The Outdoors Show

The guys rolled into the studio for this episode scratching their heads. When it comes to the weather, this has been the craziest year ever! From the upwelling earlier this year to the nor’easter trifecta we just went through, nobody knows what to make of it all…including the fish!

Regardless, the guys had a great time talking about all kinds of stuff…and with lots of callers checking in asking all kinds of questions, it was another great listen. A special bonus for you, too: the guys heard from THE ORIGINAL Outdoors Show Hall of Famer!

Capt. Kevin sat down for the episode doin’ some head scratching…the weather has continued to be a bit on the bizarre side this week. The Unusual Suspects checked in saying the same thing…what do you think? How’s it been for you?

Capt. Kirk was doing some OSR this week, so Capt. Chip Wingo, one of our beloved Unusual Suspects from the Fishing Forecast, joined Capt. Kevin and Jeff for the episode.

Lots to talk about with bow season firing up in Georgia and the nor’easter features making inshore fishing fun.  But the OS faithful jumped on the chance to help Jeff with his bird problem. All kinds of suggestions came in, but Brother James called in and shared the ultimate bird scare experience, featuring Fan Man and the Rock’n’Roll Light Show!

The conversation often went sideways, but don’t think the guys didn’t talk outdoors – you don’t want to miss the snake and shark stories!

Welcome to Bizarro-World. 2025 continues to be the strangest year for fishing weather ever! The temps are odd, the wind is weird, and boy…is keeping Capt. Whether you call it “nor’easter” or “northeaster”, everybody was calling it a welcome change from the weather has been doing. Great fishing and fun, with lots of stories about it.

We also heard from representatives of the upcoming Young Life Triple Challenge and Flounder Pounder tournaments…which means the First Coast has some great chances for great prizes coming their way this fall.

Unless you’ve been under a rock, you HAD to notice the change in the weather. Capt. Kevin and the Unusual Suspects sure did, but how exactly did it affect their angling adventures? Listen in to find out, and get the forecast, too.

With Jeff out for the second week in a row, Capt. Kevin and Capt. Kirk held down the fort – which turned out to be more difficult than you would think. Think about it…it’s summer on the First Coast, right? Fishing’s fantastic, right?

Not sure whether you’re laughing or crying right now, but we know you understand. Times are DOUBLE TOUGH on the water right now.

Jeff did check in from GA to talk hunting a little, and boy, did that open the door to all kinds of buck stories.  SO MUCH FUN to talk deer again!

Guess it all depends on how you look at things. Half empty/half full. Yin/Yang. The biggest pain in the hind end year of fishing, or a year full of surprises.  Find out which one Capt. With Jeff down in Miami tending to his Jaguars duties, Captain Kevin and Captain Kirk welcomed in fellow captain (and Fishing Forecast Unusual Suspect) Capt. Chip Wingo to chatter about everything happening on the First Coast. Jeff did call in, though, to give everyone a lay of the land down in south FL.

The guys also took some time to tip the cap to Jimmy Stockton, who passed away recently. All three of the guys…and several callers…shared LOTS of great stories about a great man.  RIP, Jimmy!

Over all, it was a big episode with lots of laughs and great stories.  Another must-listen!
