Black Lives Matter protests in Seattle are depicted in this episode. Many of the injuries that come in this day are results of the protests including but not limited to Cormac’s head laceration, a woman named Nell who was impaled with a tear gas canister and a man who was hit with a rubber bullet.

Mer hasn't woken up yet, and Zola is called in as a last effort. Mer ends up waking up and says "We love you so much" representing her and Derek. Derek walks away alone on the beach, it is not Mer's time.

We have Jackson's last episode and say goodbye with some heartwarming flashbacks.

We are back to the beach. We see George! We have a touching moment with George, Meredith, Bailey, and Richard overlooking the ocean. Tom is brought into the hospital having suffered a stroke and COVID19, he makes his way to Meredith's room to feel less alone. Bailey's mother arrives at the hospital and dies from COVID19, it is heartbreaking.

We have made it to Season 17 and the doctors are in the midst of the Pandemic, something that feels way too close to touch again. We have flashbacks of all the doctors storylines that they were unable to wrap up before the end of Season 16. We see the beach for the first time...and yes you remember Derek. Everyone is working hard to diagnose Richard. Amelia and Tom think he has Alzheimers, but Meredith can't believe it. Deluca and her work tirelessly to come up with another diagnosis, and Deluca once again pulls through. Richard has cobalt poisoning. 

Amelia has her baby and Bailey is right behind her through labor, just like George was for her. 

Teddy really messes things up by sleeping with Tom on her wedding day, but not only that, she accidentally calls Owen while doing in the act leaving a voicemail to be played by Schmitt in the OR.

Alex has left and we are dealing with Jo and Mer grieving his absence. Link ends up back with Amelia telling her he just wants to parent with him. We learn more about Teddy and Haye's past. Bailey asks Joey a foster child to come home and be apart of the family and Amelia decides not to find out the results of the paternity test.
