Capt. Kevin was back from his extended OSR, with lots of stories to tell. Of course, the Unusual Suspects checked in to give Kevin – and everybody else – the lowdown on what was happening around the First Coast.

With Capt. Kevin on another week of OSR, Capt. Kirk and Jeff welcomed back Tru Luvin’ Fishing’s Domenic Paniccia to talk about everything going on in the water – and all the water falling out of the sky!

With Capt. Kevin out doing some OSR in the King of the Beach tournament, Capt. Kirk and Jeff welcomed in Tru Luvin Fishin’s Domenic Paniccia to talk fishing…and Capt. Chip Wingo even sat in for a spell.
The guys welcomed in author Monte Burke to talk about his latest book, Rivers Always Reach The Sea. It’s a collection of thirty-one essays, stories and profiles about Lefty Kreh, Andy Mills, and the pursuit of tarpon, bass, trout and everything in between when it comes to fly fishing.
Capt. Kevin was pleased as punch to report that the thermocline/upwelling – whatever you call it – is past, along with it’s ice cold grip on the water all over the First Coast. So the temps went up, clarity improved dramatically, and the fishing…well, the fishing didn’t change a bit.
What’s happening, and more importantly, what’s gonna happen over the next week? Listen in to find out on this week’s episode.
The guys were all about what was happening on the water…the good, the bad, and the ugly. Nothing uglier than the heat, though. WARNING: the weather forecast ain’t pretty – listen with caution.
Louis Joseph joined the guys this morning to talk about next week’s King of the Beach Tournament…and the incredible story that spawned the tournament. To find out everything about the tournament, about his daughter Mason’s story, and how you can help, visit https://www.nfkingofthebeach.com/ .
Rob also checked in to talk about the Kid’s Kingfish Derby – a tournament exclusively for First Coast kids!
Capt. Kevin and Capt. Ricky, along with the rest of the Unusual Suspects, couldn’t help but talk about how the recent thermocline (or upwelling, if you ask Dr. White) and the impact it’s had on the fishing. But there are still fish to be caught, so they know you’re gonna try to catch ’em. Get all the insight you need…and the weather forecast, too.
It was a full house in the studio for this episode, as the guys welcomed in one of everyone’s favorite guests: Dr. Quinton White. He may now be retired, but he’s certainly not resting at all. He’s been traveling all over the world, and he brought plenty of stories – along with the insight only he could bring. As always, its 100% can’t miss, must listen stuff.
Jeff had the opportunity to check out the latest ICAST Convention in Orlando, and he gave everyone a report on the coolest products coming out.
Finally, it wouldn’t be an episode of the Outdoors Show if the guys didn’t talk about what’s happening on the water this time of year.
As you know, Capt. Kevin’s made it pretty clear over the past several weeks that we went from an incredible May to an amazing June…and then it got bad. Well, now it seems like it may be going from bad to worse. Mother Nature is just not a very friendly lady these days, and the Unusual Suspects were picking up what Capt. Kevin was putting down.
But, is there light at the end of the tunnel? Is there hope? Listen in to find out.
All of the guys were back in the studio for this week’s episode, and they were all shaking their heads. Seriously…why has it been so hard to find fish? The guys talk about it at length…and they sounded like the Hee Haw guys: “Gloom, despair, and agony on me…”
Alberto Vanegas called in – he’s the man behind Amelia Island Land-Based Shark Charter – and talked about the amazing sharks he recently caught. You can check out some amazing pics, video, and a link to his charter business on our Facebook page.
Of course, snapper season continued today, so be mindful of the madness…
