Lights, camera, action! Average Boy is in a movie! Okay, it's really a promotional video for his church, but it's still exciting! Even though AB has some “creative differences” with his youth pastor, he learns the most important thing is to put God first. Bob and Jesse also give a listener advice about not getting so mad about things.

There is no perfect podcast, but this one comes close. Actually, it doesn’t because only Jesus is perfect. Bob discovers how imperfect he is, especially with keeping his promises. When he fails to pick up something he promised to do, it almost results in his grandma getting injured. Bob and Jesse also help out a listener in Texas with ways to get through hard times in life.

Average Boy has a gift for being funny. But are there times when it’s best not to be funny or tell a joke? Yup. Average Boy shares some appropriate—and some not-so-appropriate—times he used humor. From setting off the sprinklers in science class to getting stuck in traffic on the way to baseball practice, Bob learns (or does he?) the proper time and place to make people laugh.

Putting off projects are not the best idea. Average Boy procrastinated on a history research paper...and now he's in trouble! With no time to spare, he learns his lesson on putting off important things and doing your best so that you can honor God.

A youth group Bible study at Average Boy's house means it's time to clean up! As people arrive, Bob makes sure there are plenty of snacks. But as they are reading Scripture, Bob's dad makes a distracting announcement! Along with Average Boy, you'll learn the importance of staying focused.

When Average Boy encounters the Terrible Threesome at school, he tries to be nice. As usual, they make fun of him. And not just him, but also Jimmy—a new kid who is in a wheelchair. Before AB can say anything, Jimmy rolls up and makes the Threesome super nervous with his confidence and humor. You’ll also meet Everley and discover that all people are created in the image of God.

The fall festival at Bob’s church is filled with fun, a family photo shoot and a parking lot full of pumpkins. What could go possibly wrong? First, Average Boy has to keep his clothes clean. And that’s not easy with all the strawberry ice cream and chocolate bars lying around. Then there’s the spider attack! Discover what happens when everything doesn’t go as Bob’s Mom planned. Also, Bob and Jesse give a listener some advice on how to handle an annoying brother.

Forests and snakes and electric fences, oh my! Bob experiences all these obstacles—plus some laughing birds—in his quest to be on time. After losing his backpack in a bullfight (really!), AB barely makes on time. On time to where? Well, you’ll have to listen to find out. You’ll also find out how his friend Billy saves the day. Plus, a “Jesse joke” fan writes in with a 5-star review and a great question about being friends with people who don’t share your beliefs.

Although the word no isn’t fun to hear, it can be a positive. You know? You will once you hear about Average Boy’s visit to an amusement park. After ignoring his dad’s advice and eating a “few” too many hot dogs, Bob joins his family on the roller coaster. Oh no! Bob and Jesse also answer a call-in question from a listener who gets in trouble a lot with his parents.

Average Boy goes on a beach vacation with his family, but he forgets his flip-flops and burns his feet on the sand. Ouch! But not as ouchy as a crying boy who needs help to find his parents. With no lifeguards around, Bob and his brother, Brian, step up. Beach litter plays a surprising (if not icky) part in the rescue, so does the color orange. Orange you glad the color wasn’t banana. Find out if Jesse’s jokes are better than the last line and if the boy makes it back to his parents in this sandy adventure.
