The Nostalgia Pit

Howdy folks! Have we got one helluva an episode for you todo! I mean today… Gah! This autocorrect function is getting really bad… But it is quite an episode, as we preview our brand new watch-a-longs that will be coming this October! Tune in for details as to what we may be watching in the future as well as when to keep an eye out!

Obviously, that’s not all we talk about… We discuss everything from Freddy Kruger to the evolution of JK Rowling to how stress inhibits brain growth. Plus! We bust out ye ol’ Song Spelunker on the behest of a loyal listener and look into a song from the 1989 smash hit Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure.

And if you enjoy what we are doing here at the Pit and would like to support us further, please check us out our patreon, where we have exclusive extended episodes! Today, we ponder what this country is missing and think we found the solution! …the Hapsburg jaw.

Howdy, folks! For this episode, Rob and I ventured down to Texas to talk with friend-of-the-pod Tyler Rickshaw! You may remember him from season three’s episode number twenty-one entitled Blanket of Sadness… But maybe you’re new to the party and missed that one… No worries, you can always go back as most all our episodes are evergreen.

But on THIS episode, we discuss everything from Walker Texas Ranger, to K Pop Demon Hunter, to the efficacy of the D.A.R.E. program. We also talk cheap ways to travel, growing up in a small town, and the possibility of Chris Pratt as Batman…

And if you enjoy what we are doing here at the Pit and would like to support us further, please check us out our patreon, where we have exclusive extended episodes! Today, Tyler pinpoints the exact moment fast food became awful. Like, the EXACT moment….

We also have some merch for sale up on our Etsy, as well as a limited run of embroidered beanies out now! Only a few left… Shoot us a DM on IG if you’re interested.

What do Walt Disney, JFK and Elvis all have in common? Well, besides them all being deceased, of course… What if I added in the CIA, Paul McCartney, and LSD?! Would that narrow things down at all? No?!

Well, all of these things listed are steeped deeply in conspiracy theories. Drinks w/ Ron joins the fun to surprise us with a bracket on some of the best, most well known & interesting concepts that many a mind have tried to decipher. All that, and much more!

And if you enjoy what we are doing here at the Pit and would like to support us further, please check us out our patreon, where we have exclusive extended episodes! Today, we discuss the comedian Beetlejuice, the new Toxic Avenger movie, and the 35th anniversary of the cinematic debut of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

Today, we did something a little unorthodox… Perhaps, a bit uncalled for… Maybe even a little unnecessary... We decided to mess with the timeline, and record an impromptu episode and shuffle it ahead. What could be so important that would earn such a shuffling?

As you may know by now, Rob and myself - aka Araless and Hash Adams - released a project called the Toxic Crusaders. As the Troma Entertainment world is special to us, we were very excited to see the new Toxic Avenger movie starring Peter Dinklage, Taylour Paige, Elijah Wood & Kevin Bacon. Spoilers aplenty in this one, so be warned!

Although Toxie is our touchstone in this one, we also discuss in detail the new Wizdumb & Hash Adams album Worst Case Scenario out now! All that and more!

And if you enjoy what we are doing here at the Pit and would like to support us further, please check us out our patreon, where we have exclusive extended episodes! Today, we discuss the Valentine’s Day riot at Evergreen college, unresolved cliffhangers in TV shows, and jikkuhlang. Plus! Rob debuts a never heard before style of singing! Soon to be a billboard staple.

We also have some merch for sale up on our Etsy, as well as a limited run of embroidered beanies out now! Only a few left… Shoot us a DM on IG if you’re interested.

Time to fire up that echo chamber and start screaming into the void! Rob and Colin talk AI psychosis and the virality of delusion, as well as everything from super string theory to Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. Quite the array today!

But you know that that’s not all… We also bust out ye ol’ Song Spelunker and look into the 2000 smash hit Jumpin’, Jumpin’ by Destiny’s Child. All of these things, and many more, today at The Pit.

And if you enjoy what we are doing here at the Pit and would like to support us further, please check us out our patreon, where we have exclusive extended episodes out early! Today, we talk the movie that’s been sweeping the nation with it’s polarizing portrayal of an alien invasion in the surveillance state… None other than War of the Worlds starring Ice Cube and Eva Longoria.

