In today’s episode, Dr. Siohvaughn Funches continues the series, “When You Don’t Understand His Hand, Trust His Heart.” Dr. Funches picks up where she left off in the last message, the very vital topic about how when you can’t understand God’s hand, you must trust His heart. In every believer’s life, there are going to be times — maybe even seasons — when we just don’t understand what it is that God is doing, or possibly don’t understand why God isn’t doing something that we feel He needs to do.
Dr. Funches returns to John 11 and Martha, Mary, and Lazarus and shares how much she can relate to needing a miracle from God in the most grievous and even fearful circumstances. Martha seemed not to understand the hand of the Lord when she told Him Lazarus would not have died if the Lord had been there, but she showed her faith that even after Lazarus died, Jesus could heal him and raise him from death. Dr. Funches emphasizes Jesus revealing Himself as the resurrection and the life.

In today’s episode, Dr. Siohvaughn Funches continues the series, “When You Don’t Understand His Hand, Trust His Heart.” Dr. Funches begins by recapping the previous three messages. It is vital for believers to trust the heart of God, especially in the times when you don’t understand His hand. There will be times when you don’t understand. Sometimes you don’t understand when He’s doing something and sometimes you don’t understand when He doesn’t seem to be doing what you think you need. Those are the moments we fight the good fight of faith. The only way to do that is to know God’s heart; to know Him. God is unconditional love toward us at all times and in all seasons.
Dr. Funches continues with a review of the previous messages starting at John 11:1–16, about Martha, Mary, and Lazarus. If something is important to you, it’s important to God. Dr. Funches discusses how Jesus stayed in the place where He was for two days when he heard that Lazarus was sick. We need to walk by faith, not by sight when we don’t understand what God is doing. He does everything out of love. Dr. Funches continues reading the story at John 11:17–22 and stresses that Martha knew that with God all things are possible. You cannot cast your cares until you first humble yourself. Take God at His word.

In today’s episode, Dr. Siohvaughn Funches continues the series, “When You Don’t Understand the Hand of God, Trust the Heart of God.” We need to do what we’re called to do and walk by faith, not by sight and really trust the heart of God. Dr. Funches encourages you to go back and listen to the previous episodes in this series.
Dr. Funches introduces this message by reviewing from John 11:1-3, the account of Mary and Martha sending for Jesus to heal their brother Lazarus from his serious illness. Today, we do not send for Jesus but we pray in faith and He sends us forth to do greater works and carry the presence of God at all times and anywhere.Dr. Funches continues with the story of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus with her teachings on God’s love and creative power of speaking words of life by the perfect will of God. Dr. Funches also examines Jesus bringing to life the daughter of Jairus, the raising from death of the son of the widow of Nain, and Elisha raising the son of the Shunammite woman. Dr. Funches stresses our need to trust in the love of God, even when we don’t see His purposes for us.

In today’s episode, Dr. Siohvaughn Funches continues the series, “When You Can’t Understand the Hand of God, Trust the Heart of God.” Dr. Funches introduces this message by reminding you that God loves you perfectly and there’s nothing you could ever do to change His love for you. Dr. Funches asks you to listen to last week’s message if you have not heard it.
Dr. Funches teaches that there are going to be times when you just do not understand what God is doing, why He is doing it, or the way He is doing it. We don’t understand why something may be taking so long or why something is moving so fast. Understand that God is unconditional love; God is wisdom. God’s wisdom and love work together to shield us from some things. Dr. Fuenches uses the example of a parent leaving a child in the hands of a surgeon for a necessary procedure.Dr. Funches continues with the story of Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, reviewing verses 1–3 and studying verse 4, as well as other passages to show God’s love. In today’s episode, Dr. Siohvaughn Funches begins the series, “When You Can’t Understand the Hand of God, Trust the Heart of God.” Dr. Funches introduces this message by talking about the times when you might be impatient with God’s work in your life, either that it’s not happening when you want, or it’s not what you want, you can trust God’s heart. God is love. God loves you. You will not stay in the waiting room for too many seasons. You are to possess your promise. The things you are waiting for are not just for you but are for a blessing to others.Dr. Funches teaches about God’s wisdom and superiority. In today’s episode, Dr. Siohvaughn Funches finishes the series, “Putting it in the Hands of Jesus.” Dr. Funches introduces this message by stating that whether we have a mess of our own or we are involved in someone else’s mess, as we put it in the almighty hands of Jesus, He will turn your mess into whatever miracle you need, beyond even your prayers.Dr. Funches recaps the message from last week, that Jesus washes us clean. His word is a lamp to our feet. It directs our paths. One thing is needful — getting at the feet of Jesus and hearing His word. Jesus is God’s Word. When we know the Word, we know the Son of God, who is God. Jesus is the Light of the world. Jesus is the Bread of Life. He is everything that we can possibly need. Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life.In this week’s message, Dr. Funches teaches that no one can serve two masters. Mammon is of the devil. Jesus knows our needs before we do. God supplies all of our needs. We must grasp the truth that we cannot serve God and mammon. Dr. Funches takes us to a study of Luke 5 where Jesus blessed Simon, James, and John with a catch of fish that started to sink their boats and they followed Him. God provides and His provision changes as He wills it. Dr. Funches speaks about tithing. When you give God 10% of your income, it is a way of putting it in His Hands. God will open the windows of heaven and pour at that there will not be room enough to receive it. You will have to give some of it away! When you give God 10%, 100% becomes holy. You can’t lose, with God. Whatever is put in His hands grows and multiplies.

