today I plan to talk more about what “Life Change” might look like.

What does it mean to live with meaning, adventure, and awe? Although, it’s the theme of our web presence and yet I am not sure I have ever addressed the subject on a podcast. Well, today is the day.

As an Executive Life Coach, I work with highly successful individuals who are planning for greater meaning in their life either through their career or by means of a meaningful retirement. So, I “live” these ideas. And as a lover of a life of meaning, adventure, and awe my inner core drives me to pursue the process of greater and greater alignment with my core self.

In our time today I plan to talk around three issues: the Drivers, Restraints, and Processes for to Life Change. In other words… how can we enter our Next Chapter because, like it or not, every day is a new chapter and it is up to you to determine the content of that chapter. You “get to” determine the content of your life.

  • #232 Nick Jordan: Marching to a Million

    Show Notes

Today, our recording day is March 17th or St Patrick’s Day, so I have brought on an Irish man to talk a bit about why we celebrate St Patrick’s Day and then talk a lot about poverty in the world.

My guest is a very fortunate cancer survivor, Nick Jordan, who is CEO and

Founder, Wells of Life, Inc. a group that is committed to bringing clean water to 1,000 communities in Uganda and beyond. And as that dream is about to come true the end of this year, 2022 as we March to a Million. What that means is not only will we serve 1000 villages, but that effort to mean that we have provided clean water to 1 MM people.

It has taken us 12 years to get here and our plan is to reach 2 MM people served with water by year-end 2025.

Born, raised and educated in Ireland, Nick holds a bachelor’s degree from University College, Dublin.