This week is a doozy.... We got special guest Celina Flores to join Colin to look back to a day and time when things were simpler and the adventure was a little more exhilarating. Almost 30 years in fact... This special Limited Recall looks into one of the biggest movie franchises of the 20th century. None other than… Indiana Jones.

And that’s not all of course. It’s Rob Review’s time, folks! Rob is gonna review something for us, and this time it is J-Lo’s The Cell after Colin’s breakdown last week. We also discuss method acting, the classic manga Berserk, and (of course) white saviors.

Plus, some dude’s out there trying to wrestle God?!!? Did y’all hear about this?! More on that in the episode…

PATREON EXCLUSIVE: we discuss the new season of South Park, Grok declaring itself Mecha Hitler, and the 2002 cult classic Queen of the Damned. Yes. The very one staring Aaliyah.

We also have some merch for sale up on our Etsy, as well as a limited run of embroidered beanies out now! Only a few left… Shoot us a DM on IG if you’re interested.

This week we welcome in the producer and co-host of Static Radio: one Bob Lament to discuss any topics that tickled his fancy. Everything from Honey I Shrunk the Kids! to collective consciousness to the evolution of advertising… Nothing was off the table in this one.

We also discuss potentially the worst film of all time. Bob challenges Colin to watch this film and even offers a whopping $5 if the task can be completed. Plus! We learn of one of the most contentious games in all of Australia… Curious what it is? Stay tuned and you’ll find out!

And if you enjoy what we are doing here at the Pit and would like to support us further, please check us out our patreon, where we have exclusive extended episodes! Today, we discuss Rob’s new record called Nemesis coming out 09.19.25, as well as some very hot takes about the world of music.

Do you remember being taught things by teachers as a kid, things that as you got older seemed suspiciously false? The biggest and most egregious example that comes to mind always is that of Christopher Colombus. They told us he “discovered America” and that he was one of the, if not the greatest explorer the world had ever seen.

Well, it is that time of the month… where we welcome back in Drinks w/ Ron to facilitate a battle of myths. Old wives tales taught to us by authority figures and painted as absolutes. In this month’s bracket, we assess everything from the aforementioned Columbus to The Food Pyramid to the direction a toilet would flush in the southern hemisphere.

Of course, you know that’s not all… We also discuss Happy Gilmore 2, the gallon challenge, and Gumby (to name a few).

And if you enjoy what we are doing here at the Pit and would like to support us further, please check us out our patreon, where we have exclusive extended episodes! Today, Rob and Colin measure their Hitchcocks… Just two grown men, whipping out their experiences onto a table and comparing them in a totally nonchalant fashion.

Today we welcome in a man all the way from the swampy bosom of Dallas, Texas. Music producer and filmmaker extraordinaire Thad Wenatchee joins the Pit to discuss everything from butt plugs, to geopolitics, to the new(ish) Toxic Crusaders project (which he produced the entirety of).

But that’s not all of course. As a lad born and bred in the Pacific Northwest, you can probably imagine there was a tad bit of culture shock in relocating to the Lone Star State. So we discuss a smattering of these moments along with a good old fashioned SNACK ATTACK on some of the best offerings the Big D can put forth.

PATREON EXCLUSIVE: We do a Song Spelunker on Closing Time by Semisonic as well as have a heated debate on who’s better: Christian Slater or Christian Bale.

We also have some merch for sale up on our Etsy, as well as a limited run of embroidered beanies out now! Only a few left… Shoot us a DM on IG if you’re interested.

Have you ever been in a public setting and felt an overwhelming bout of emotion coming on? Have you ever taken those emotions and crammed them down into a dark place that no one can see, only to put on a smile in the face of the seemingly judgemental?

Well so has Melissa Manchester and she would like to tell us all about it with her hit song Don’t Cry Out Loud from 1978. So Rob and I put on our hard hats with the little lights on them and did some spelunking, trying to decipher this ballad of emotional suppression.

We also talk the origin of the sad clown, Uwe Boll, and the Creed Cruise amongst many other things.

And if you enjoy what we are doing here at the Pit and would like to support us further, please check us out our patreon, where we have exclusive extended episodes! Today, we discuss the still at large Australian serial kidnapper Mr. Cruel as well as Ivan the Terrible #slippingintodarkness.