KEY BIBLE VERSES
[18:46] Matthew 6:24, NKJV 24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and Mammon.”
[24:33] Luke 5:1–11, NKJV 1 So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, 2 and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets. 3 Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat. 4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” 5 But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” 6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. 7 So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. 8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!” 9 For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish which they had taken; 10 and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men.” 11 So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him.
[35:37] Malachi 3:10, NKJV 10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.”
[38:43] Romans 11:16, NKJV 16 For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

In today’s episode, Dr. Siohvaughn Funches begins the series, “The Benefits and Blessings of Putting it in Jesus’s Hands.” Dr. Funches is excited about this series. It’s a powerful message but simple to understand. The Bible passages show that when people come to Jesus and put something in His hand, they are greatly blessed beyond what they asked for. Today, when we come to Jesus, we come to Him in praise, when we open up the word of God, when we go to Church, and when we go to Bible study. In this week’s message, Dr. Funches delves into the benefits of coming to Jesus with whatever you have need. God gives lavishly and prospers us. God wants us to rule over money and use it for His purposes and His glory. Dr. Funches goes to John 6 for a miracle of provision with barley loaves and fish and reminds that God provides so you are filled to overflowing and are satisfied. Our needs can never outmatch what God supplies.

KEY BIBLE VERSES
[22:36] John 6:1–7, NKJV 1 After these things Jesus went over the Sea of Galilee, which is the Sea of Tiberias. 2 Then a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His signs which He performed on those who were diseased. 3 And Jesus went up on the mountain, and there He sat with His disciples. 4 Now the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was near. 5 Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” 6 But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do. 7 Philip answered Him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little.”
[25:40] John 6:8–14, NKJV 8 8 One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him, 9 “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?” 10 Then Jesus said, “Make the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. 11 And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted. 12 So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.” 13 Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten. 14 Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, “This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.”
[34:02] Psalm 100:4, NKJV 4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.

In today’s episode, Dr. Siohvaughn Funches continues the series, “Favor on the Way.” Dr. Funches invites you to see in this series that God favors you on the way to inheriting that promise God made you.Dr. Funches recaps the message from the first episode of this series that everyone faces storms in life. We live in a world that is fallen, where the devil has influence with people. The spiritual storms that arise in us are like natural storms. Visibility is not good in a storm. God wants us to use our eyes of faith to see God in His word. We don’t see a way out of our troubles but God surely has a way. Jesus has overcome the world with His blood. Look with eyes of faith. Ask God to open your eyes of faith so you can see Jesus every day in your walk with Him. God is good to you every day. Dr. Funches talks about the favor of God to you through Jesus as you walk by faith.
In last week’s message, Dr. Funches started delving into the Book of Esther. This week, Dr. Funches continues in the Book of Esther. We see that Esther and Mordecai had a journey to get to their promised blessings. Dr. Funches invites you to slow down and meditate as you read the scriptures. Think about how long Abraham and Sarah waited on God. Slow down, soak in the truth, and let the Holy Spirit minister to you. It is better to read a little with the Holy Spirit than to read a lot without seeking the Holy Spirit.
Dr. Funches recaps the first chapters of the Book of Esther, looking at how Esther was orphaned and Mordecai took her in as his daughter. Dr. Funches summarizes the events in the Book of Esther concerning how Esther, as a virgin, was brought before King Ahasuerus as a potential bride for him. Even in their hardships, Esther and Mordecai trusted in God and God favored them along the way. Dr. Funches picks up in the Book of Esther where last week’s message ended.
