We also talk about our concerns with the lack of fans in the stadiums and how we think this might be alleviated next season if the USFL can play games in the teams home cities and not in one centralized location. We talk about the quality of the games and if we think that the league will continue especially with the fact that FOX is involved with the league for the content it will provide both FOX and it’s cable channels.

Finally we hit a controversial topic for the third period. We discuss ads on jerseys. We give you the listener our thoughts on advertisements on jerseys, why we are for or against them. We also look at how some European Hockey leagues treat ads on jerseys.

This Episode of The NASPod

We start the show off talking about some milestones that were hit thus far during the 2021-2022 season for various sports. We talk about the Hershey Bears 3000th win in the AHL, Alexander Ovechkin moving to 3rd in all time goals in the NHL, LeBron James becoming the 2ndall time in points and field goals in the NBA, and of course Tom Brady adding to his all time touchdown throws in the NFL.

In the second period we follow up on a topic we have discussed quite a few times with some historical information. The NFL did have a farm/development system a few decades ago. We discuss the Atlantic Coast Football League, the Seaboard Football League, the teams in those leagues and who their NFL affiliates were. We also dive into Jason’s fleshed out idea for an independent baseball team. Right down to the mascot. It’s hilarious and so far off topic that both of us could barely keep it together.

In the final period, we address the situation behind the scenes with a recent sponsor, we also decide that since we were recording on Good Friday we would talk about the infamous Good Friday Massacre between the Montreal Canadiens and the Quebec Nordiques from the 1984 NHL Playoffs.

We are back from our holiday break and we open the show with a bang, we go over our escapades with Jonathan (AKA Johnny Bobble) at a Hershey Bears game, Jason also talks about his Uni-Watch Membership card.

Moving into the 1st period, we talk about the passing of John Madden, we get into some of his stats as a coach. We discuss his lengthy and legendary career as a coach and analyst on TV. It also dives into his history of behavior with teams. We also look at a possible mental health issue for Brown. This also dives into us discussing weird clauses in contracts, which lead to Jason talking about Van Halen’s infamous “No Brown M&M” clause on their rider for concerts.

Finally in the 3rd period the topic is Rally Songs. The fun thing about this topic is David chose popular songs that have become known as sports anthems. Jason went with songs that were created specifically for the teams, and one of his pics will indeed shock you.
