Whether you're an athlete, entrepreneur, or just someone looking to feel more grounded and present in your life, I encourage you to explore the benefits of mindfulness. One person who has been a great example of this is my guest this week Michael Cazayoux, a former CrossFit Games champion and founder of Brute Strength.
In this episode, Michael has talks openly about his struggles with addiction and how mindfulness practices like meditation and journaling have helped him stay sober and develop greater self-awareness. He's also shared how mindfulness has benefited his performance as an athlete and coach, helping him focus on the present moment and make better decisions.
If you're new to mindfulness or looking to deepen your practice, some tips that Michael has recommended include:

Words are powerful. They can build us up or tear us down, create connection or destroy it. In yoga philosophy, the concept of 'ahimsa' or non-harming reminds us to choose our words wisely and speak with kindness and compassion. When we practice ahimsa, we not only improve our own mental wellbeing, but also positively impact the lives of those around us.
Think about the words you use in your daily interactions with others. Are they uplifting or critical? Do they promote understanding or create conflict? Remember, the words you speak have the power to shape your life and relationships. Choose them wisely and practice ahimsa both on and off the mat.
